Krafty Chicks challenge #813 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far. I'm sharing my card for the new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'Masculine' and Lori is our hostess. We know it's not everyone's favourite challenge, but we do have to make some masculine cards sometime and this challenge will hopefully help you get them done. We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I recently got this fun stamp from Uniko and thought I would show it some love before putting it away. It's a great stamp and so versatile for any age/gender although it's perfect for masculine cards as I always think they prefer cards that are fairly clean and simple (well my husband does anyway).  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the image:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stamping the image onto alcohol marker friendly card using memento black ink and coloured it in various shades of blue Promarkers trying to create an ombre look from left to right (it's not perfect but it looks quite cool I think).  I decided to re-stamp the image using versafine clair black ink to make the lines more bold and crisp.  I also added some white gelly roll pen highlights.  I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the panel and also used the largest stitched rectangle from the same set to cut out the navy card panel.  I wanted to pull in more of the lighter blue/teal so used a stitched rectangle from another set to cut a panel from the blue/teal card to fit between the other two.  I adhered all the panels together and added it to the card base with double sided tape.  I didn't add anything else as I like the CAS look of the stamp as it was.  For the inside I cut a white and navy panel using the stitched rectangles and stamped a sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I took a strip of white card and using my Promarkers created an ombre blend to match the front of the card.  I used the stitched rectangle to cut out the strip so that it would match the white panel and adhered it with liquid glue.  I adhered the panels together and added it to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

AAA Cards challenge - anything CAS goes optional zoo or animals
Seize The Birthday challenge - add a tag or ATG (no topping for me this time)

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'Masculine' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky. Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - Leanne, Diane and Lori.

Krafty Chicks challenge #809 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far. I'm sharing my card for the new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'Masculine' and Lori is our hostess. We know it's not everyone's favourite challenge, but we do have to make some masculine cards sometime and this challenge will hopefully help you get them done. We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I didn't make this card for anyone in particular, I just grabbed some supplies on my desk and had a play.  I had just received this fun die set from Spellbinders recent sale and thought it would be perfect for males of all ages.  I think it turned out super cute and I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
a closer look at the details:
plus I decorated the inside:
as I added some shimmer pen to the word I took a side view photo to try and capture the glitter:
I began by die cutting the fun monster from green, black, white and red card, all from my scraps bin and added some white gelly roll pen details.  I used a large smile word die cut and cut it out from the same two shades of green card, adhering the layers together with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in green ink and used a sentiments strip die to cut it out.  I thought an embossed background would be fun and I liked this large dots folder but it was only slimline but it still worked as I cut the panel to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" and it looks great with the large border on my card. I added some scrap white card behind the embossed panel and adhered it to the card base with double sided tape.  I added all the elements with foam squares and finished off with some dark green pearls.  I also decided at the last minute to add some shimmer pen over the smile word for a little extra fun.  For the inside I cut a white panel 3 3/4" x 5" and added another piece of white card cut to 3 3/4" x 1", which I embossed with large dots folder, to the bottom with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in green ink in the centre and adhered the panel to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Allsorts challenge - embossing
Alphabet challenge - v is for volume (everything is popped up with foam squares)
Creative Knockouts challenge - finish the inside
Daisy Chain challenge - something new (the die is new to me)
Fab 'n' Funky challenge - dies or punches
Make My Monday challenge - card for a male
Spellbinders challenge - pop of colour

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'Masculine' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky. Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - Leanne, Diane and Lori.

Krafty Chicks challenge #804 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends; I hope your week is going well so far. I'm sharing my card for the new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'Masculine' and Lori is our hostess. We know it's not everyone's favourite challenge, but we do have to make some masculine cards sometime and this challenge will hopefully help you get them done. We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I didn't make this card for anyone in particular, I just grabbed some supplies on my desk and had a play.  Thinking now though it is my brother-in-law's birthday at the end of the month so maybe he will be the lucky recipient lol!  I decided to make a 5" x 7" card for a change and although it ended up being fairly clean and simple I think it's super cute.  I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 5" x 7" and using a new to me stencil created the 'wave' design using 5 different shades of blue inks.  I used Master Layouts 8 to cut the stitched rectangle and also used the plain rectangle to cut a blue layer.  I added some white gouache spatter for some extra interest.  I was going to simply add a sentiment and call it done but nothing looked right (do you have days like that?) so as the background looked like the sea to me I decided to add some super cute fish.  I stamped the fish and two shells onto alcohol marker friendly card, coloured them with Promarkers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I stamped the water bubbles directly onto the background using white pigment ink, although it faded back quite a bit on the dark ink, and added the fish with foam squares.  I found a long, bold sentiment which I think suits masculine cards and manipulated it slightly so that it followed the curve of the 'wave' and stamped it onto the panel with black ink.  I adhered the panels together with double sided tape, added some scrap card behind it for some dimension and added to the card base with double sided tape.  I didn't add anything extra as I liked it as it was.  For the inside I cut another white stitched rectangle and blue mat layer using the master layouts dies.  I used the stencil to create some waves at the bottom of the panel and added some white spatter.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink and using liquid glue added the two shells into the bottom right corner.  I adhered the layers together and added the panel to the card blank with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Allsorts challenge - for boys or men
As You Like It challenge - favourite occasion (definitely birthday, 95% of my makes are birthday cards)
Aud Sentiments challenge - ATG + sentiment
Crafter's Cafe challenge - one for the boys

Krafty Chicks challenge #800 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends and a very Merry Christmas to all of you that celebrate. I know it can be a tough time for some and to those I am sending big hugs and love.  If you are lucky enough to be spending it with family or friends I hope you have a wonderful day.

