Passion for Promarkers #135–DT card

Well, long time no see lol!  I’m sorry that I haven’t blogged for so long (again) but it’s been really hectic and I’ve seem to be chasing my tail and playing catch up for the last few weeks.  Hopefully once I’ve blogged this week’s DT cards I can get back to normal, well that’s the plan anyway.

I would normally blog my cards in order of the challenges but I’m going to share my DT card for this week’s passion for promarkers challenge first as I want to enter it into the sugar bowl challenge before it ends haha!

This week’s challenge has been set by Maya and she has chosen “grey & purple”.  These have to be your dominant colours (but hair, skin and fur are allowed).  Here is my card:

PFP challenge 135 - grey & purple

PFP challenge 135 - grey & purple

I’ve used an image from Sugar Nellie stamps called ‘domestic goddess’ and coloured it with promarkers and flex markers.  The embossed cardstock is actually a light grey but some reason it looks beige in the picks – my usual photography skills at work lol!  The doily started life as a large square but I cut it down on the side and stuck it back together to make a frame for the image – I think it looks quite pretty.

Our sponsor this week is Whiff of Joy stamps and one lucky winner will receive a stamp of their choice.

Whiff of Joy

The rest of the design team have created amazing samples so please pop over and check them out.   We really appreciate all the lovely comments you leave for us.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

The sugar bowl challenge – sketch

Papertake challenge – anything goes

Crafts and me challenge – use a new image

Frosted designs challenge – ribbon and/or twine

Fussy ‘n’ fancy challenge – polka dots (ribbon)

Stamping for the weekend challenge – embossing

Allsorts challenge – free and easy

Drunken stampers challenge – something new (stamp)

Crafter’s companion challenge – anything goes

Paper pretties challenge – add texture (embossing)

I hope you can join in with our challenge this week and I look forward to seeing what you create.  I would like to welcome my newest followers - Sarah Davey and Donna Angliss *waves hello"* – I hope you enjoy your visits to my little part of blogland.

I’ll be back later with another catch up post but until then thanks so much for stopping by.

My son’s birthday card!

I know it’s been a week since my son’s 16th birthday but I wanted to share his card with you.  I also wanted to say a big thank you once again for all your suggestions and help with the drummer image.  He loved his card by the way so I was super pleased about that.  Here is what I made for him:

b'day card (56)

b'day card (56) close up

I decided to go with The Greeting Farm image as it was so funky!  The card is A5 in size.

A spoonfull of sugar challenge – 3 designer papers and 3 buttons

Papertake challenge – shiny/sparkly and special (my card is obviously special and metal charm)

Fab ‘n’ funky challenge – metal mania (haven’t got much but used a star charm)

Cute card Thursday challenge – someone special

Digi doodle challenge – use ribbon

Secret crafter Saturday challenge – metal (again used a charm)

Sketch Saturday #61

b'day card (26)

b'day card (26) close up

This is my card for this week’s sketch saturday challenge, better late than never!  I used a download from Lily Boo’s Boutique from a set called ‘boys and their toys’ and coloured it with my promarkers.  The papers are by DCWV from ‘the stack’ (yes again lol!) and the plain cs is from the papermill shop.  The ribbon is Anita’s and the buttons are from my stash.  The stamped sentiment is by elusive images and the brother gel sticker is from a pack by creative imaginations (my printer was out of ink at the time so couldn’t print out a sentiment grr….)  I really enjoyed using the sketch this week and will be using it again I’m sure.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Papertake challenge/Mojo sketch challenge #74/Cupcake Challenge #27

