Krafty Chicks challenge #736 - Stamps

Good morning lovely friends.  I hope you're all doing ok and having a great week so far.  It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and we are back to Week 1 which means Leanne is our hostess, and our theme as always is 'Stamps'.  We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I decided to make a masculine card for a change this week.  My son is always looking for cards for his friends and is usually moaning that they are not manly enough so at least I've got one in my stash for now lol!  It was almost a SIP card (stamps, ink, paper) but then decided to emboss the background at the last moment.  I hope you like it.

Here is my card:

A closer look at the stamping:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I saw a really cool sketch that was the starting point for my card and I used some really old clear stamps that I re-discovered when looking for something else.  I cut a small panel of white card 2 1/4"x 4 3/8" and using the different sized stars randomly stamped them in each corner.  My colour palette was inspired by a lot of the autumn challenges around at the moment.  I stamped a happy birthday in black ink in the centre.  I matted the panel onto a dark grey card using double sided tape.  For the background panel I cut a white panel 3 3/4" x 5" and embossed it with a plaid embossing folder and again matted this onto a slightly larger grey panel using double sided tape.  I added the smaller panel onto the embossed panel using foam tape.  This was then added onto my card base with double sided tape.  I wasn't going to add any embellishments but I found these teeny tiny silver stars in my stash so added a few of these amongst the stars.  For the inside I cut a white panel 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and added some star gems in the bottom right corner to match the front and stamped a small sentiment in black ink in the centre.  I again added a dark grey mat with double sided tape.  This was added to the card base with double sided tape.  A really clean and simple card and I think most men prefer their cards this way.

I would like to enter my cards into the following challenges:

AAA Cards challenge - anything CAS goes optional twist autumn (colours)
AAA Colourful challenge - colour board #8
Can You Handle The Pressure challenge - ATG (must use an EF) optional twist use a sentiment
Fab 'n' Funky challenge - add gems or pearls (I added teeny tiny star gems)
Freshly Made Sketches - sketch #656
The Paper Funday challenge - ATG optional twist colours of autumn

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'Stamps' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky.  Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - Leanne, Diane and Lori.

Thank you so much for stopping by; I appreciate your lovely comments.

OCC challenge

I made this card for my niece's 15th birthday and I used a sketch for the OCC challenge this week. I stamped the stamping bella image and coloured her with my pro-markers. All the cs and dp is from a cardpack by DCWV. The ribbon and flowers are from my stash. The sentiments were done on the pc and the adhesive stones are by papermania. The rockstar sentiment is a stamp by verve visual. Thanks for looking.

Lots of love, Denise x

A trio of flowers

Here is another card I made for a friend at work. I stamped the verve visual flower and stem three times using my marvy markers. I used dp by 3 bugs in a rug and plain cs from the papermill shop. The sentiment was done on my pc and the adhesive stones are papermania. A very simple card but it looks quite effective IRL. Thanks for looking.

Breast cancer card

Sue at Slumber Cards is running her blog candy called "Think Pink" to coincide with Pink October for breast cancer. The criteria is that you have to make a pink card. I used an image sent to me by Tracy and coloured her with my pro-markers. The dp is a freebie from a craft magazine and the pink cs is from the papermill shop. The ribbon is from my stash and the adhesive gems are papermania. The sentiment is called precious friend and although it doesn't have a makers name it is copyright Kolette Hall. The swirly stars are a stamp by verve visual. Thanks for looking.

Gina's birthday

I made a card for Gina's birthday and now that she has put photo's on her blog I am safe to show it here. For the card I used an image kindly sent to me by Diane and coloured it with my pro-markers (I also highlighted a few areas with a white gel pen). The plain cs is from the papermill shop and the dotty dp is a free download (but I can't remember from where). The flowers are from my stash, the ribbon is Anita's and the adhesive stones are papermania. The sentiment is by stampendous. The top pic also shows the matching image folder and notebook that I made. On the image folder I used my cropadile to make the hole for my ribbon to tie (and also one of the fancy eyelets that came in the starter pack). Both sentiments on the folder and notebook are by verve visual. Thanks for looking.

