Krafty Chicks challenge #784 - Birthday

Good morning lovely friends. I hope you're all doing ok and having a great week so far. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 1; as always the theme is 'birthday' and Leanne is our hostess. It can't get any easier than this week's challenge so we hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
It was my sister's birthday last week and today I'm sharing the card I made for my boys to give to their auntie.  I don't seem to use purple very often and I'm not sure why because I love it.  I used a fairly simple layout and the card size is 5" x 7".  I'm happy with this card and I think it turned out really pretty.  I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the image:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stamping the image onto alcohol marker friendly card, coloured it with Promarkers and cut it into a rectangle.  I matted it onto a gold layer with double sided tape; I also added some scrap white card behind this layer for some dimension without using foam tape.  I cut a piece of gorgeous patterned paper 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" and again matted it onto a gold layer with double sided tape.  I stamped the sentiment using black ink and used a sentiment strip die to cut it out; I again added a gold mat layer. I die cut some leafy branches from the gold card and adhered them to the top left and bottom right corners of the purple panel.  I then placed the image panel over top with double sided tape.  The sentiment was placed across the lower part of the image panel with foam squares.  The panel was then added to the card base with double sided tape.  I didn't add any extra embellishments as I loved it as it was.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" and added a gold mat layer with double sided tape.  I adhered a strip of the patterned paper to the top and bottom of the panel with liquid glue and also added two more of the leafy branches in the left lower corner.  Finally I stamped a sentiment in the centre with black ink.  The panel was added to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

A Cut Above challenge - ATG with a die cut
Addicted to Stamps & More challenge - die cuts and/or stencils

Krafty Chicks challenge #783 - Masculine

Good morning lovely friends. I hope you're all doing ok and having a great week so far. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 4; as always the theme is 'masculine' and Lori is our hostess (although she is currently taking a short break). I know masculine makes can be difficult but we always need them so take the challenge and get ahead. We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I recently purchased some new stamps from Uniko Stamps and they are perfect for clean and simple masculine makes.  I had fun creating my random pattern and although I'm not that good at random I think it turned out great.  I really enjoyed just using inks, stamps and paper for this card and the finished size is 5" x 7".  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at my stamping:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by creating my card base using white card cut to 10" x 7" and scoring on the long side at 5".  I cut a panel 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" from the same white card and using 4 different blue ink pads stamped my random pattern across the top half of the panel.  I also used a line stamp from the set and stamped that with black ink which I think is really fun.  I stamped the sentiment below using black ink and simply mounted the panel onto some blue card with double sided tape.  I added some scraps of the blue card behind my panel for dimension and stability and then this was adhered to the card base with double sided tape.  No embellishments this time as I don't think men really like them that much.  For the inside I cut another white panel and blue mat panel the same as the front.  I stamped a smaller version of the pattern at the bottom of the panel and a sentiment in the centre with black ink.  The panels were adhered together with double sided tape and then also added to the card base with double sided tape.  I really like how this card turned out; the stamp set is so much fun and there are unlimited ways to create fun patterns with it.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

AAA Cards challenge - anything CAS goes optional twist 'all the greens'
Allsorts challenge - I spy with something beginning with B - blue, birthday

Krafty Chicks challenge #779 - ATG

Good morning lovely friends; it's Thursday so that means it's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge.  We have a 5 week month so that means we have an extra 'Anything Goes' challenge this week and Diane is our hostess.  It can't get any easier than ATG so come and join in the fun with us.
The world's your oyster this week, you can make anything you like.  I wanted to share the anniversary card I made for my hubby (which was a few weeks ago).  I love the fun image and sentiment and went for a bright and cheery colour combo.  The card is 7" x 7" in size.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the image:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stamping the image onto alcohol marker friendly card, coloured it with Promarkers and added some white gelly roll pen highlights.  I used the coordinating die to cut it out.  To create my card base I cut one piece of white card 8" x 7" and another piece 7" x 7"; on the larger piece I scored at 1" on the 8" side and used this 'tab' to attach the two panels together using double sided tape.  I cut a white panel 4 3/4" square and using a heart stencil and some light grey ink created a soft background for my images.  I matted this panel onto some gold mirri card with double sided tape.  I cut a piece of yellow patterned paper 5 3/4" square and again matted it onto the gold mirri card with double sided tape.  I then cut another white panel 6 3/4" square and matted it onto the gold mirri card again.  I adhered all the layers together with double sided tape.  I stamped the happy anniversary and husband words onto scrap white card and cut them out with a sentiment strip die.  I adhered the image into the centre of the stencilled panel using foam tape and stamped the 'me love you' sentiment in black ink below.  I added the other sentiments above the image with foam squares.  The whole panel was then adhered to the card base with double sided tape.  For a final finishing touch I die cut 5 hearts from the gold mirri card and added them around the image with liquid glue.  I kept the inside fairly simple this time; I cut I white panel 5 3/4" square and again added a gold mirri card mat.  I added a border of the patterned paper to the top and bottom with double sided tape and stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I added some more gold hearts in the left upper and right bottom corners.  The panel was adhered to the card base with double sided tape.  Quite a few layers and dimension on this card but I knew I wouldn't be posting it so it didn't matter.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Christmas BINGO (or not) challenge - Line G - square card, free, frame
Crafty Gals Corner challenge - our anniversary in July
Cut It Up challenge - monochrome
Little Red Wagon challenge - masculine (anniversary card for hubby)

