Marcea’s “music saves my soul” #7

Good morning everyone, I can’t believe my week off work has gone already – I haven’t achieved half of what I wanted to do lol!  I’m back again this morning to share my tune for Marcea’s “music saves my soul” which unbelievably is already on week 7.

music

The song I have chosen this week is Roxette’s “fading like a flower”.  I have to say I was a big Roxette fan back in the day and still love most of their songs now :)  I hope you enjoy my choice this week and I look forward to seeing what songs you all pick.

Have a great weekend, I hope you all have a hauntingly happy halloween :)  Thanks for stopping by today.

Look at this beauty!

**This is my second post for today **

Please scroll down to see my Charisma Cardz DT card

I won a competition over at Mrs A’s blog a little while ago and the prize was a beautiful handmade bag using Japanese silks.  I’m so late blogging the pictures but better late than never eh?  The bag is even more gorgeous IRL and I will treasure it forever.  Thank you so much Mrs A, I really appreciate how much work you must have put into it – bearing in mind I can just about sew a button on lol!  Here is the bag (I “borrowed” the pics from Mrs A’s blog as mine were useless):denise 001

This is where Mrs A got her inspiration from

Thank you doesn’t seem enough to say but I want to say how pleased I am with it and how lucky I was to win your little competition.  If you haven’t visited Mrs A’s blog before – WHY NOT!!  Please pop over and take a look at her gorgeous creations, you won’t be disappointed and I bet you’ll visit again.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Charisma cardz #43 – DT card

Good morning everyone, I hope you are enjoying your week so far.  I cannot believe it’s Thursday already, my week off work is nearly gone *boohoo* but at least I still have a few more days left.  Another plus is that I’ve actually started my Christmas shopping so I’m not panicking as much as I was lol!  I’m here this morning to share with you my DT card for this week’s charisma cardz challenge.  This week’s challenge has been set by Alie and she has chosen “match master” which means create and card and matching item for example you could decorate your envelope to match, make a matching tag or box, it’s entirely up to you.  I decided to decorate my envelope (as I was short on time).  I made my card for my hubby’s friend at work and only had a night’s notice to make it (why do men always do that?).  Here it is:

Stamp with fun #82 – DT card

Good morning everyone, it’s the first day of my week off so I am very happy, and also a brand new challenge over at stamp with fun challenge.  This week we have a fun sketch by Mona to use.  Here is the sketch:

SWF #82 sketch

and here is my card:

SWF #82 - sketch

SWF #82 - sketch (close up)I was asked by a friend in work to make an engagement card and thought this sketch was ideal.  I saw this super cute digi image over at spesch stamps and thought it was perfect and so useful.  I normally go around my image with an ice grey 1 promarker but I thought as the card was very pastel that I would try the buttercup promarker for a change – I have to say I’m not that happy with it so will probably be sticking to the ice grey in future.

Please check out the rest of the DT cards as they are gorgeous as always, so why not pop over to the challenge blog and take a look.  We always read your comments and really appreciate them.

I can enter my card into the following challenges:

A rare Sunday post!!

I bet you are all wondering what is going on – why am I posting on a Sunday!!  I know its a very rare occurrence these days but as I have the week off next week I can afford to be a little more relaxed this weekend – which means more crafting for me *yay*.  I did say to myself last week that I wasn’t going to make any more halloween cards but my last order came from elzybells (so sad that it’s closed now) and I just had to ink up my new stamp.  Here is my card:

halloween card

halloween card (close up)

Isn’t she just so cute?  However I have spent the most part of the afternoon looking for a suitable sentiment.  I cannot believe that I don’t have a simple “happy halloween” stamp (wishing I had got one from elzybells now).  Luckily after searching through what seemed like most of my stash I stumbled upon these wooden “scrabble” tiles which actually work quite well I think.  I was aiming for a CAS (clean and simple) style card and didn’t want to overload my card too much with embellishments – do you think I succeeded.  It’s just when I make these sorts of cards I always feel they don’t look quite finished.

