Summer Soiree IG Card Hop - Week 2

Hello friends; we've made it to the middle of the week *yay*. I hope the weather is good where you are; it's still sunny and warm here in South Wales but I think it's supposed to change for the end of the week. Let's hope that summer isn't over already lol!

Talking of summer; it's week 2 of our Summer Soiree IG card hop, which has been organised by my lovely friend Kelly.  This week is all about 'The Great Outdoors'.
Believe it or not but in my vast stash of stamps, dies etc I did not have one item relating the camping or the great outdoors so for a while I was a little bit stumped.  I am no artist but I decided to have a go at drawing my own caravan as this is as close to camping as I'll ever get haha!  It's not perfect by any stretch but I think you know what it is at least!
Here is my card:
A close up of my masterpiece!
I decorated the inside:
So I began by roughly drawing my little caravan in pencil and when I decided it was as good as it was going to be I went over it with a letraset fine line black marker (which is safe to use with markers).  I erased all the pencil marks and coloured the caravan with Promarkers.  I fussy cut the image,  added some glaze to the windows and the wheel to make them shine a little and put it aside to dry.  For my background I used a mountain image and stamped it in light grey ink onto a white panel.  I ink blended the grass but then went over it with my markers for some extra definition.  I also coloured the sky and mountains with markers and used the black marker to define the birds.  I cut this panel out with a stitched die and then cut a navy card mat using my paper trimmer.  I decided to heat emboss my sentiment with gold embossing powder in the lower right corner.  I added my caravan with foam squares.  The panels were adhered together with double sided tape and then added to the card base with foam tape.  I finished off with a few gold sequins.  For the inside I cut the same size panels and adhered them together with double sided tape.  I stamped a small portion of the mountain image, coloured it with markers and added that to the bottom of my white panel with double sided tape.  I didn't add a sentiment as the card could be used for quite a few occasions, so left it blank until I know what I'm using it for.  The panel was then added to my card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments challenge - shaker and/or summer + sentiment
Craft Rocket challenge - no design paper
I Love Promarkers challenge - ATG/pink, blue & yellow
Make My Monday challenge - outdoor summer fun
Try It On Tuesday challenge - here comes summer
Unicorn challenge - emboss it (I heat embossed my sentiment)
We Love Stamping challenge - fabulous florals or ATG

If you would like to follow the hop over on Instagram please use the hashtag #summersoireecardmakinghop2024 to find us or alternatively visit my profile and you will find the list of participants on my post.  We would love it if you would give the summer soiree challenges a try and again use the hashtag and we will find your projects.

I'll be back tomorrow with my card for the Krafty Chicks challenge but until then enjoy the rest of your day and thank you for stopping by.

Love and hugs,

Cupcake craft challenge #189–DT card

Oh dear, I’m a little later than normal sharing my card for this week’s cupcake craft challenge, I just don’t know where the week has gone!!  Our theme this week has been set by the lovely Maarit and she has chosen “material girl” (I bet you’re all singing Madonna’s song now lol!)  Maarit wants you to use some form of material on your creations week so let’s see how adventurous you can be!  I decided to be quite reserved (‘cos I couldn’t think of anything else) and I used felt!  Here is my card:

CCC challenge 189 - material girl

CCC challenge 189 - material girl (close up)

I’m sorry my pictures are so bad, but I really struggled to get a decent one!  I decided to go CAS on the layout and didn’t use any patterned paper at all – I know shock horror!  The image is a super cute penny black stamp called ‘ladybug & hedgehog’ and I coloured it with promarkers.  I used kraft card from dies to die for and two different embossing folders.  The flower and chevrons were both cut out of felt, also from dies to die for.  I didn’t add a sentiment as I thought it could be suitable for lots of different occasions.

We have two sponsors this week, first we have Digi Doodle Shop and they are offering one lucky winner a $10.00 gift certificate to spend in their online store.  Our second sponsor is Quixotic Paperie and they are offering one lucky winner a £10.00 voucher to spend in their online store.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Addicted to stamps challenge – cakes and/or stitching

Paper sundaes challenge – let’s get cute

Kaboodle challenge – emboss it

The pink elephant challenge – hello sunshine (use yellow)

Deep ocean challenge – use punches/dies

Crafts and me challenge – embossing

Fab n funky challenge – no D.P.

