Dragonfly Dreams challenge - GDT card

Good morning and happy Sunday lovely friends. I hope you are all doing ok and finding lots of time to get crafty. Well the weather is certainly perfect for staying indoors and crafting as it's now really chilly and wet here in South Wales.  I'm not sure if you are the same as me but as soon as the clocks go back I don't want to leave the house after 4pm lol!
I am delighted to be a guest designer over at Dragonfly Dreams challenge this month and they have a fantastic theme of 'feminine'.  I'm sure this is going to be a really popular challenge and I'm looking forward to seeing all your pretty, girly creations.  I think flowers are always my go-to when I think of feminine and I combined them with a soft colour combo and pretty dies.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the flowers:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stamping the florals and coloured them with the coordinating stencils using two colours of teal/blue for the flowers and two greys for the leaves.  I went with blue as I was itching to use one of my new ink pads from Gina K Designs so chose the new Cadet Blue which is beautiful.  I stamped the sentiment in black and used the coordinating dies to cut out both the sentiment and flowers (I cut 3 more of each from white so that I could layer them up for some extra dimension).  After watching Gina on Thursday showcase Master Layouts 19 I decided to use the scalloped dies and I cut the fancy scalloped die from white card and the scalloped mat layer from a teal/blue card and I adhered them together with liquid glue.  Before I adhered the centre panel I took a lattice stencil and the lightest grey ink pad and stencilled a soft grounding panel for my flowers.  The centre panel was adhered in place with liquid glue.  I cut a white panel 3 7/8" x 4 6/8" and also a teal/blue mat layer 4" x 4 7/8" and adhered them together with double sided tape.  I added the scalloped panel with double sided tape and then added the flowers with liquid glue and the sentiment with foam squares.  I finished off with some clear solid sequins.  I added some scrap white card behind the panel for some dimension and then adhered it to the card base with double sided tape.  As I still had the sparkle gel on my card from my winter card I used my finger and added a small amount over the flowers for a pretty sparkle.  For the inside I cut the same white and blue layers and also cut another scalloped panel and mat.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink and then adhered the panel to the card base.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Beautiful Blossoms challenge - anything floral goes optional mood board
Cardz 4 Galz challenge - colouring (I coloured by ink blending using a stencil)

Christmas (or not) BINGO challenge - GDT card

Happy Saturday friends and welcome to November.  I'm not really sure what happened to October but I hope you're ready for a brand new month.  I'm here this morning to share my card as GDT for The Christmas (or not) BINGO challenge. I was lucky enough to win one of their recent challenges and was honoured to be asked to be a guest designer. The challenge is an awesome BINGO board but you can only choose one vertical line to follow and use at least 3 of the options.  I chose to use Line I for my card (winter, icy blue or lavender, free, aperture or frame and snowflakes) and actually fulfilled all the criteria - go me!!
Here is the BINGO board for this challenge:
I chose to use icy blue for my colours as I really like blue for Christmas cards especially paired with snowflakes and my card is 5" x 7" in size.  Most of the elements are layered up so there is quite a lot of dimension on this card.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I took an extra close up photo to try and capture the sparkle gel in the background:
I began by die cutting each snowflake 4 times from white card as well as the frame 4 times and adhered them together with liquid glue.   I used the mat layer die to cut a panel from light blue card and covered it in starlight sparkle gel and put it aside to dry.  I made my card base from white card cut to 10" x 7" and scored it at 5" along the longer side.  I stamped the sentiment in blue ink and used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I adhered the frame onto the blue layer using double sided tape and the added the snowflakes with liquid glue.  I adhered the sentiment in the left bottom corner and finished off with some clear solid sequins.  It was difficult to capture there sparkle gel but it looks so pretty in real life.  For the inside I cut a white panel using a stitched rectangle die and a blue mat layer and adhered them together with double sided tape.  I stamped the sentiment in blue ink and die cut a snowflake from blue card and adhered that in the bottom right corner.  The panel was adhered to the card base with double sided tape.  I'm really happy with how this card turned out.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

CRAFT challenge - Christmas
Crafter's Cafe challenge - ATG optional Christmas
Merry Little Christmas challenge - anything Christmas goes

The Male Room challenge - GDT card

Hello again friends; I'm here again this morning to share my card as GDT for The Male Room challenge.  I was lucky enough to win one of their recent challenges and was honoured to be asked to be a guest designer for them.  The challenge this month is 'for a baby boy' which was perfect for me as one of my son's friends has just welcomed a new baby boy.
I've seen lots of baby dresser shaped cards on Pinterest so was inspired to give one a go. I love making baby cards, especially shaped ones, but sadly don't seem to need them very often these days.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I made a 5" x 7" top folding card but cutting 1 panel 5" x 7" and one panel 5" x 8" and scoring at 1" on the 8" side.  I then adhered them together with strong red liner tape.  I cut 5 'drawers' from white card using a flag die and cut off the flag end and also cut a thinner 'top' for my dresser from white card.  To make the decorative detail on the bottom of the dresser I used a spellbinders scalloped die.  I added the top and drawers with foam squares.  I recently bought a super cute baby die set so of course I had to use it; I die cut two outfits, a teddy bear, a duck and a baby rattle using scraps of blue, yellow and kraft card.  I added some details with Promarkers, a white gel pen and black memento pen and adhered all the pieces together with liquid glue.  I also die cut the hello baby words, letters to spell out Isaac and a few white hearts.  I arranged the die cuts as I wanted and added them with liquid glue.  I finished off with some silver pearl embellishments for the drawer handles.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4 1/2" x 5 1/4" and add a blue mat layer with double sided tape.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre with blue ink and added a few more die cuts to match the front.  The panel was adhered with double sided tape. A really sweet card and even though it's not perfect, it is handmade after all, I love it and I hope Isaac's parents do too.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Animals challenge - ATG must include an animal
Critter Crazy challenge - ATG with a featured critter
The Paper Funday challenge - ATG optional twist cute or creepy
Try It On Tuesday challenge - animals: real or imaginary

Please pop over to The Male Room challenge blog for all the details/rules and to see the amazing creations from the design team.  I would like to thank Helen and the team for having me as a guest this month.  I hope you will find the time to enter the challenge and cannot wait to see all your projects in the linky.

Thanks for stopping by and see you all soon.