The papertake challenge this week was 'a perfect match' so I made a card and altered a photoframe in matching colours - that brings me onto the cupcake challenge, which was to alter something. The sketch that I used for the card was the mojo sketch for this week. Well I say this week but I'm chasing my tail as usual and the challenges all change again tomorrow LOL! Anywhoo onto the deets of the card. I stamped my new (and gorgeous) angel anya by the greeting farm and coloured her with my pro-markers. I added highlights to her wings with a sakura stardust pen and stickles to her halo. The yummy dp is BG and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment was done on my pc. The "21" was done with stickers by creative imaginations and the pearls I only bought last week but I threw away the packet and can't remember who they are by. For the frame, sorry I forgot to take a before photo but it was plain wood colour. I sanded the frame and then coloured it with my trusty pro-markers. I punched various flowers and stuck them together using the same materials as for the card. The sentiment stamp I used is by studio g. I also added a faux stitched edge with a fine line marker pen. To be honest I'm not that happy with how the frame turned out (actually I think it's rubbish) but I wasn't going to enter the challenge and then changed my mind last minute but hey at least I had a go. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for looking.

Image folder

Here is an image folder I sent to a fellow crafter a little while ago, but only now I'm getting around to adding on here. I stamped the PB image and coloured it with my pro-markers. The dp is by creative imaginations and the sentiment is by personal impressions. Brown cs is bazzill bling and the buttons are from my stash. To close the folder I added some hook and loop fasteners that I bought from ebay. Thanks for looking.

PB challenge #31/SCSC #14/Mojo Monday #69

I don't make ATC's very often but I am trying to do them more as they are so quick to make and look great as a topper if you've not got anyone to swap with. I made this ATC for the penny black challenge which this week is 'pink and brown', the secret crafter saturday challenge is 'anything but a card' and the mojo monday challenge is a sketch as usual. I used a penny black stickeroo which is super cute and great for a baby card. The dp is by creative imaginations, the brown cs is bazzill bling and the pink cs is from the papermill shop. The flower brads are from my stash (to be honest as soon as I get my brads, buttons, ribbons etc I open the packets and put them away in organisers so I can rarely remember where I got them from). The scallop circle was punched out with my marvy paper punch. All the edges were inked with a cat's eye chalk ink pad. Sorry for the poor pic but due to the reflection from the stickeroo it was really hard to photograph. Thanks for looking.

Dutch Dare Challenge #28

The dutch dare challenge this week was to follow a sketch. I had to make a card for a friend's birthday so combined the two. I stamped the Anita's image and coloured it with my pro-markers. The dp is by creative imaginations, brown cs is bazzill bling and pink cs is from the papermill shop. The sentiment is hero arts and the pearls are by craftybitz. Thanks for looking.

Joe Cool!

I made this card for my mother to give to my cousin for his 50th birthday. I stamped the stampabilities joe cool snoopy image and coloured him with my pro-markers. The red cs is from the papermill shop and the grey and patterned dp is by DCWV. I used my pc for the sentiment and the adhesive stones are PM. I punched the circles with my marvy punches and the '50' was done with stickers by creative imaginations. I used a sketch for this card for last week's A Time To Craft challenge but as usual I was too late to enter it. It's so hectic anyone would think it's christmas or something haha!! Thanks for looking.

Birthday girl

I was asked to make a birthday card for a little girl who is 2. I stamped the super cute high hopes image and coloured her with my pro-markers. I used dp by s.e.i. and the flower is from my stash. I used alphabet stickers for the name and the '2' by creative imaginations and I stamped the sentiment by elusive images. My printer has run out of ink and I'm waiting for my order to arrive. I make so many cards for orders that ask for personalisation that I rely on my printer for all my sentiments. Hurry up ink!! Thanks for looking.

Another man's card

I was asked to make this card by my auntie for her friend. I used the same funstamps teddy image and coloured him with my pro-markers (I did this one before the card for my grandfather and the colours I used on the ted aren't so good - he's a little pale and uninteresting). I used dp by DCWV from the glitter stack and the plain paper is from a pack I bought from QVC a long time ago. The sentiment was done on my pc and the number stickers are by creative imaginations. The ribbon is by american crafts and again I got it in a kit from QVC ages ago. Thanks for looking.
