A late Happy New Year (and a card)!!

I'm sorry this is a little late but I worked yesterday and then just came home and chilled out but........HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope you all have a healthy and wealthy 2009. Anyway onto my card. I made this card for the Stamp Something challenge (hope I'm just in time). I stamped the rubber stampede image and used my marvy markers to ink directly on the stamp. I used dp by PM and plain green paper from my stash. The sentiment is by elzybells and the adhesive dots are from QVC. I punched a scalloped circle with my marvy paper punch and added the orange flower (which was a pressie from Julie) and topped it off with a button from my stash. Thanks for looking.

One Stop Craft Challenge & Stamp Something Challenge

I made this card for my mother to say thank you to the ward staff for looking after my grandfather so well whilst he was in hospital. I used the sketch from this week's OSCC and by luck the theme for stamp something this week is 'Thanks'. I used my new stamp set called pocket silhouettes from SU! and used my marvy markers to repeat stamp two of the images. I also added stickles to the flowers. The plain green cs is bazzill and the lovely dp was a freebie from Jules (I've joined her stamping 10 club). The ribbon was from my stash and the sentiment is also from the SU! set. Thanks for looking.

A trio of flowers

Here is another card I made for a friend at work. I stamped the verve visual flower and stem three times using my marvy markers. I used dp by 3 bugs in a rug and plain cs from the papermill shop. The sentiment was done on my pc and the adhesive stones are papermania. A very simple card but it looks quite effective IRL. Thanks for looking.

60th birthday

A lady at work asked me to make a 60th birthday card for her friend. I stamped the flower by rubber stampede 3 times using my marvy markers. I used a pair of decorative scissors by fiskars to shape the corners of my image panel. The gorgeous dp is basic grey and the plain cs is bazzill bling. I used ribbon and flowers from my stash and adhesive stones by papermania. The sentiment was done on my pc. Thanks for looking.

A happy hello

I made this card for a challenge ages ago but didn't make it in time and forgot all about it. I stamped the apple from the tart & tangy set by stamping up 4 times using my marvy markers and punched them out with my marvy square scallop paper punch. The dp is from a paper pack by Joanna Sheen and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is from a set of three by hero arts. I also pricked a tiny border alongside my sentiment with my pricking tool for added interest. As you can see in the photo I also decorated my envelope to match my card. Thanks for looking.

90th birthday (part 3)

This is the 3rd 90th birthday card that I made. I stamped the image by stampendous using my marvy markers. The plain green paper was in a paper stack that I got from QVC a long time ago and the gingham dp is by magenta. The ribbon and flower are from my stash and the adhesive stones are by papermania. I used my pc for the sentiment. Thanks for looking.

Wedding day card

I made this card for a friend at work. I stamped the stamping bella image and coloured it with a combination of pencils and marvy markers, although not entirely happy with my colouring on this card. I used Taylor's sketch from last Friday as I really liked the layout. The dp is basic grey and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. I used my pc for the sentiment and adhesive gems are by papermania. Thanks for looking.

OCC Challenge

This week's OCC challenge was to follow a sketch and this is what I came up with. The dp came from a pack I got from QVC and the plain brown cs is bazzill. The magnolia image was kindly sent to me by Diane (again) and I watercoloured it with my marvy markers. Not too sure about this one as I feel there's "something" missing. Thanks for looking.

New home

My friend wanted a new home card suitable for a girl, and this is what I came up with. I used a magnolia image sent to me by Diane at http://pink-sunflower.blogspot.com/ which I cut out and watercoloured with my marvy markers. The dp I used didn't have a name on it so it possibly came from a stack that I bought from QVC (but not 100% sure). The plain green cs is from the papermill shop. The adhesive stones are by papermania. I used my pc for the wording. Thanks for looking.

Penny Black & Friday Sketchers challenge

Another combined challenge!! The penny black challenge this week was pink, green & brown and obviously the Friday Sketchers was to follow a sketch (d'oh). I stamped the penny black flower chicky image and watercoloured with marvy markers. The flower dp is me & my BIG ideas, crackle dp is from a stack from QVC, plain green cs is from the papermill shop. Small piece of brown cs is bazill. Rub-on (which is a bit difficult to see) is by Pebbles Inc. Flowers are from my stash. Gem brads and adhesive stones are by papermania. I'm not that happy with this card as I stuck the small pieces of dp down in the wrong order and it looks a bit "off" but hey we have to show the bad as well as the good don't we? Thanks for looking.

CCT Challenge - nothing like last minute!

I'm typing this at 8.16am Thursday morning so I hope it will still count for this week's CCT challenge which was No Patterned Paper. I repeatedly stamped the Anita's stamp with blue stazon onto white card and filled in the spaces with a 3 dot stamp by elusive images using a white versacolor cube. I used a small piece of brown bazill cs at the top. The image and present sentiment is by CC designs and the happy birthday stamp is by elusive images. I watercoloured the image with my trusty marvy markers and highlighted the bows on the presents with my sakura clear stardust pen. Apologies for the poor photo but I took it in a rush this morning to get it on the blog. Thanks for looking.

