Winter wonderland challenge–DT card

Good morning dear friends.  Well I hope you’re enjoying the “indian summer” we’re experiencing at the moment – boy it’s been really hot hasn’t it?  It’s so much nicer than all the rain we’ve been having lately and let’s hope it lasts for the weekend.

I’m here this morning to share my card for this week’s challenge over at winter wonderland challenge.  This week it’s Squirrel’s turn from Team Marianne to set the theme and she has chosen “how charming”, so we would like to see a charm on your creation somewhere.  Now I have to say I have an aversion to charms as I don’t really know how to attach them properly.  Everyone else seems to use them without much bother but I’m useless however I took the challenge and here is my card:

WW #17 - how charming

WW #17 - how charming (close up)

I have used a newly released super cute image from DigiStamp Boutique called ‘sketchy snow person’ and coloured him with promarkers and I added stickles for the glistening snow.  The gorgeous papers are dovecraft from the ‘fancy Christmas’ paper pack and the fantastic sentiment strips are by pink petticoat from the ‘sentiment ribbons’ set.  I added my snowflake charm onto some baker’s twine and tied it around my top layer of patterned paper.

Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps and one lucky winner will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to spend in their online store.

The rest of the design team have created amazing samples as always, so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.  We really appreciate all the lovely comments you leave for us.

Passion for promarkers #119–DT card

Good morning dear friends.  I hope you are looking forward to the mini heat-wave they’re predicting for the rest of this week – won’t it make such a difference to have some dry and sunny days after all the rain we’ve had over the last few weeks.  It’s a shame it will only be for a few days though!

I’m here this morning with my DT card for this week’s passion for promarkers challenge and this week the lovely Tracy has set the theme and she has chosen “planes, trains and automobiles”.  Quite a straight forward theme this week, just include one of those modes of transport on your cards.  Don’t forget to be eligible for our prize draw you must use your promarkers, aqua markers, tria markers or flex markers.

I decided to make an easel card this week, as I don’t seem to have made one for such a long time.  However when it came time to photograph it I realised why lol!!  Why are they so difficult to get a good photo of?  Anyway here is my card:

PFP challenge 119 - planes, trains and automobiles

PFP challenge 119 - planes, trains and automobiles (close up)

PFP challenge 119 - planes, trains and automobiles (side view)

I have used a cute image from DigiStamp Boutique called “Zoe driving” and coloured her with a mix of promarkers and flex markers.  The papers are first edition from the ‘summer breeze’ paper pad and the gorgeous flowers were a pressie from my lovely crafty friend Donna

Our sponsor this week is Letraset and the lucky winner will receive one of their promarker stamping kits.

Letraset Logo

On the subject of Letraset, we have been asked to inform you that the lighter flex markers may appear to be faulty (and seem to have no colour ) but they need to be primed before use so that the colour flows through to the nib.  You can read all about it on the Letraset site here.

The rest of the design team have created amazing samples to inspire you, so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.  We really appreciate the lovely comments you leave for us.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Addicted to stamps challenge – stitching (mine is faux using a pen)

Passion for promarkers #116–DT card

Good morning dear friends.  As it’s Tuesday I’m here with my card for this week’s passion for promarkers challenge.  This week the lovely Julie has set the theme and she has chosen “patchwork”.  I couldn’t believe it when I saw the theme as if you saw my cupcake craft card yesterday you will know that our theme over there is also patchwork this week – coincidence or what!!  Now I used a patchwork paper yesterday so thought I had better make a patchwork design myself for today’s card.  Here is my card:

PFP challenge 116 - patchwork

PFP challenge 116 - patchwork (close up)

I used papers from basic grey ‘Olivia’ paper pad and cut them up into small squares and stuck them together to create my larger patchwork square.  I then added some “faux” stitches and matted it onto black card.  The super cute image is from Lili of the Valley called ‘Maisie two balloons’ and I coloured her with promarkers.  I also seem to have gone mad for paper piecing this week as I paper pieced the balloons with some scrap bits of paper I had left from creating my patchwork.

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and the lucky winner will receive a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store.

I was lucky enough to find this gorgeous patchwork paper in one of my basic grey paper pads so decided to use that.  The image is from wild rose studio called ‘Mia with kitten’ and I decided to do some paper piecing, which I haven’t tried for such a long time.  The rest of the image is coloured with promarkers.  I think the finished card is a bit busy but overall I’m quite happy with it.

We are sponsored this week by Simon Says Stamp and one lucky winner will receive a $20.00 voucher to spend in their online store.
