PFP Week 9 – DT card

PM challenge 9 - rose pink & lime

PM challenge 9 - rose pink & lime (close up 1)

PM challenge 9 - rose pink & lime (inside)

This week’s challenge over at Passion for Promarkers is to use the colours Rose Pink and Lime and was chosen by the lovely Ida and we are lucky to be sponsored by Papirloftet a craft store based in Norway.  They do the most gorgeous embellishments (flowers, ribbon, lace etc) as well as papers and all the usual crafty stuff.  All of the DT were sent a goodie bag with some of their products to use on our cards.  I decided to use as much as I could and I only added the image (and of course promarkers to colour it), the tiny brad to hold the charm and the stamps away journalling stamp I used on the inside, everything else was provided by Papirloftet.  I used an image kindly sent to me by Gina (I’m using them up lol!) and coloured it with the following promarkers:

Hair – Sandstone, cinnamon and cocoa

Jacket & boots – Rose pink and blender

Skirt, umbrella & buttons – lime green and blender

Skin – Ivory and blush

Socks – Meadow green, blender and cool grey 1

For the outline I used cool grey 1 and I added highlights to the hair with a white gel pen.

I don’t very often make gatefold cards but as one was provided I decided to use it and I’m really happy with the way it turned out – not my usual style (no patterned paper – OMG) but good nonetheless.  One thing I did forget to do was cover the back of my image with a plain piece of card to cover the colouring and also the back of the brad!

Please don’t forget to check out all the DT cards as they are stunning.  The lucky person chosen this week will win a gorgeous pack of goodies from Papirloftet (I’m so jealous, look at those flowers – yum!).

We hope you can find the time to enter our challenge this week and we look forward to seeing all your gorgeous creations.  Thanks for stopping by today.

ABC challenge

sympathy card (1)

The challenge over at ABC this week is ‘T for two-tone’ which means you must only use 2 colours on your project (not including hair/skin).  Well I recently made a sympathy card for a lady at work and this fit the bill perfectly.  I stamped the elzybells image and lightly coloured it with my aqua promarker.  The plain black cs is from the papermill shop and the plain blue cs is bazzill bling.  The small strips of dp are DCWV from the luxury stack and the velvet ribbon is from my stash.  The adhesive pearls are kanban and the sentiment is by stamps away.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Friday sketchers #54

This is my card for this week's sketch over at Friday sketchers. I had to make a sympathy card for a lady at work so I thought I'd combine the two. Now I normally make subdued sympathy cards but this one is a bit brighter than usual and I hope the lady in work likes it. Anyway I stamped my new greeting farm image from the set called 'for someone' and coloured it with promarkers (lilac, lavender, amethyst, meadow green, apple green and slate). I used dp by making memories and the sentiment is from stamps away. I know the sentiment is slightly out of place but I hope it's allowed. The adhesive pearls are kanban (yay I've got more!) and the buttons and bow are from my stash (I had to add the bow as I dropped my inkpad on my card after I finished it - don't you just hate it when that happens lol!). Hope you all have a good day and thanks for stopping by.

Sympathy card

This is a sympathy card I made for a friend at work. First of all I cut a cross using a sizzix die and then ran it through the CB with the divine swirls embossing folder. I entwined a single rose around the cross (from ebay) and attached to my cs base with foam pads. The lush dp is BG and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The sentiment is stamps away and the decorative border was created with my fiskars border punch. I added some dots around the panels with a fineliner pen. Thanks for stopping by.

ABC challenge - F is for flowers

I know I promised you (or threatened you) with more Mother's Day cards but I thought I'd give you a breather and show you a sympathy card I made recently. I am entering this card for this week's ABC challenge which is 'F is for flowers'. The image is elyzbells and I lightly coloured it with pro-markers. The dp is from a paper pack (lace) from Joanna Sheen. The sentiment is a clear stamp by stamps away and the adhesive stones are PM. The ric rac ribbon is from my stash. A fairly simple card but I prefer my sympathy cards to be that way, slightly understated even. Hope you are having a good day. Thanks for stopping by.