OCCC & Papertake Challenge

Due to time constraints (see previous post) I have had to try and combine as many challenges as I can this week. Our Creative Corner Challenge this week was to use Basic Grey Paper and the Papertake Challenge was to make a thank you card. I stamped the three flowers (woodware) and watercoloured with marvy markers and highlighted areas with my sakura stardust pen. The basic grey dp was blush and two scoops and I used plain red cs from the papermill shop. The image is Hero Arts which I stamped with brown stazon for a more vintage look to compliment the gorgeous papers. Thanks for looking.

Penny Black Challenge and CCT challenge

Due to time constraints my participation in the various challenges around has been very poor of late so this week I decided to try and combine challenges where I could. Therefore I combined the Penny Black challenge (friendship)and the Cute Card Thursday challenge (birthday card) and this is the result. I used a stamped image kindly sent to me (sorry girls I've received so many lately and they've all got mixed up and can't remember who sent it :( I watercoloured the image with marvy markers and highlighted the present with my sakura stardust pen. I stamped the stampendous sentiment and used a provocraft rub-on at the bottom. Flowers and brads from my stash. Ribbon is by American Crafts. Thanks for looking.

More birthday cards

For the first card I used an image kindly sent to me by Diane at Pink Sunflower, which I watercoloured with my marvy markers. The flowery dp is by DCWV and the plain cs is bazzill. I punched out three small flowers and added papermania adhesive stones to the centre. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. The sticky ribbon is by papermania. I used a sakura stardust jelly roll pen to highlight the parcels on the image.

For the second card I used a stamping bella image (again kindly from Tracy at Dies to Die For), watercoloured with marvy markers. I added stickles to her hair and coffee cup and used a sakura white glaze pen for the dots on her chair . The sentiment is by stampendous and the dp is by american crafts. The plain blue cs is bazzill. I added a few papermania adhesive stones for added bling. Thanks for looking.

Friend card

I made this card for a close friend, whose birthday was this week. I used a stamping bella image kindly sent to me by Tracy at Dies to Die For which I watercoloured with my marvy markers. I used a sentiment by dovecraft on the image panel. The flowery dp is from the glitter stack by DCWV but I can't remember who makes the dotty paper (sorry) as I've used it lots lately and don't have any left. The birthday sentiment is by stampendous. The flower and brad are from my stash. Thanks for looking.

My homage to Mish Mash!

I don't know if you've visited Michelle's blog (http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/) but you really should. Her work is exceptional and I had a go at trying my hand at her notelets. I don't think they're a patch on the original but I was quite happy with the way they turned out. I used a plain piece of white cs matted onto pink cs as my base. I stamped the butterfly from verve visual 'petals & stems' set and watercoloured with my marvy markers. I cut them out with my circle punch and stuck them to a scallop of plain green cs. I used me and my big ideas dp and sentiment by stampendous. I also stamped the envelopes with the butterfly and sentiment stamps. Thanks for looking.

Another male card part 2!

As I said in my earlier post I not that confident making male cards but over the last week or so that all I've been asked to make (typical eh!). This was for a friend in work (who also asked for the farm themed card). I again used the Boys Toys set by See D's and watercoloured the images with my marvy markers. The DP is from the masculine paper pack by dovecraft (as you can tell I think this pack is fab). The blue card is by bazzill and onto that I stamped the dashed circle from daisy bucket designs for a little more impact. Sentiment as usual was done on my pc. Thanks for looking.

80th Birthday

I needed to make a card for an 80 year old man. I used an image from the Boys Toys set by See D's and watercoloured it with my marvy markers (I don't think you can see that well in the pic but I added diamond glaze to the wine glass). I distressed the image panel and the green cardstock panel with my heidi swapp edge distresser. This is the first time I've used this tool but I like the finished result, definitely one to use again. The DP is again from the masculine paper pack by dovecraft and I used my pc for the sentiment. The brad is from my stash. For a little extra detail I paper-pricked on the image panel and sentiment panel. Thanks for looking.

Another male card

A friend at work asked me to make a farm themed card for her son who works on a farm. I remembered a free set of stamps from a magazine that I had which exactly fitted the bill. I coloured the animals with my marvy markers and mounted them on bazzill cardstock. The DP is from a masculine paper pack by dovecraft (I think). The sentiment is done on my pc and the sticky ribbon is by Anita's. Thanks for looking.

Kitty's birthday card

I made this card for a fellow blogger, Kitty at http://kittyskrafty.blogspot.com whose birthday was last week. I used green cardstock from The Papermill Shop as my base and yet another Penny Black image from Diane (Pink Sunflower), which I watercoloured with my marvy markers. I added stickles to the flower and used my stampendous sentiment stamp. The small piece of dp was also sent to me by a fellow blogger (sorry but I can't remember who - if it was you please let me know so that I can add you onto this post). The flowers and brad are from my stash. Thanks for looking.