Baby Girl Card

I made this to give to a colleague at work as she has just had her second baby girl. I stamped the Hero arts super cute image and coloured it in with my pro-markers. I used dp from the nana's nursery stack by DCWV and plain bazzill bling cs. I stamped the sentiment by verve visual and punched it out with my marvy oval punch. The bows were bought from create and craft many moons ago and the adhesive stones are by papermania. Apologies for the "lopsided" photo, I was rushing before work and took a very quick photo. Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday Shelley

It is Shelley's birthday tomorrow so I made her a card and matching image folder. As she lives in France it obviously took a while for them to get to her, but I know she has now received them so I can safely post them on my blog. The first picture shows the card and image folder together. I made them matching 'cos I think they look cute when they look the same. I used two gorgeous images sent to me by Michelle that I coloured with my pro-markers. I thought the little girl looked a little parisienne with her beret. The fab dp is by 3 bugs in a rug and the plain cs is bazzill. The adhesive dots are from a kit by QVC. The happy birthday sentiment is by stamping bella and the sentiment on the wallet is by verve visual. The ribbon is from my stash.

The second photo shows the card and also the wallet open with the images inside. I sent Shelley all Christmas images, as I thought they would come in handy. I sent her some spiral whisper images, elzybells and penny black images.

I also sent her some flowers, gems, ribbon and an ink pad (which I didn't photograph) and she's over the moon with her surprise parcel. So Shelley have a fantastic birthday and I can't wait to see what you make with your goodies. Thanks for looking.

Yet another large card!

I made this card for another lady at work, who again wanted a large A4 sized card. I always try to make them a little different but it can be difficult finding things that fill the space appropriately. I remembered that I had these extra large Heidi Swapp flowers and thought they would be ideal. I used gorgeous doodlebug dp and bazzill bling cs which I punched with my fiskars threading water punch. I coloured the dp with my pro-markers to add a slight hint of colour to match my flower. I also added adhesive stones by papermania to the dp for added bling. I stamped the butterfly by verve visual on plain cs from the papermill shop and also punched out circles from the same cs for the centres of my smaller flowers. I used my pc for the main sentiment and glitter alphabet stickers by making memories for the name (they are so gorgeous IRL). Hope you like. Thanks for looking.

Baby girl card

This will be my last card for a week or so, hope you like! I made a baby girl card using an image sent to me by Diane (again) and coloured it with my pro-markers. I used dp from the nanna's nursery stack by DCWV. The sentiment is a stamp by PSX and I punched flowers out of the dp and added papermania adhesive stones for extra bling. The welcome baby sentiment is by verve visual. The ribbon was from ribbon mad. Thanks for looking. I hope you won't forget about me and will come next week to see what's new!!

A cute boy card

This card was originally going to be my card for the OCC challenge but then I realised we weren't allowed any dp (grrrr!). Never mind it turned out quite cute so will come in handy I'm sure. I used a gorgeous image again sent to me by Diane which I coloured with my pro-markers. The small sentiment on the image is by verve visual. The plain cs is from the papermill shop and the dp is from a paper pack I got from QVC. I used a snag 'em clear stamp by imaginisce to stamp the other half of the card. Hope you like. Thanks for looking.

My homage to Mish Mash!

I don't know if you've visited Michelle's blog (http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/) but you really should. Her work is exceptional and I had a go at trying my hand at her notelets. I don't think they're a patch on the original but I was quite happy with the way they turned out. I used a plain piece of white cs matted onto pink cs as my base. I stamped the butterfly from verve visual 'petals & stems' set and watercoloured with my marvy markers. I cut them out with my circle punch and stuck them to a scallop of plain green cs. I used me and my big ideas dp and sentiment by stampendous. I also stamped the envelopes with the butterfly and sentiment stamps. Thanks for looking.

By the skin of my teeth!

I wasn't going to attempt the Papertake Challenge this week as I was too busy but at the last minute decided to have a go. I punched out 12 scallop squares from dp (me and my big ideas) and laid them onto bazzill bling cardstock. I then stamped 2 butterflies (verve visual) onto pink cardstock and stuck each of them onto another scallop square and raised them up with foam squares. I haven't added a sentiment as I think this card could be useful for lots of occasions. It's quite a simple card but I think it turned out ok. Thanks for looking.

Butterfly card

I was asked to make a card for a 9 year old girl and the theme was butterflies. I had just received my stamps from Verve Visual called Fluttering By, so this was the ideal stamp set to use. I stamped the polka dot butterflies onto pink dp and then cut them out. I then stamped the plain butterflies onto white card and added the polka dot butterflies over the top, leaving the wings 3D (as you can hopefully see in the second pic). The two smaller butterflies are also from Verve Visual from a set called Petals & Stems. These sets are clear and a dream to use. The dp is by Rob & Bob and I used my pc to create the sentiment. The black card is bazzill bling which has a lovely sheen to it. A final touch was the Papermania adhesive stones on the butterflies bodies. I don't usually gush about my cards but I was really pleased with how this card turned out and may have to make a few more of them. If you've stayed with me throughout this very long post - congratulations ;) Thanks for looking.
