Krafty Chicks challenge #834 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far and you've managed to fit in some crafting. I'm sharing my card for the new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'Masculine' and Lori is our hostess. We know it's not everyone's favourite challenge, but we do have to make some masculine cards sometime and this challenge will hopefully help you get them done. We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I recently bought a few things from a friend's crafty de-stash and she sent me some lovely Hunkydory pre-printed images as a thank you.  I thought they would be perfect for a quick and easy masculine birthday card.  The images are so super cute and perfect for males of all ages.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the cute pre-printed image:
plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting the pre-printed image panel down using a stitched rectangle die and I also used the same die to cut a panel from lime green gingham paper.  I adhered the image onto the paper, using liquid glue, leaving an equal border at the top and bottom.  I also cut a mat black layer and adhered them together with liquid glue.  I used two pre-printed sentiments and die cut them out using a sentiment strips die.  I adhered the sentiments to the top right and bottom left along the border between the image and the paper using liquid glue.  I finished off with some stars die cut from gold mirror card.  I adhered the panel to my card base using double sided tape.  For the inside I cut a white panel with the stitched rectangle die and also a small piece from the lime gingham paper and adhered them together with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre using black ink and finished off with some gold stars.  The panel was adhered to a black mat layer and then added to my card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Animals challenge - ATG must include an animal
Little Red Wagon challenge - anything times three (3 cute animals, 3 balloons, 3 stars)
Love Those Pretty Papers challenge - use designer/patterned paper optional theme look to the skies

Tic Tac Toe challenge - #tttc300 - die cut/punch, patterned paper, bright colours

Krafty Chicks challenge #830 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far and you're surviving the heatwave; although thankfully it's a little cooler here now.
As usual I was pushed for time so kept my card fairly clean and simple, but as I've said before I think most men prefer their cards that way anyway.  My card is almost a SIP card this week (stamps, ink and paper) but I did use a banner die to cut out the birthday greeting.  I think it turned out great and I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4".  I stamped the background stamp using two different shades of grey ink; I put the darker shade in the centre and the lighter on the edges and used a blending brush to soften the line between them and I liked that it ended up looking quite distressed.  I stamped three stars in red, blue and the lighter grey and fussy cut them out.  I adhered them over the background using foam squares.  I stamped the sentiment in the darker grey and used a banner die to cut it out and adhered it over the centre star using a combination of foam squares and liquid glue.  For a finishing touch I stamped some smaller, solid stars around the panel and added some black spatter.  I adhered the panel onto my card base with double sided tape.  For the inside I cut a panel 3 3/4" x 5" and stamped the background and 2 stars directly at the bottom of the panel; I also added some smaller stars and spatter.  The sentiment was stamped in the centre using the darker grey ink and the panel was adhered to the card base using double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Colorful Options challenge - red, white & blue (option 1 and 4)
Crafty Calendar challenge - happy birthday (entry 3 of 3)
If You Give A Crafter A Cookie challenge - red, white & blue (inspired by colours, stars & stripes)
PINspirational challenge - red, white & blue (inspired by the colours)
The Neglected Stuff challenge - background stamp is 2 years old and only now using it
Tic Tac Toe challenge - middle line - any colour, free, sentiment
Unicorn challenge - no design paper
We Love Stamping challenge - summertime (playing the ATG option this time)

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'Masculine' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky. Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - Leanne, Diane and Lori.

