Fall Friends IG Card Hop - Week 12

Hello again friends; I am very late with my post this week; the day just got away from me. Anyway I'm back with my card for Week 12 of the 'Fall Friends' IG card hop organised by my lovely friend Kelly. This week is our final week and we have a fab 'mood board' for our inspiration.  A really fun theme and I can't wait to see what sparks your imagination.
Here is the mood board:
What comes to mind when you see this gorgeous photo?  I was immediately drawn to the leaves and the gorgeous colours so that I what I based my card on.  I have to say I did struggle a little this week (maybe I'm all fall'ed out lol!) and left it until the final moment to finish my card.  As a consequence the light was really gloomy and my photos are a little dark.  Anyway I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the leaves:
I also decorated the inside:
For a change I made a light brown card base.  I began by cutting a warm cream panel 4" x 5 1/4" and added some ink around the edges with kraft ink before adhering it directly onto my card base with double sided tape.  I die cut 4 leaves from brown, red, yellow and caramel card and also embossed them with a leaf embossing folder for some extra interest.  I die cut the thanks word 4 times and the shadow was die cut from vellum.  I added one layer onto the vellum and added the other 3 behind the vellum with liquid glue.  I stamped a sentiment onto cream card with brown ink and used a sentiment strip die to cut it out.  I arranged the leaves and added the sentiments, all with foam squares.  For a finishing touch I added some gold sequins.  For the inside I cut another warm cream panel 4" x 5 1/4" and inked around the edges with kraft ink and added it to the card base with double sided tape.  I die cut another 2 leaves but left them plain this time and added them to the bottom of the panel with liquid glue.  I stamped a sentiment in the centre with brown ink.   At the last minute I decided to add some crystal glaze to the thanks word so that it was shiny and looks dimensional.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

A Place to Start challenge - ATG optional twist sentiment of thanks
Can You Handle The Pressure challenge - ATG embossing optional twist winter fun
Cardz 4 Guyz challenge - grateful/thankful/blessed
Cupcake Inspirations challenge - toffee, yellow, red

Fall Friends IG Card Hop - Week 11

Hello again friends; I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. I'm back with my card for Week 11 of the 'Fall Friends' IG card hop organised by my lovely friend Kelly. This week is our penultimate week and our theme is 'gratitude or fall florals'. A really fun theme this week and you could make a thank you or thanksgiving card or simply go for a fall floral card, which is what I did.
I needed a card for friend so what better to use than flowers and sunflowers are perfect for fall and so pretty too.  I made a 5" x 7" card as it was for someone special.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A close up of the sunflower:
I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a panel of ivory card 4 1/8" x 6 3/8" and embossing it with an embossing folder and adhered it to a kraft card mat with double sided tape.  I stamped two of the sunflower images onto alcohol marker friendly card and coloured them with my Promarkers (although I've noticed that I forgot to colour the centre of the top sunflower - oops!).  I used the matching dies to cut them out.  I cut a strip of the ivory card 4 1/4" x 1 1/4" and adhered it to a kraft card mat with double sided tape.  I then added this onto the centre of embossed panel with double sided tape.  I stamped and die cut the sentiment from the same stamp set and die cut the friend word from dark yellow card; I also cut the friend word from white card and layered them together for some dimension.  Both the sentiments were added to the strip with liquid glue.  I added the sunflowers to opposite corners with foam squares.  The whole panel was then added to my card base with foam tape.  As a finishing touch I die cut some circles from the dark yellow card, adhered them to my panel with liquid glue and then added crystal glaze over the top to make my own enamel-type embellishments that matched my sentiment perfectly.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" and adhered it to a kraft card mat with double sided tape.  I stamped the sunflower in a light beige ink in the bottom left corner and added a strip of the ivory card that I embossed with the embossing folder.  I also added a strip of the kraft card above this.   I stamped the sentiment in the upper centre of the panel with black ink.  I added the whole panel onto my card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps & More challenge - make your mark (coloured with Promarkers)

Can You Handle The Pressure challenge - anything embossing goes optional coffee/cocoa/warm drinks

Fall Friends IG Card Making Hop - Week 6

Hello again friends; I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday. I'm back with my card for Week 6 of the 'Fall Friends' IG card hop organised by my lovely friend Kelly. For Week 5 Traci is our hostess and she has chosen 'non-traditional fall leaves/no fall colours'.

I decided to choose the non-traditional fall leaves but it fits the no fall colours brief too but if you don't want to use leaves then that's perfectly fine too.  I was originally going to do pinks/purples but then thought that black, grey and white would look really different so that is what I ended up doing.  I hope you like it.   I apologise for the photos but it was really dark and dreary here today; my card looks so much better in real life.
Here is my card:
A close up look at the leaves:
I also decorated the inside:
I began by die cutting the leaves; I cut 3 of the larger black leaves and 2 each of the grey and white leaves.  I adhered them together with liquid glue so that I would have some dimension on my card.  I wanted a subtle background so went for ink smooshing some ink just into the bottom left corner of my panel; I also added some splatters with the same ink.