Dragonfly Dreams challenge - guest designer

Good morning and happy Sunday lovely friends. I hope you are all doing ok and finding lots of time to get crafty.  Well the weather has taken a turn for the worse and we had quite a bit of rain yesterday, although it was still really humid.  Let's hope it's only a blip and the sun will return soon.
I am delighted to be a guest designer over at Dragonfly Dreams challenge this month and they have a fantastic theme of 'use polygons'.  It's such a unique challenge but don't be put off by the name as it's easier than it sounds.  So many shapes are polygons so you won't have to think too hard to take part.

For my card I decided to go with a diamond shape as I wanted to use a Uniko stencil which was a recent purchase.  It is such a clever stencil and the results are gorgeous.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the background:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 5 1/2" square as I wanted some extra for the inside of my card.  I used a pink and orange colour combo, which is one of my faves, along with kraft card as my neutral.  I grabbed the Uniko stencil and firstly inked the pink part, once that is complete you clean the stencil and then flip it over so that you can ink the orange part.  It's such a clever stencil and even a messy crafter like me was impressed at how well it lines up and looks so crisp.  I cut a scalloped panel from the kraft card and then cut down my stencilled panel to fit inside and also used my corner rounder to match the stitching on the kraft panel.  I adhered them together with liquid glue.  I decided to make my sentiment panel a diamond shape also as I didn't think it would look right with a square or circle so hand cut the white diamond and also a mat layer from vellum.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink and then layered the two diamonds with foam squares.  It was also added to the panel with foam squares for lots of dimension.  I finished off with some black pearls.  I added some scrap white card behind the panel for some thin dimension and stability and then added it to my card base with double sided tape.  For the inside I cut another kraft panel and layered a white panel on top with liquid glue.  I fussy cut some diamonds from the left over stencilled panel and added them to the top left and bottom right corners with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink in the upper centre of the panel.  I adhered the panel to my card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Color Throwdown challenge - kraft, fuchsia and orange
Creative Inspirations challenge - stars and/or stripes (there are stripes in my background)
Creative Friday challenge - neon colours or bold colours
Die Cut Divas challenge - birthday cards
Inkspirational challenge - three of the same (3 pearl embellishments)
Stencil Fun challenge - anything stencil goes optional twist your flag colours
The Paper Funday challenge - ATG optional twist fun with stencils
Tic Tac Toe challenge - layers, free, summer colours

Krafty Chicks challenge #745 - Stamps

Good morning lovely friends. I hope you're all doing ok and having a great week so far. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge. This week we are back to Week 1 and as always the theme is 'Stamps' and Leanne is our hostess. We want you to use your clear, wooden or even digital stamps this week.  We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
It was my son's birthday last week (I can't believe my baby is now 28 lol!) so this challenge was just perfect timing.  I know the card is very similar to the one I made my niece but I stepped it up a little as it was for my little boy.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
Here is a full view of the front:
A closer look at the dies:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I decided to make a 5" x 7" easel card.  I cut one piece of white card 5" x 7" and scored it in half and one piece white card 5" x 8" and scored it at 1".  I then glued them together to make my card base.  I also cut an extra 5" x 7" piece to attach to the front of the half panel to create the easel part of the card.  I hope you understand my ramblings.  I then cut a white panel 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" and using some geometric background stamps randomly stamped them all over (I did first and second generation stamping so that I would have a light and dark version of the blue colour ink).  I cut a black mat slightly larger than the panel and adhered them together with double sided tape.  I die cut the headphones and games controller, mostly using card from my scraps bin, and added them together with liquid glue.  They were added to the card with foam squares.  I die cut the word SON from black card 4 times and adhered them together with liquid glue.  I also die cut the number 28 4 times and again used liquid glue to stack them together.  They were both added to the panel with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink and used the matching die to cut it out.  I added it to the panel with foam squares.  As the background was quite busy I didn't feel the need to add any further embellishments.  For the inside I cut another white panel 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" and masked the bottom so that I could stamp a border to match the outside panel.  I also die cut the smaller games controller and added that above the border with foam squares (this also acts as the stopper that holds the easel card open).  I stamped the sentiment in the upper centre in black ink.  I cut another black mat and adhered them together with double sided tape.  The panel was then added to my card base with double sided tape.  I love the funky stamped background and it would look cool in lots of colours I think.  Thankfully my son loved his card.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Creative Creases challenge - ATG with a fun fold
Seize the Birthday challenge - ATG birthday optional topping: masculine
Sweet Stampin' challenge - it's our birthday