Krafty Chicks challenge #825

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far and you're surviving the heatwave.  I've only left the house once and apart from putting washing on the line I've sat in front of my fan all week lol!
I kept my card fairly simple this week, but I think that is what most males prefer anyway.  I found the headphones already die cut and assembled so just created a fun background and voila my card was done.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and using a fun stencil created my background.  I used three different shades of blue ink and created an ombre blend, staring darkest at the bottom.  I added a black mat layer with double sided tape and added the headphones with foam squares.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink and added the panel to my card base with double sided tape. For the inside I cut another white panel and used the stencil to create a border at the bottom.  I again added a black mat layer and stamped the sentiment in black ink.  I added another die cut headphones around the sentiment using liquid glue.  The panel was then adhered to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create challenge - ATG optional twist craft or hobby (listening to music)
Addicted to Stamps & More challenge - die cuts and/or stencils (I used both)
Crafty Calendar challenge - all about the men/boys

Inkspirational challenge - leftovers (my headphones were left over from a previous project)

Krafty Chicks challenge #822 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far.
It was my eldest son's birthday at the beginning of May and I'm sharing the card I made him today.  I usually make him a card that is drum related as he is an avid drummer but it's hard trying to find a new image/die every year, especially as he is now 32!  He also loves Lego so I decided to go down that route this year.  It looks fairly simple but die cutting all those tiny circles took FOREVER, but he's worth it!  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the 'lego':
Plus I decorated the inside:
I know you can get Lego in lots of different colours these days but decided to stick with the original colours of red, blue, yellow and green.  I used my paper trimmer to cut the rectangles 2" x 1".  I hoped that I had a punch in the correct size to cut the circles but unfortunately I did not so I had to use a die (it was a hole reinforcer die from a tag set) to cut the circles, which as I say took absolutely ages.  I did literally question whether I could actually finish the card as I lost the will to live at one point lol!  Once everything was cut out I added teeny tiny foam squares behind each circle and adhered them to the rectangles.  I made my card base 7" x 7" from white card (I cut one panel 7" square and a second panel 8" x 7" and scored at the 1" line.  I then used this 1" strip as a tab to adhere the panels together).  I fussed about for a while trying to decide on a layout where none of the colours were next to each other and eventually did it.  I cut a white panel 6 1/2" square and adhered the 'lego' with foam squares; some are a little wonky but it's better than horrible!  I created the sentiment on my pc, printed it out and used a decorative edge die to cut it out.  I added this to the centre of the 'lego' panel with foam squares.  I added some scrap white card behind the panel and adhered it to the card base with double sided tape. I finished off by adding some highlights to the 'lego' with a white gelly roll pen.  For the inside I cut another white panel 6 1/2" square and added some left over 'lego' to the bottom with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink and adhered the panel to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Classic Design challenge - ATG optional twist anniversary/birthday
Creative Moments challenge - make it masculine
Try It On Tuesday challenge - going around in circles (lots of circles on my lego)

Krafty Chicks challenge #813 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far.
I recently got this fun stamp from Uniko and thought I would show it some love before putting it away. It's a great stamp and so versatile for any age/gender although it's perfect for masculine cards as I always think they prefer cards that are fairly clean and simple (well my husband does anyway).  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the image:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stamping the image onto alcohol marker friendly card using memento black ink and coloured it in various shades of blue Promarkers trying to create an ombre look from left to right (it's not perfect but it looks quite cool I think).  I decided to re-stamp the image using versafine clair black ink to make the lines more bold and crisp.  I also added some white gelly roll pen highlights.  I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the panel and also used the largest stitched rectangle from the same set to cut out the navy card panel.  I wanted to pull in more of the lighter blue/teal so used a stitched rectangle from another set to cut a panel from the blue/teal card to fit between the other two.  I adhered all the panels together and added it to the card base with double sided tape.  I didn't add anything else as I like the CAS look of the stamp as it was.  For the inside I cut a white and navy panel using the stitched rectangles and stamped a sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I took a strip of white card and using my Promarkers created an ombre blend to match the front of the card.  I used the stitched rectangle to cut out the strip so that it would match the white panel and adhered it with liquid glue.  I adhered the panels together and added it to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

AAA Cards challenge - anything CAS goes optional zoo or animals
Seize The Birthday challenge - add a tag or ATG (no topping for me this time)

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'Masculine' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky. Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - Leanne, Diane and Lori.
