Uniko - brand ambassador inspiration

Good morning friends and happy Saturday yay!  I hope you can manage to fit some crafting into your weekend plans.  I'm here today to share some more inspiration using Uniko's newly released 'Ink & Flip: Christmas Star, Star stencil but this time I wanted to show that this stencil is definitely not just for Christmas.  

It's my sister's birthday next week so I thought I would get ahead and make a card for her from my sons.  I decided to make a tri-fold card as I've seen quite a few of them on blogs and social media recently.  I went with a subtle grey, black and white colour combo and I think it turned out great.  I hope you like it.

I began by cutting 3 white panels 4" x 5 1/4" and stencilled the Christmas star into the bottom left and top right corners using a light grey ink and a dark grey ink.  I die cut each panel using an arch die and also cut a slightly larger arch from black card 3 times.  I adhered each stencilled arch onto a black arch using liquid glue.  To create the card base I cut a piece of white card 12" wide x 3 1/2" tall and scored it at 4" and 8" into a z shape.  I stamped all the sentiments using black ink and then added each arch onto the card base using liquid glue.  I also added another plain white arch on the backside of the card to make it look more finished.  I embellished with a few tiny silver stars and added some silver crystals in the centres of the stencilled stars.  A fairly simple card but I think it's quite dramatic and elegant.

Krafty Chicks challenge #834 - CAS (clean and simple)

Good morning lovely friends and welcome to my little corner of blogland. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 3; and as always the theme is 'CAS (clean and simple)' and Diane is our hostess. Now we know that CAS is subjective but generally it's lots of open space (doesn't have to be white), no embellishments (or very few) and an uncluttered design. It can be a difficult design to pull off but we hope you will take on the challenge and come over and join in the fun with us.

I created a fun stencil background and decided to cut it into strips so that I could make two cards this week; one birthday card and one get well card.  They turned out very clean and simple but perfect for mailing.  I hope you like them.

I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and actually used the recently released Christmas star stencil from Uniko to create my background.  I masked off two of the sections and used one for the yellow ink and one for the lime green ink.  It was a bit time consuming and as I did it 'by eye' it has some imperfections but it shows how you can stretch your stencils to create something completely different.  When I cut down the card I didn't plan on making two cards so the strips are slightly different widths.  The birthday card strip is 1 5/8" x 5 1/4 and this was matted onto a black layer with just a tiny border of the black showing on the left side.  For the get well card the strip is 1 5/16" x 5 1/4" and again a black layer was added with a thin border on the right side.  I cut two more white panels 4" x 5 1/4" and adhered the strips with double sided tape.  I cut two stitched circles from white card and stamped the sentiments in black ink.  I also cut a black mat circle and adhered them together using liquid glue.  The sentiments were added over the strips with foam squares.  The panels were adhered to my card bases with double sided tape.  For the inside I cut the left over stencilled background into 1/2" strips and again added black mat layers.  I added them to the right side of my white panels using liquid glue and stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink.  The panels were adhered to the card base using double sided tape.

Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July release day!

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. Today is the day that you can purchase the new goodies from Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July release. I've had so much fun this week as brand ambassador and I do have one more card for you using the new release products. Before I show you my card I thought I would re-cap the new products that are now available.

And that wraps up the new Release. I hope you love the products as much as I do. But, as always, the Brand Ambassadors are here to tempt and inspire you a little bit more.

For my final card I used the Winter Garlands clear stamp to create a get well card.  I went with a horizontal A2 card for a change and I think it turned out great.  I hope you like it.