Side note: I've been watching a YouTube channel called NB Cards and she shows how to make your own ink smoosher so that you can have more control over where your ink goes; honestly it is a game changer for me - the main reason I don't do more smooshing is that it seems to go everywhere and I can't get the 'pattern' I want but this little tool changes all that.  It is simply a food storage bag (I used one from Ikea) some bunched up kitchen roll inside and then tie the top of the bag (I used an elastic band to close mine) and tape the sides so that it resembles a ball shape.  You can also use different size bags to make larger and smaller ones.  You simply dip this into your ink and tap lightly onto your paper.  Honestly give it a go, it's awesome.  Here's a link to her video if you want to see it.

Anyway back to the card.  Once the panel was dry I added it to a black mat layer cut to 4" x 5 1/4" with double sided tape.  I then adhered the leaves with liquid glue in an arrangement in the corner.  I stamped a sentiment in black ink and used the large sentiment strip die to cut it out.  I added this over the leaves with foam squares.  I added the panel to my card base with foam tape.  I didn't add any embellishments as I liked it as it was.  For the inside I ink smooshed another white panel and adhered it to a black mat layer with double sided tape.  I cut another 3 leaves and added them with liquid glue.  I didn't add a sentiment as I thought I could add one later.  I adhered the panel to the card base with double sided tape.  I am really happy with my card and I think the monochrome colour scheme really looks lovely.  I hope you like it too.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

AAA Cards challenge - sketch (I rotated it)
Aud Sentiments challenge - embossing and/or fall + sentiment
Craft Rocket challenge - autumn and/or halloween

Fall Friends Card Making IG Hop - Week 2

Hello again friends; I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday.  I'm back with my card for Week 2 of the 'Fall Friends' IG card hop organised by my lovely friend Kelly.  For Week 2 we want to see 'autumn leaves and mushrooms please' so dig out all your autumn/fall images and join in the fun.
After rooting through my stash I found two stamps sets from Clearly Besotted Stamps that fit the bill perfectly.  I decided to make a thank you card as I don't have many of these cards in my card box.
Here is my card:
a closer look at the images:
I decorated the inside as usual:
I began by stamping the leaves using lots of Gina K ink pads.  As they were solid stamps I decided to add some shading with a slightly darker ink using a blending brush for some contrast.  I used the matching dies to cut them out.  I stamped the mushrooms and coloured them with Promarkers; using a white gel pen to colour the white dots.  I again used the matching dies to cut them out.  For the background I grabbed a woodgrain background die and cut a panel from kraft card 4" x 5 1/4".  I won't tell you how long it took me to finally be happy with the placement of my leaves and mushrooms (but it was a while); the larger leaves and mushrooms were added with foam squares and everything else was added with liquid glue.  I die cut the thank you word from gold mirri card and the shadow from vellum.  I adhered them together with liquid glue.  To add the words to the card I cut tiny slithers of foam tape for some extra dimension.  I added the panel onto my card base with foam tape.  For a finishing touch I added a few gold solid sequins with liquid glue.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4".  I used the woodgrain die again on a narrow strip of kraft card and added that to the bottom of the panel with double sided tape.  I had some leaves, mushrooms and an acorn left over from the front so added them to the strip with liquid glue.  I stamped a sentiment in kraft ink in the centre of the panel.  This was then added to the card base with double sided tape.  I really like the finished result and I hope you do too.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

AAA Colourful challenge - colourboard #8
As You Like It challenge - layered or flat (I love dimension on my cards so would 99% of the time choose layered)

Fall Friends Card Hop - Week 1

Hello again friends; I hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday.  Today's post is week 1 of an IG hop that I'm taking part in called 'Fall Friends' organised once again by my lovely friend Kelly and this hop will last for the next 11 weeks.  It's a continuation of the Summer Soiree hop that we did in the summer but this time it's all about fall (or autumn if you're this side of the pond).  Week 1 is 'a latte fall fun' so dig out your coffee themed dies and images and join in the fun.

I had a couple of coffee themed images but decided to use a long neglected red rubber stamp from Whiff of Joy Stamps (which sadly closed many years ago).  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
a close up of the image:
I decorated the inside as usual:
I began by stamping my image onto alcohol marker friendly card and coloured it with Promarkers.  There isn't a matching die so I fussy cut it out.  I cut a piece of white card 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and stamped 3 coffee rings in shades of brown.  I did stamp some coffee beans but didn't like them so covered them with sequins.  I also stamped my sentiment in black ink.  I cut a piece of neutral coloured patterned paper 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and coloured the edges with an orange promarker so that it would match my image.  I added the paper to my card base with double sided tape.  I adhered my panel on top of this with foam tape.  I also added my image with foam squares.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and inked around the edge with the broad end of my orange promarker.  I stamped 2 coffee rings and 3 coffee beans.  I also stamped a sentiment in black ink.  I adhered this panel onto my card base with double sided tape.  A fairly clean and simple-ish card and orange isn't normally a colour I use but I like it.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Allsorts challenge - autumn colours
I Love Promarkers challenge - ATG/autumn golds and browns
Sweet Stampin' challenge - the drinks are on us
The Paper Funday challenge - ATG optional twist create your own background
Unicorn challenge - circles (my coffee rings)
We Love Stamping challenge - hand coloured image

I hope you will pop over to Instagram and check out the hop; use the hashtag #fallfriendscardhop2024 to see all the gorgeous creations and also if you want to participate we will be able to find you.

I'll be back tomorrow with my card for the Krafty Chicks challenge so I hope you will pop back and check it out.  Until then enjoy the rest of your day and thank you so much for stopping by.
