Woohoo exciting news!!

I cannot contain my excitement any longer – I have been chosen as a DT member for Charisma Cardz challenge.  I was shocked when I received the email from Carly-Ann as I was so sure I wasn’t going to be picked.  There are 6 new DT members all together, which were chosen from 176 applications!!

I’m look forward to working along Carly-Ann and the super talented DT over there.  Their new challenges are posted every Thursday and I will be taking part from next week (gulp!).  I hope you will pop over and support me and take a look at all the lovely cards.  I’ll be back later with a card, I hope :) 

Exciting news!

Just a quick post to share two bits of exciting news I’ve had recently.  Firstly I’ve been chosen to be a guest designer for the Stamptacular challenge for the month of June *yay*.  My first project will be for tomorrow’s challenge, so please pop over and show me some love (lol).  I will of course be sharing my project with you here tomorrow as well.

My second piece of good news is that I’m also going to be a guest designer for the Digi doodle challenge for the month of June too!!  June is definitely going to be a busy month for me lol!  My first project will be on their blog next Friday, so I hope you can pop over then and take a peek.  

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend (so far), the weather here is lovely today, but not sure if it’s going to last much longer *sob*.  I will hopefully be back later to share a card with you but until then have a good day and thanks for stopping by.

My baby is 16!!

Just a quick post as I’m going to be out all day today.  It is my son’s 16th Birthday today and I wanted to pop on and send him loving birthday wishes.  Have a wonderful day Shane!  I can’t believe my baby is 16 – where does the time go?  I’m sorry for the rubbish picture (which I have pinched from his Facebook page) but when the computer crashed last year I lost all my photos and I haven’t got any new ones on my computer yet! 

We’re off to the cinema today and maybe a pizza, depending on what the birthday boy wants to do! 

I'll be back tomorrow with a card but until then have a wonderful weekend.  Hope the weather is good where you are.

Edited to add – I just want to say a big thank you for all your messages regarding the drummer image – I’ve been given lots of places to look and offers of images so thank you very much.  I will of course share my card with you next week.  Crafters are definitely the nicest people :)  Hugs, Denise x

I need your help – my son is 16 on Saturday and he is a very keen drummer.  Does anyone know of a “funky” drummer digi image that I can get hold of to make his card?  Yes I know I’ve left it last minute – but it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t lol!. 

If you know of anything can you either leave me a comment or alternatively email me?

Welcome 2010!

Hello and Happy New Year to everyone who visits my little ‘ol blog.  Hope you all had a good night last night :)  We had a quiet celebration, just me, hubby and the boys but it was lovely to toast in the new year with my loved ones. 

Any new years resolutions this year?  I have the same one as usual – lose some weight (yeah like that’s going to happen) but I would also like to get more organised with my crafting, as I always seem to be chasing my tail (especially for deadlines) :)  I am so much more confident as a crafter than I was at the beginning of 2009, thanks in part to me being chosen for some awesome design teams and also the wonderful comments I receive from my fellow crafters – I appreciate each and every one of them.  I hope I can continue improve again this year and hope you will also continue to visit me and let me know what you think of my work. 

Also I just wanted to remind you that you still have time to enter the Passion for Promarkers mega Christmas challenge, the new challenge will launch at 9am next Tuesday (5th January 2010).  There are some amazing prizes up for grabs so why not have a go!!  The new weekend workshop has also been posted and you can see a fabulous tutorial by Michele, so go over and take a look. 

Wow I’ve rattled on a bit haven’t I lol!  I will hopefully be back later with something crafty to show you but until then have a wonderful day and Happy New Year!

Now I’ve had an interesting half hour looking back at my cards from 2009 and boy have my cards changed in that time (hopefully for the better lol).  I have quite a few favourites and I don’t mean that big-headedly (if there is such a word) but I have picked this card as my favourite one for 2009.  I hope you agree :)

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year.  I hope you’ve all been good girls (and boys) and Santa brings you everything on your list :) 

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving me such wonderful comments throughout the year – I appreciate each and every one of them.  I have ‘met’ some very special and talented people since I began my blog and I can’t wait to begin another exciting crafting year.  I have been so lucky this year – I’ve have been asked to join several design teams and also began the PFP challenge blog along with Gina and I’m hoping that 2010 will be even better – but I couldn’t have done any of this without you, my fellow crafters and your words of encouragement and support.

A snowy update!