My mum’s craft shop challenge – the great outdoors

Penny black Saturday challenge – no patterned paper

Crafter’s companion challenge – four legged friends

The challenge ends on Sunday at 8pm so you still have plenty of time to get your entries in.  I’m sure you can come up with something much more exciting and imaginative than I did and I really look forward to seeing what material you have used on your creations.  I’m off to do the boys packed lunch ready for school and then will be hitting the sack!!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sweet Stampin’ Guest DT card

This is going to be a super quick post from me tonight as it’s way past my bedtime!!  However I’m late posting my Guest DT card for this week’s Sweet Stampin’ challenge and wanted to get it done before the week ran ahead of me again lol!  I cannot believe that it is already the last week of being a guest but I’ve had a brilliant time and hopefully they’ve been happy with my cards!  The theme this week is “masculine” and here is my card:

cards5 005

cards5 004

I’ve used an image from Tickled Pink stamps called ‘Lil Lad Eric’ and I coloured him with promarkers and flex markers and I have to say I’m really pleased with his shabby/distressed looking jeans haha!  The papers are wild rose studio from the ‘for men’ paper stack and the plain kraft card is from dies to die for.  I distressed all the edges with my new tonic (Tim Holtz) tool which is much easier and quicker than using than my scissors.  I added my usual go-to male card embellishments of stars and buttons and added some faux stitching and my card was done!

The design team have created amazing samples so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.

There are two sponsors this week – Quixotic Paperie are offering a £10.00 voucher and Joanna Sheen is also offering a £10.00 voucher, so definitely two good reasons to join in with the fun!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Corrosive challenge – another dimension (2nd entry)

Freshly brewed challenge – double it (2 papers, 2 stars, 2 layers)

Paper pretties challenge – punches or die cuts

Crafty sentiments challenge – use only 2 papers

Do you stack up? challenge – distress

Southern girls challenge – so distressed

2 sisters challenge – anything goes

Allsorts challenge – anything goes

Delightful challenge – use patterned papers

Little darlings challenge – pearls

I hope you will be able to join in with the challenge this week.  I cannot wait to see what you create.  Have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Stampin’ GDT Card

Happy Sunday dear friends.  I hope you’ve had a great weekend so far, although I can’t believe it’s 6.00pm already – where has the day gone??  I’m here this afternoon to share my second card as Guest Designer over at Sweet Stampin’ challenge.  The challenge this week is “clean & Simple” which I know fills most people with dread, me included.  Here is my card:

clean & simple

clean & simple (close up)

I have used a brand new image from DigiStamp Boutique which is part of the offer of them month called ‘Daisy set 1’ which is available at a very special price for February – just £2.25 for 3 gorgeous images.  I coloured her with promarkers and flex markers and cut her out.  The pretty papers are from the me to you ‘spring chic’ paper pad and the plain card is from the papermill shop.  The sentiment strip is from pink petticoat.  I did some faux stitching with my fine liner pen and added a couple of pearls and viola my card was finished.  I have to say I think it looks like it isn’t finished but I’m sure some extra bits will find their way onto my card before I send it to anyone lol!  You really need to check out the DT cards over at the challenge blog as they are stunning.

There are two sponsors again this week, firstly stamp addicts are offering a £10.00 gift certificate to spend in their online store and the monthly sponsor for February is Joanna Sheen who is offering a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

2 sisters challenge – I {heart} you (image is holding a heart)

Allsorts challenge – free & easy part 2

Stamp with fun #139–DT card

Good morning dear friends.  I hope you all had a brilliant weekend.  We had a lovely time,  yesterday we went to the cinema to celebrate my son’s 15th birthday (his birthday is actually today) and we saw his choice of film – Johnny English reborn – which I have to say was quite funny, in a silly way of course.  So I am going to embarrass him now – HAPPY 15th BIRTHDAY LIAM, WE LOVE YOU LOTS AND HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY x x

Onto the reason you are here today!  It’s time for a new challenge over at stamp with fun challenge and this week we have a super easy theme for you of “stitching”, it can be real or faux, whatever you prefer.  I have done some faux stitching with a fine liner pen.  Here is my card:

SWF #139 - stitching

SWF #139 - stitching (close up)

This is the card I made for my eldest son to give to his brother.  I used a Kenny K image called ‘teen idol’ and coloured him with a mix of promarkers and flex markers.  The gorgeous papers are my mind’s eye from the ‘kraft funday happy days’ paper pad and the black cardstock is from the papermill shop.  I’ve distressed all the edges and added minimal embellishments (two ribbons which are recycled from a top I bought recently and 3 mini buttons).