Mojo sketch challenge #73

Here is my card for this week's mojo monday sketch challenge, which is obviously a sketch (d'oh!). I stamped the elzybells image and lightly coloured it with my pro-markers. The plain cs is from the papermill shop and with the light blue cs I stamped the PM clear stamp image in a contrasting cat's eye chalk ink pad for a subtle background (click on the pic for a closer look). The sentiment is by stamps away and the ribbon is from my stash. Around the image panel I pierced some holes with my pokey tool and added faux stitching with a white gel pen. The adhesive stones are PM. Thanks for looking.

Sketch Saturday #28

I made this card for a friend at work. Her daughter's friend is moving to turkey to teach english and she wanted a 'girly card with suitcases', I think this fits the bill. I stamped the stamps away suitcase image twice on plain dp and cut them out. I used dp by kaiser craft (not much left of my blog candy winnings from Han now). The ribbon is by Anita's and the flowers were bought on eBay a long time ago. The oval was punched from white cs with my marvy punch and inked around the edges. The sentiment was done on my pc. The sketch is from this week's sketch saturday challenge and for once I'm on time (makes a change). Thanks for looking.

Retirement card

I was asked to make a retirement card for a friend at work. I love this penny black image and yes I know I use it for every retirement card but I think it fits the bill perfectly. I coloured the image with my pro-markers and added a little dot of stickles to the cocktail glass. I used dp by kaiser craft (that was part of the blog candy from Han). I used pearl dots from craftybitz (I think) and the sentiment was done on my pc. The large flower is by prima and the smaller flower is from my stash. I got new 'stitch' stamps from stamps away and tried them out on this card. Some of the edges went a little awry but overall I like the result (just need a bit more practice at lining them up). Thanks for looking.

Lily of the Valley, Sketch Saturday & Cute Card Thursday Challenges

I've managed to combine 3 challenges on this card (it would have been 4 but due to the problems with my internet connection I couldn't upload the card in time for the papertake challenge). The Lily of the Valley challenge this week was "four legged friends", the CCT challenge was "snow & snowflakes" and the sketch saturday is obviously a sketch. I stamped the reindeer image by stamps away and coloured him with my pro-markers. I added stickles to the bottom of the image to mimic snow. The green cs is bazzill and the dp is a freebie from a craft magazine. The snowflake brads are by creative impressions and the sentiment is by papermania. The sketch was lovely to use and I will definitely be pulling this one out again. Thanks for looking.

I'm having trouble with the link to my signature so I'll have to sign off the old fashioned way!!

Lots of love, Denise x

This is my entry for this week's Sketch Saturday. I stamped the reindeer from stamps away and coloured him with my pro-markers. The words dp is by ATD and the green dp is from the papermill shop. White cs is from my stash. I punched the snowflakes with my dovecraft punch and added adhesive stones by papermania. The round sentiment is also by stamps away. Hope you like, thanks for looking.

Forever friends wedding!

I made this card for a friend to give to her brother and soon to be sister-in-law (who is italian by the way). I stamped the forever friends wedding couple and coloured them with my pro-markers. I added stickles to the veil and hat band for added bling. I used dp by DCWV from the wedding stack and ribbon from my stash. The wedding day sentiment is by stamps away and the names were done with doodlebug rub-ons. Thanks for looking.

Happy 15th Anniversary

This is a card that I made for my DH (dear husband) for our 15th Wedding Anniversary, which was last Thursday 3rd July. I stamped 3 Daisy Bucket Design hearts and cut them out. I used my pc for the sentiment at the top and the stamped sentiment (which I thought was most appropriate) is by Stamps Away. The red music dp was a small scrap that I had left so not sure who it's by. The black cs is from the papermill shop. I used DCWV adhesive ribbon and adhesive stones by papermania.
I had to show you the wonderful flowers that my DH bought me for our anniversary. Aren't they gorgeous. I'm so lucky to have him ;) Thanks for looking.