I can enter my card into the following challenges:

Corrosive challenge – halloween (or orange and black colour scheme)

OSAAT challenge – any celebration

Order of the opus gluei challenge – wood (my tiles are wood)

The crazy challenge – halloween

The pink elephant challenge – brown and orange

Stamps & fun = creativity challenge – halloween or autumn

Creative craft challenge – trick or treat

Crafts and me challenge – halloween

Creative belli challenge – pumpkins and/or sketch

Creative cottage challenge – halloween

Let’s craft and create challenge – halloween

Cute card Thursday challenge – sketch

Digi doodle challenge – keep it simple

Hanna & friends challenge – halloween

Paper cutz challenge – halloween using stars, circles, diamonds or crescents (my paper has circles on it)

Stamp magic challenge – sewing (mine is faux using a white gel pen)

Stampin’ for the weekend challenge – celebrate the time of year (halloween)

Totally papercrafts challenge – stick a number on it (there are numbers on the letter tiles)

2 sisters challenge – anything goes

Crazy 4 challenges challenge – halloween

Crafty purple frog challenge – anything goes

I am definitely saying that this is my last halloween card for this year (and besides I need to get a wiggle on with my Christmas cards).  I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.  I will be back tomorrow with my DT cards for stamp with fun challenge and cupcake craft challenge so please pop back then if you can.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Marcea’s “music saves my soul” #6

Good morning – it’s Saturday *yay* and I have next week off from work so I am super happy :)  I’m joining in with Marcea’s “music saves my soul” again this week and I love hearing what everyone shares too.

music

I have chosen a brilliant song by Evanescence called “going under” this week as I think Amy Lee has the most beautiful voice so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I would also like to say hello *waves* to my new followers, I really appreciate all your support.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Charisma cardz #42 – DT card

Good morning everyone, I can’t believe it’s Thursday already and unbelievably I am sharing with you my 3rd DT card for the charisma cardz challenge.  Wow where did the time go?  This week over at charisma cardz the theme has been set by Lora and she has chosen “vintage”.  Now it is not my most favourite theme ever and I’ve probably gone more distressed than vintage on my card but I’m quite happy with the finished result.  Here is my card:

charisma cardz #42 - vintage

charisma cardz #42 - vintage (close up)

The look I was trying to achieve was old photograph i.e faded/washed out colours and I think the colours are reminiscent of Victorian times.  Well like I say I’m quite happy with the overall card and for once I’m really pleased with my colouring (which is quite rare).

We have two sponsors this week, the first is bunny zoe crafts and they are offering one lucky winner the prize of vintage Tilda, vintage crochet flowers and also a set of 6 Christmas tree charms.  bunny zoe'simage

Our second sponsor is all that scraps and they are offering one lucky winner the prize of any cc designs stamp set or 4 single stamps.

All that scraps

The rest of the DT have created gorgeous samples (and much more vintagey (sp?) than me.  Please pop over to the challenge blog and take a look.  All your lovely comments are much appreciated.

Passion for promarkers #74 – DT card

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Well the weather has turned a bit chilly hasn’t it?  I think my winter woollies will be out soon.  Enough of my rambling I’m here today to share with you my DT card for this week’s passion for promarkers challenge.  This week’s challenge has been set by the lovely Anja and she has chosen “make a pink/white or purple/white Christmas card”.  Don’t forget you must use your promarkers or aqua markers to be eligible for our prize.  Here is my card:

PFP challenge 74 - purple or pink & white Christmas

PFP challenge 74 - purple or pink & white Christmas (close up)

Now as I thought most of you would probably go for a pink/white Christmas card I decided to plump for a purple/white one instead and chose this gorgeous LOTV image.  It’s the first time I’ve inked him up but it definitely won’t be the last!  The papers aren’t actually Christmas papers but I thought the dotty paper looked a bit like snow falling :)

Our sponsor this week is whiff of joy stamps and one lucky person will win 1 stamp of their choice.

Whiff of Joy

The rest of the design team have created amazing cards for your inspiration once again this week, so why not pop over and take a look.  Your support and kind words really mean the world to us.