The rest of the design team have created amazing samples to inspire you as always, so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.  We really appreciate the lovely comments you leave for us.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cupcake inspirations challenge – photo inspiration

Cutie Sunday challenge – birthday

Here comes the boys challenge – for the man/men in your lives (my son)

Kenny K’s krafty girlz challenge – stitching

Fab ‘n’ funky challenge – happy birthday

I love promarkers challenge – anything goes

Bee Crafty–November challenge

Oh my goodness I am hanging my head in shame as I completely forgot to blog my card for this month’s Bee Crafty challenge.  Merrigan I hope you can forgive me!!  Thankfully we still have 10 days until the new challenge begins so I hope you will have a chance to enter.  Our theme this month is all about “explosions or exploding” - consider using an explosion of fiery, sparkly embellishments or think about creating pop up and 'exploding' cards.  Here is my card:

Bee crafty #56 - explosion

Bee crafty #56 - explosion (close up)

Now when I made my card it was almost firework night so I used that as my inspiration.  I used “whimsical girl” but cut her out and snipped off her flowers and added stickles to make it look like she was holding sparklers.  It looks a bit pale in the picture but IRL it is super sparkly!.  I also thought the girl looked like she was looking up at the sky at the firework display!  It is a very simple card; I just used some glittery card by DCWV and orange ric rac for a bit of a colour pop.

The prize as always is your choice of any two downloads (with the exception of the sets & PDFs) from the bee crafty store.

The rest of the DT have made beautiful creations so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.  We really appreciate all the lovely comments you leave for us.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Heart song inspirations challenge – gold or glitter

Ooh la la creations challenge – BINGO (die cut, sparkle, ribbon)

Creative craft challenge – minimalistic

Tuesday throwdown challenge – lots of circles

Crafts and me challenge – simples

Delightful challenge – BINGO (add dimension, ribbon/lace, glitter/sparkle)

Scrapbook sisters challenge – anything goes

Stampavie and more challenge – anything but square

Crafty purple frog challenge – use orange

Shelly’s images challenge – anything goes

Southern girls challenge – embellishment BINGO (die cuts, gems, ribbon)

2 sisters challenge – let it sparkle

Crazy 4 challenges challenge – black, white + wow (orange)

Mark’s finest papers challenge – black, white + 1 other colour (orange)

The beary sweet challenge – your beary best (3rd entry)

I really hope you will be able to join in with our challenge – don’t forget you still have 10 days left to play!  Me and hubby went to his auntie’s funeral on Thursday and I have to say it was a beautiful service and there were so many people there it was wonderful to see how loved she was.

I hope you’re having a fantastic weekend so far and that you enjoy your Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.

Passion for promarkers #116–DT card

Good morning dear friends.  As it’s Tuesday I’m here with my card for this week’s passion for promarkers challenge.  This week the lovely Julie has set the theme and she has chosen “patchwork”.  I couldn’t believe it when I saw the theme as if you saw my cupcake craft card yesterday you will know that our theme over there is also patchwork this week – coincidence or what!!  Now I used a patchwork paper yesterday so thought I had better make a patchwork design myself for today’s card.  Here is my card:

PFP challenge 116 - patchwork

PFP challenge 116 - patchwork (close up)

I used papers from basic grey ‘Olivia’ paper pad and cut them up into small squares and stuck them together to create my larger patchwork square.  I then added some “faux” stitches and matted it onto black card.  The super cute image is from Lili of the Valley called ‘Maisie two balloons’ and I coloured her with promarkers.  I also seem to have gone mad for paper piecing this week as I paper pieced the balloons with some scrap bits of paper I had left from creating my patchwork.

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and the lucky winner will receive a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store.

The rest of the design team have created amazing samples as usual, so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.  We really appreciate all the lovely comments you leave for us.

Cupcake craft challenge #149–DT card

** THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY **

Please scroll down to see my Stamp with Fun DT card

Hello again, I promised I’d be back didn’t I?  I hope you are having a good morning so far.  Over at cupcake craft challenge we have a brand new challenge and this week the lovely Rachel has set the theme and has chosen ‘single layer card’.  Now as you know this is not my strong point and when I read the challenge I was filled with dread but hey that’s what a challenge is for I suppose.  Here is my card:

CCC challenge 149 - single layer card

CCC challenge 149 - single layer card (close up)

I started by embossing my card blank with my new sizzix embossing folder called ‘folksy circle’ (please click on the pic for a larger view and hopefully you can see the embossing a little better) and I used an old and neglected clear stamp set from Elzybells (which is now sadly closed) and stamped the girl, sweetie and sentiment directly onto the card blank.  I coloured them with my promarkers and added some bright red pearls as a finishing touch.  Such a quick and simple card but still not my favourite type of card, I need my papers and layers!!

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp and the lucky winner will receive a $20.00 voucher to spend in their online store.