I'm sharing my card for the new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'Masculine' and Lori is our hostess. We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
It was my son's birthday last month and this is the card I made for him.  The colours are not overly masculine but I thought they were fun, bright and happy colours.  He's a proper teapot and drinks copious amounts through the day so this die set was perfect for him.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
As the card was for my son I made the card base 6" x 8" (using a piece of 12" x 12" card and cutting it to 12" x 8" and scoring it at 6" on the longer side).  I cut a white panel 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" and ink smooshed the background using blue, yellow and green ink pads.  Once it was dry I matted it onto a black layer with double sided tape.  I stamped and die cut 3 of the teacups and also die cut 6 more white cups so that I could layer them up.  I ink blended the 3 same colours onto the teacups, blending more heavily around the edges.  I also stamped the dog, coloured him with Promarkers and fussy cut him out.  Finally I stamped and die cut the teabag image and blended it with some light brown ink and used Promarkers to colour the heart.  Now it was time to arrange my pieces.  I stacked the cups in a 'wobbly' arrangement and added them with foam squares.  I popped the dog at the top, so that he looked like he was sitting in the teacup.  I stamped the tea-riffic sentiment in black ink onto white card and use a sentiment strips die to cut it out.  I stamped the second sentiment directly onto the bottom teacup with black ink.  I finished off with some gold pearls.  I added some scrap white card behind my panel and added it to the card base with double sided tape.  For the inside I cut the same white and black panels and did some ink smooshing at the bottom of the white panel.  Once it was dry I stamped the outline of the dog over the smooshing with black ink and added a sentiment in the centre.  I adhered the layers together and added them to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Color Dare challenge - #683 bold & bright colours
Crafter's Cafe challenge - ATG optional use the colour yellow
First Cup challenges - ATG must include a drink on your project
I Love Promarkers challenge - ATG or use purple & yellow

Krafty Chicks challenge #796 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends, I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you're all doing ok. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'Masculine' and Lori is our hostess. Now I know that masculine makes are not our favourite but we do need them from time to time so get ahead of the game and be prepared.  We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
So still suffering with my cold I ended up making another clean and simple card, although I think men prefer that anyway so a win-win for me!  I have seen lots of paper strip cards on Instagram recently so I thought I would have a go at recreating the layout using stamps instead of patterned paper.  I think it turned out great but you should have seen my hands at the end, they were so inky!  I went with a blue, grey and black colour combo as it's one of my go-to's for mens cards.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the pattern:
Plus I decorated the inside:
So I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and grabbed some stamp sets from Uniko to create my background.  I used a block and the pad from my Misti so that I would get as good an impression as possible.  I stamped with the lined blue strip first and then worked up from there.  I used 3 blues, 3 greys and 1 black ink pad to create my pattern.  Finally I stamped the happy birthday greeting, lining it up with the angle of the stamping.  I cut a black mat layer and adhered them together with double sided tape.  As always I added some scrap white card behind my panel for stability and a little bit of dimension before adhering it to my card base with double sided tape.  For the inside I cut another white panel and created a 'mini' pattern in the bottom right corner and stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I adhered the panel onto a black mat layer and then added it to the card base with double sided tape.  I really like how this card turned out and it was a purely SIP card (stamps, inks, paper) which I haven't done for a while.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps & More challenge - make your mark (ink pads)
Girlz Makes Guyz Cards challenge - birthday card for a man
Girlz Rebel challenge - something beginning with B (blue, birthday)
Mix It Up challenge - ATG optional CAS
Sweet Stampin' challenge - birthdays (happy 16th birthday to you all!)

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'masculine' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky.  Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - LeanneDiane and Lori

Krafty Chicks challenge #787 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends. I hope you're all doing ok and having a great week so far. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'masculine' and Lori is our hostess (although she is currently taking a short break). I know masculine makes can be difficult but we always need them so why not join our challenge and get ahead. We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I started with a totally different vision of what my card was going to be - does this ever happen to you?  I stamped the notepaper background and was looking through my stash for my notebook edge die when I came across these fun stamps from Clearly Besotted and as I don't think I've ever used them, I changed my original idea and used these instead.  My card is 5" x 7" in size.  I love how it turned out and I hope you do too!
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stamping the note paper background onto white card using a light blue ink pad.  I cut it out using a stitched rectangle.  I stamped the images onto white card; the phone was originally grey but I thought I looked a little drab so stamped over it with the same light blue ink that I used for the background which gave it more a teal colour.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I also stamped the emojis but there wasn't a die for those (luckily I found a die from Spellbinders that cut the exact circle that I needed even though it was supposed to cut some dancing legs lol!).  I cut a stitched blue panel and black mat panel from a slightly larger die set and adhered them together with liquid glue.  The note paper background was adhered with double sided tape at a wonky angle for a bit of interest.  I added the images with foam squares.  I added some scrap white card behind the panel and then adhered it to the card base with double sided tape.  At the last moment I decided to stamp the two extra sentiments with black ink, which was a little scary but thankfully it turned out ok. For the inside I cut a white stitched panel and black mat layer and adhered them together with double sided tape.  I had a small piece of the background left so I adhered that to the bottom of the white panel with liquid glue, adding a small strip of the blue card above it.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink and finished with another two emojis.  A fun card that I think any male would appreciate.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Color Dare challenge - #670 use at least 3 colours (I used 2 different blues and yellow)
Craft Rocket challenge - dots and/or stripes
Double D challenge - make your own background (I used a stamp to make my note paper BG)
The Neglected Stuff challenge - must use at least one old neglected product (my stamp set has never been used and is at least 10 years old!)
The Male Room challenge - create your own background (I used a stamp to make my note paper BG)

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'masculine' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky. Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - Leanne, Diane and Lori.

Thank you so much for stopping by; I appreciate your lovely comments.