AAA Birthday challenge #68 - lovely layers

Good morning friends and welcome to December!  I apologise for my late post; today is the start of having a new kitchen fitted so I've been frantically clearing out 25 years of stuff and completely forgot about my post.  I am repeating the mantra - it will be worth it in the end lol!

Today I'm sharing my card for this month's brand new challenge over at the AAA Birthday challenge. This month our theme is 'lovely layers'. Our guest designer this month is the lovely Jo from Dotty Pudding Designs so please pop over to her blog and leave her some love.
This month we'd like to see some layers on your birthday cards.  Now these could be patterned paper layers, a layering stencil, some layered up dies or mats. Or any other way you can think of!  I went with layers of embossed card and as I needed a birthday for my niece from my boys I combined the two.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A close up of the cute images:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I decided to make a square card for a change and the card size is 5 1/2" square.   I began by cutting all my layers from white and pink card in decreasing sizes and embossed the white panels with a swiss dot embossing folder.  I adhered the base layer with double sided tape and the top layers with foam tape.  For some definition I ink blended some pink ink over the embossing on the diamond oriented panels.  I already had the images coloured from a while ago (coloured with Promarkers) and just had to fussy cut them out.  I added them to the top panel with foam squares.  I stamped the sentiment and added a cousin word below and then die cut it out with a rectangle die; this was also added with foam squares.  The panel was then added to the card base with double sided tape.  For a finishing touch I added a few pink pearls in each corner.  For the inside I cut a white panel and added a pink mat.  I embossed another piece of white card and added it to the bottom of the panel with double sided tape and added a strip of pink card above it.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink.  The panel was added to the card base with double sided tape.  Something a bit different from me but it definitely has lots of layers.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Can You Handle The Pressure challenge - Anything embossing goes optional twist winter fun
Crafty Gals Corner challenge - ATG optional twist use 3+ layers
Inspired By challenge - inspired by celebrations (I was inspired by the colours)

The Design Team have created amazing cards as always so please pop over to the blog and check them out and perhaps leave them some love on their personal blogs.

I hope you will be able to join in with the challenge this month but don't forget it has to be birthday themed.  I can't wait to see your creations in the linky.

I'll be back later with another card for you so hopefully you can stop by.  Have a great day.

Krafty Chicks challenge #743 - CAS

Good morning lovely friends. I hope you're all doing ok and having a great week so far. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge. This week is Week 3 and as always the theme is 'CAS' and Diane is your hostess. You are free to make whatever creation you like but we want to see lots of open, unadorned, space on your projects.  We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I made another Christmas card this week, although I'm not really sure I need any more, but it's always handy to have a few spares isn't it.  I went extreme CAS this week but I like the finished result, I hope you do too.  I think the kraft and gold give it a rustic feel and it would be suitable for a man too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the tree:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 2 1/2" x 5 1/2" and heat embossed a sentiment about 2/3rds down the panel using gold detail embossing powder.  I stamped the tree in green ink and cut it out with scissors then took an embossing pen and added dots to the tree to resemble baubles; I again heat embossed them with gold powder.  I wanted the star to be the same gold as everything else so I swiped a piece of white card with an embossing pad, sprinkled embossing powder over it, melted it and then when cool die cut a star from it.  I added the tree and star above the sentiment with foam squares.  I added the white panel to my kraft card base with foam tape.  I resisted the urge to add anything else and moved on to the inside.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and stamped part of the tree in the bottom left corner, again adding another heat embossed die cut star and added a small sentiment in the centre of the panel with black ink.  The panel was adhered to the card base with double sided tape.  The embossing looks really pretty in real life and goes perfectly with the kraft card.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Alphabet challenge - Q is for quick & easy
Aud Sentiments challenge - glitter and/or Christmas + sentiment
Craft Rocket challenge - Christmas and/or winter
Daisy Chain challenge - Christmas and/or winter