Hello and welcome to a snowy South Wales :)  This was the view from my front door yesterday morning.  I really love the snow but only when I don’t have to go to work!!  It caused me no end of problems getting to work both yesterday and today.  I had to leave my car in the street and walk to the main road to get a taxi yesterday and a bus today (I don’t think I’ve been on a bus for about 10 years and it’s not an experience I wish to repeat!!)  I had so much planned to do this week but I don’t think I’m going to be able to do any of it – no-one is getting cards locally, although I did manage to post my cards further afield.  The kids thought it was awesome that they missed the last two days of school and went out throwing snowballs yesterday but stayed tucked up in the warm today. 

I hope we have a bit of a thaw soon as I’m supposed to be going to my sister’s for Christmas lunch and although she doesn’t live that far away it will be a major walk especially carrying all their presents!! 

I hope everyone is safe and sound and enjoying the wintry weather, if you have any.  I will hopefully be back before Christmas but I had better get some wrapping done first lol!  Thanks for stopping by today. 

Wow what a week!

I just wanted to pop on and say sorry that I haven't been around very much this week. I've had a busy week with card orders and organising school uniforms etc. but rest assured I have lots of show you over the next few days and I will be back later with a card. I must apologise to everyone that has given me awards over the last few months :( I've got them all safely tucked away but just haven't had a chance to add them to my blog - I will also be rectifying this over the next few days too. Stayed tuned....... I'll be back!

I’m back………..

Wow I can’t believe my week’s holiday has flown by so fast!!  I just wanted to let you know that I am back and boy do I have some catching up to do!  I have come home to 579 emails (they will keep me busy for some time). 

I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone that has entered my blog candy - almost 600 comments now – I’m stunned at the amount of interest it has generated.  Don’t forget you still have until Sunday 23rd August at 7pm to be in with a chance of winning.

Update on Passion for Promarkers blog

I'm so lucky....

.... to have crafty friends! I wanted to say a BIG thank you to all of you who have left me such kind and thoughtful messages (and emailed me) in the last few days. It is so touching to know that people that I have never "met" are thinking of me and sending me their loving wishes. I'm doing ok and the funeral is going to be on Friday, so hopefully we can try and get on with things after that (but never forget, I don't mean that but life has to go on doesn't it). You always feel in limbo in the time in between don't you. I will be back later with a card. Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate all your kind words.

Sad news

I just wanted to let you know that my posting may be a little erratic for a while as sadly my grandfather passed away yesterday. He was a fantastic man and would have been 96 in September. He had a good life and had 6 children so always had lots of family around him, as he did yesterday when he slipped away from us. He was always happy and never let anything get him down, a tip most of us should take from him I think.

I will be around and will be posting but probably not as often as I usually do. Please bear with me as I will need to craft to take my mind off things. Don't know when the funeral will be just yet, so everything is "up in the air". Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Hubby!

My husband (Heath) is going to kill me for posting this but I wanted to wish him a very happy 42nd birthday. He is a great husband and father and does so much for us, although let's not build him up too much, he's not perfect lol! We went out for pizza and a look around the shops today and he treated himself to a few things. So hubster I'm sending you all my love and look forward to spending many more years together (awww!). Happy birthday Diane

Today is my virtual friend Diane's birthday - happy birthday hun!! I can show you the card/folder I made now as I know she has received it. I stamped my new Geisha Anya (the greeting farm from dies to die for) and coloured her with my pro-markers, adding a few highlights with a sakura stardust pen. The dp is doodlebug and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The adhesive pearls are kanban (nearly all gone oh no!) and the sentiment is craftwork cards. The button, ribbon, flowers and alphabet bead are all from my stash. I followed the sketch on charisma cardz but unfortunately I missed the deadline to enter it for the challenge. Never mind 'cos I love how it turned out, the colour scheme is really nice and I should use it more often (note to self). If you haven't already visited Diane's blog, why not? Oh my goodness my blog candy goodies arrived from Sally-Ann yesterday and I was blown away but how much there is. Now I did cheat and I borrowed the photo from Sally-Ann's blog (thank you) as I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it justice if I had taken a photo. I don't know what to use first, there is so much. It was even deliciously wrapped in pink tissue paper. I have a busy weekend planned as I have lots of cards to make for orders so I will definitely be reaching for this to make some of them.

I also heard yesterday that I won the blog candy on Tracy's blog (ella bella), which was 2 downloads by Tinker & Co. I am so chuffed. I haven't had them yet but am excited to see what they are. I think I must have kissed the blarney stone or picked up a 4 leafed clover as I have been so lucky lately (not knocking it at all though). I am going to be doing some candy of my own soon (need to do some shopping first though so won't be straight away) to celebrate my CCC Designer status and also winning so many candies from everyone else.
