Stamps & Smiles sketch #10/Colour Create #11

This was another card ordered by a friend at work. I decided to use the lovely sketch over at SAS this week and the colour combo on colour create challenge which was 'coffee, chocolate and cream'. I stamped the greeting farm 'miss anya' image and coloured her with pro-markers. The gorgeous dp is all SU (not sure of the names as I got it from Jules as part of a paper share). The sentiment was created on the pc and the flowers and brad are from my stash. Now I'm not at all big-headed (cos I always think everyone else's cards are better than mine lol) but I love this card, I think it's the colour combo, definitely one I will try again. Thanks for stopping by.

A late Easter card

I made this card to give to my sister and her family for Easter. I stamped the gorgeous sugar nellie image 'peek a bunny' and coloured it with my pro-markers. The pretty dp is all SU. I used my x-cut punches to punch out the flowers and I added a kanban adhesive pearl to the centres. The sentiment is PB. A simple card but super cute never-the-less! Thanks for stopping by.

Surfer dude birthday

Morning all. I've got an extra day off from work today woohoo but the weather isn't so nice here so I think it's a trip to the cinema for us later, although judging by what my hubby & boys want to see I think I'll be be looking around the shops while they watch their movie lol! Anyway onto my card. I made this for an order and stamped the stamping bella 'surfafella' image and coloured him with pro-markers. The dp is all BG from the archaic paper pad (which is so fab for men's cards) and I punched out two circles with my SU punch and tried to make them look like buttons for fun home-made embellishments. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment is from craftwork cards. Thanks for stopping by.

An award!

The lovely Clare at Taffy Craftys Creations has given me this amazing award, thank you so much Clare. I am really touched when fellow crafters think of me and it really brightens my day. Now I have to think of 5 crafters to pass this award on to, not an easy task, as I love so many of your blogs...... Well after much deliberation I have decided to pass it on to -

Gina - because she always leaves me such warm and generous comments
Tracy - because she is so sweet and takes the time to visit me regularly
Diane - because when I first started my blog she was so kind to me and helped me find my feet (so to speak)
Michelle - because even though she is uber-talented she still takes the time to visit my little blog
Shelly - because she always brightens my day with her comments

I would of course love to give this award back to Clare as she is such a kind and thoughtful friend and a nicer person you couldn't wish to "meet". She always leaves me such encouraging and thoughtful comments and of course she's welsh too haha! I would love to be able to give this award to all my followers and regular visitors but alas only 5 allowed but if you would like to take it for your blog, feel free. Thanks for stopping by.

Stamp with us #2

I'm a little behind the times as I've just discovered the Sunday challenge blog called Stamp With Us which is in it's second week. The one criteria to fill is that you have to use at least one SU product on your card. The theme this week is 'birthday' and I just happened to make this card for a lady at work using images from the SU set called pocket silhouettes. I used SU stampin' spots in pink passion and pixie pink (from the bold brights) to ink up the images. The dp is PM that I've had in my stash for a very long time. The flowers were actually white but I coloured them with my pro-marker (meadow green) to tie in with my colour scheme. The plain cs is from the papermill shop and the gingham cs is from my stash. The sentiments were created on the pc. The adhesive stones are PM and the cotton thread was from woolworths (sob sob). Thanks for stopping by.

Cupcake craft challenge - one layer!

Well here we are, week two as a designer for the cupcake craft challenge. This week we were challenged to create a card with only one layer! Now as you know I love my dp and cs so this was really hard for me (in fact I left it until the very last day to make lol)!! Now we were allowed to use one piece of dp as well as the card base but I decided to simply use the card base as my one layer. I stamped my new (well new to me) gorjuss girl image by sugar nellie and coloured her with my pro-markers. I then framed my image by stamping the floral swirl image by inkadinkadoo all around the edge of the card. I coloured the flower heads and leaves with pro-markers and inked the edge of the card with a light brown cat's eye chalk ink pad. I also smudged some of the same ink over the frame for an aged look. Finally I added stickles to the flowers, leaves and the heart in the girl's hair. I did umm and ahh about adding embellishments but I liked the simplistic look of the card so left it as it was. I am really happy with how this card turned out and think maybe I should make more in the same style, what do you think? I would love to see your one-layer creations so if you have time why not join in with the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.