SimonSaysStampBlinkie1

We also have our ‘icing on the cupcake’ sponsor and for July that is polka doodles and the lucky winner will receive 4 Christmas stamps.

My mum’s craft shop challenge – something old/something new (my image is old/embossing folder is new)

Aud sentiments challenge – food or drink

Allsorts challenge – free and easy

Catch the bug challenge – anything goes

So that’s it from me today.  I hope you can join in with our challenge and I can’t wait to see your gorgeous creations.  Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.

Passion for promarkers #47 – DT card

Over at passion for promarkers challenge this week Ida has chosen the theme and she wants us to ‘create our background using only our promarkers’.  Now I have to say that when the DT saw the theme there were lots of groans and moans but everyone has done a terrific job.

Here is my effort:

PFP challenge 47 - create your own background

PFP challenge 47 - create your own background (close up)

To create my background I used lavender, yellow and ice grey 2 promarkers.  I coloured in 3 pieces of SU whisper white card with my 3 colours and then punched out 3 different size circles and randomly stuck them to a larger square of white card deliberately placing a few over the edge of the card.  I doodled around each circle with a black fine liner pen and cut off the overlapping circles.  I then placed this card onto a piece of purple card to use as my base.  I also coloured the raffia and ribbon with the promarkers to match my card.  I used a freebie image from pollycraft called ‘cody’ which I originally printed out to enter the recent DT call but unfortunately ran out of time to enter.  I coloured the image with the following promarkers:

Jeans – ice grey 2, ice grey 4, yellow and mustard

T-shirt, hat and shoes – lavender, lilac, yellow and mustard

Hair – yellow and mustard

Skin – ivory, blush and pastel pink

Shading – cool grey 1

The sentiment is SU from the ‘wow flowers’ stamp set and this was cut out with my SU oval all punches.  The image was cut out with my oval nesties.  I deliberately kept the card simple as I wanted to show as much of my background as I could. Sometimes you have an idea in your head but it doesn’t turn out as planned but I am actually quite pleased with how it turned out in the end.

Our sponsor this week is Letraset and one lucky winner will receive a 5 pack of promarkers.

ProMarkerInfo

I can’t wait to see what you create this week and look forward to visiting your blogs.

Don’t forget we have another Digi Friday tutorial on the Weekend Workshop on Friday and another chance to win an prize from our sponsor.

PFP challenge 41 - back to nature

PFP challenge 41 - back to nature (close up)

We have a brand new challenge for you over at Passion for Promarkers this week.  Caryn has chosen the theme of ‘back to nature’ and you can use any colour promarkers you like.  For my card I used another new image from DigiStamp Boutique, which was released yesterday called ‘Spring Coco’ and I coloured it with the following promarkers:

Coco – tan, caramel, cinnamon and pastel pink

Flowers – tulip yellow, sunflower, salmon pink, meadow green and apple

Grass – meadow green and apple

Shading – ice grey 1

The gorgeous papers are from a paper pad by Wild Rose Studio called ‘Milton and co’ and the plain card is SU (chocolate chip – yes I think I’m addicted lol).  The flowers are from wild orchid crafts and the pearls are kaisercraft.  The sentiment is PM and was cut out with my SU oval all punches.

Our sponsor this week is Letraset and the lucky winner will receive a 5 pack of promarkers.

Passion for promarkers #37 – DT card

PFP challenge 37 - all creatures great and small

PFP challenge 37 - all creatures great and small (close up)

This week’s challenge over at passion for promarkers has been chosen by the lovely Sarah and she has asked for ‘all creatures great and small’, so grab your animal/insect images and get creating!  You can use any colour promarkers as long as you use the theme.

For my card I used a yet to be released image from the greeting farm called ‘Oliver’ from the Oliver & Amelia ‘Happy Days’ stamp set.  This set is due for release on March 1st and I for one will be in the queue to get it!!  I was lucky enough to receive this image as a RAK from Tracy from Dies to Die For.  The papers are all BG from the archaic paper pad and the plain brown card is SU (chocolate chip).  The buttons are from my stash and the sentiment is penny black.  I used my rectangle nesties to cut out the image.  The promarkers I used for my card are:

3 dinosaurs – walnut, umber, marsh green and pear green

Clothes and shoes – cornflower, amber, almond, caramel

Skin – ivory, blush and pastel pink

Hair – tan, caramel and cinnamon

Outline and shading – ice grey 1 (although I originally did it with almond but didn’t like it, so went over it with the ice grey 1 lol!).

Our sponsor this week is Letraset and one lucky winner will receive a 5 pack of promarkers.
