Raise the bar – guest bar tender!

Last week I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the top 3 cards on the raise the bar challenge and my prize was a guest bar-tender slot for today’s new challenge.  Our theme was “my retreat” and I used my living room as my inspiration.  Basically since we’ve had Sky multi-room put in upstairs my children never watch TV downstairs so I can record and watch whatever I want, whenever I want, without having to fight over the remote – bliss!!  My living room has a red accent wall and cream walls and a red leather settee and light brown units and wood floor – so I used these colours for the basis of my card:

I hope you all having a good Friday, my day has been emotionally draining.  My father is in hospital having a knee replacement and he went to theatre this morning.  He was fine the first time I popped in to say hello but by visiting time this afternoon he was in tremendous pain and didn’t know what to do with himself.  I actually cried as I left him as I felt so sorry for him.  Hopefully he will be a little better tomorrow and then the hard work starts – getting him back on his feet.  Although I will be back and forth the hospital visiting my father I am so looking forward to this long weekend as work is crazy at the moment.

Have a wonderful weekend, whatever you are doing.  I hope the weather improves a bit though, it’s horrible here.

Hello and welcome to our new challenge over at passion for promarkers challenge.  Our theme this week has been chosen by Michele and she has given us a lovely sketch to use but she also wants us to make our own handmade flowers

Here is Michele’s sketch:

I really loved using Michele’s sketch, cos it’s got lots of layers!!  I promise you IRL the colours aren’t quite so gaudy, but once again my photography skills are useless!!  I decided to make ‘lollipop’ flowers again, as I think they look really cute.

To colour my image I used the following promarkers:

Dress – lime green, lime zest and rose pink

Tights – lime green and bright green

Shoes and bows in hair – rose pink

Skin – ivory, blush and pastel pink

Hair – Tan and caramel

Shading – cool grey 1

White gel pen for highlights

Our sponsor this week is Letraset and one lucky winner will receive a 5 pack of promarkers.

The sugar bowl challenge #33

Hello again, I have another card to share with you.  I’ve been trying to be a little more productive the last week and actually enter the cards I make for challenges before the deadline passes lol!  I made this card for the sugar bowl challenge which is a gorgeous sketch:

image

As well as the sketch they asked for something floral to be included in your card.  Now my card doesn’t have obvious flowers but the paper does have some flowers on it, so I hope that will be ok.

Here is my effort, which I made for my boys to give to their grandmother for her birthday:

b'day card (50)

I don’t know what’s going on with my photography skills at the moment but every photo I take is useless – think I’ll have to consider taking a photography course in the near future.

I really like this image, and I’ll have to make the effort to use it more, as it’s very sweet (no pun intended).

I hope you are all having a good day, will be back tomorrow with another badly photographed card to share with you lol!  Thanks for stopping by.

Passion for promarkers #48 – DT project

Morning everyone and welcome to a new challenge over a passion for promarkers challenge.  Our theme this week has been chosen by Maria and is ‘in the garden’.  Now this week I decided not to make a card and opted for a bookmark instead.

I’ve added the third picture to show the embossed lines, which are at the top and bottom of the bookmark as it’s difficult to see them in the main picture (due to my poor photography skills).  I used my new MS embossing board for the first time!!

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and one lucky winner will receive a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store.

Hello I’m back again with my DT card for the cupcake craft challenge.  This week I had the pleasure of choosing the theme and as later this week we have St. George’s Day I decided to go for ‘red and white’.  As I mentioned earlier I made this card for my husband’s birthday yesterday and chose this image as he is a big softie and also he’s very cute (just like this big guy) .

Our sponsor this week is KLM digi stamps and one lucky winner will receive 3 digi images of their choice from their online store.

We have a prize up for grabs this week – a gorgeous K & Co paper pad.