I began by stamping 3 of the garlands onto alcohol marker friendly card and coloured them with my Promarkers.  I didn't use my usual green combo and this time went with a more olive toned colour scheme.  I initially had a different idea in my head for this card so fussy cut all three garlands and also separated them into 3 smaller pieces.  My idea was initially to have a wreath style arrangement but didn't want to make a Christmas card as I wanted to showcase how this particular stamp is suitable for all year round.  I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and arranged the garlands coming in from the sides leaving a space in the centre for my sentiment.  In hindsight I could have just stamped them directly onto the card in this arrangement but hey-ho the fussy cutting wasn't too bad.  I added the garlands with liquid glue.  I stamped the get well message in the centre with black ink and also added black spatter.  I added some scrap white card behind the panel before adhering it to my card base with double sided tape.  For the inside I cut another white panel and as I had two pieces of the garland left over adhered them to the top left and bottom right corners with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink and also added some black spatters just in the corners.  The panel was added to my card base with double sided tape.

Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July release - day 4 introductions

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. It's day four and the final day of introductions for Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July release. Today's introduction is another clear stamp set called 'Winter Garlands' and it contains 3 different gorgeous garlands that will fit vertically or horizontally on your A2 panel. This is another set that can be used for both Christmas and all year through.

I went very clean and simple for today's card.  I cut a white panel of alcohol marker friendly card to 4' x 5 1/4" and stamped the holly garland vertically more towards the left side of the panel.  I used my Promarkers to colour the holly and berries and stamped the sentiment in black ink.  I adhered the panel onto my card base using double sided tape.  Literally about 4 steps to make this card and it would be perfect to mass produce.  For the inside I cut another white panel and stamped the garland horizontally at the bottom of the panel and again coloured it with my Promarkers.  I stamped a strip sentiment below the garland using black ink and then adhered the panel onto my card base using double sided tape.  I didn't think my card needed anything else as I loved the CAS design.

Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July release - day 3 introductions

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. It's day three of introductions for Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July release. Our next introduction is a fantastic layering stencil called 'Layering Modern Poinsettias'. I think you would know this was a Uniko design as it screams of Bev's unique style.  It is a funky, modern design and can be used for all year around, not only Christmas.

Plus I decorated the inside:

I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and decided to go for a very unusual colour combo for my poinsettias.  I had seen this combo on Pinterest and thought it would be something different instead of the usual red and I love how it turned out.  I used two shades of light brown for my poinsettias (I used the same colour on the first two layers but went with a much heavier hand on the second layer) and a darker brown for my sentiment.  I again used the spruce greens for my leaves.  I added some crystal glaze to the dots to give them a little shine.  Once it the glaze was dry I adhered my panel to the card base using double sided tape.  For the inside I cut another white panel, ink blended the sandy beach ink along the bottom and used the kraft and medium spruce inks to add some dots along the blended strip.  The sentiment was stamped in the darker brown ink and the panel was adhered to the card base using double sided tape.  If this card didn't have a Christmas greeting I think it could be used for any occasion.

Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July - day 2 introductions

Good morning friends and welcome back to my blog. It's day two of introductions for Uniko's Christmas *almost* in July release. Our next introduction is a fantastic clear stamp set called 'Rustic Snowflake'. This is a beautiful stamp set and there are so many possibilities of how to use it.

Plus I decorated the inside:

I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and using versamark ink stamped the snowflakes in each corner of the panel.  I used white embossing powder and heat set it until it was melted.  Once it had cooled I took a pink ink pad and lightly blended over the corners leaving some white space in the centre.  For a little more intesity I added some darker pink ink in the very corners and also added some spatter using the dark ink pad.  I found some card stock that matched my ink blending really well so decided to add a mat layer behind my panel so I cut down the white panel slightly and adhered them together using liquid glue.  I used a strip of the same card stock and stamped the sentiment, again using versamark, and heat set it with white embossing powder before adding it to the centre of the panel using liquid glue.  I finished off with some clear solid sequins.  The panel was then adhered to the card base using double sided tape.  For the inside I cut another white panel and dark pink mat layer and adhered them together with liquid glue.  When I was creating the front panel I messed up my first attempt as my paper moved slightly so I took the one corner that was perfect and cut it down into a triangular shape and added that over the white panel using liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment using the lighter pink ink in the centre and then adhered it to my card base using double sided tape.
