Krafty Chicks challenge - GDT card week 2

Hello again friends; I hope you're having a great week so far......it's nearly Friday *yay* (although luckily for me every day is Friday now I've retired lol).  I'm back with my second card for the Krafty Chicks challenge and week 2 is always Christmas.  My Christmas card making production is going as well as most years - this is my second card - but even though I have a last minute panic they always get done!  Here is my card:

and a close up of the cute penguin

I recently got my hands on the new cute Christmas stamps from LOTV so it was the perfect excuse to ink one of them up.  I decided on this cute penguin but they are all adorable.  I coloured him with Promarkers and fussy cut him out.  For the background I used a snowflake stencil and went with light grey ink for a subtle look.  To create his 'ice rink' I actually used a balloon stencil and just masked off the end and inked that in light blue.  I die cut the white panel using a rectangle die that punches the holes which is gorgeous and added a red panel behind it so that the red would peek out from the holes.  I stamped a sentiment in black ink below the ice rink.  I then adhered this to my card base with foam tape.  I added some shimmer pen to the ice rink and then added the penguin on top with thin foam squares.  For a finishing touch I added some clear raindrops around my penguin.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Allsorts challenge - ATG or use die cuts (I used a frame die)
Craft Rocket challenge - clean and simple
Fab 'n' Funky challenge - wings or scales (penguins can't fly but use their wings to swim)
NBUS - brand new penguin stamp
Stencil Fun challenge - use stencils - option fall
The Sisterhood of Crafters challenge - die cuts/ATG (I used a die cut frame)
Use Your Stuff challenge - borders (my die cut frame has a decorative border)

Please pop over to the Krafty Chicks challenge blog to get all the details of the challenge and to give some love to the Design Team - Leanne, Melanie, Diane and Lori.  I'll be back next Thursday with my card for Week 3 - CAS.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me such lovely comments; I appreciate you all.

Love and hugs,

Cupcake craft challenge #68 – DT card

** This is my second post for today - please scroll down to see my stamp with fun DT card **

CCC challenge 68 - red & green

CCC challenge 68 - red & green (close up)

I’m back again with the new challenge over at cupcake craft challenge, which this week has been chosen by the lovely Liza. She would like to see your projects with the colour scheme of ‘red and green’ this week (again another not so difficult challenge lol!). For my card I used another neglected stamp by LOTV called ‘Isobel – winter princess’ and coloured it with my promarkers, adding stickles to her poinsettias. The beautiful papers are BG from the wassail paper pad. The adhesive stones are PM (which I coloured with my crimson promarker to match my card) and the poinsettia was made following a fab tutorial on the WOJ tutorial blog by Dawn Wheeler, although mine didn’t turn out as stunning as hers, but not too bad for a first go! The lovely sentiment is by squiggle stamps.

Our sponsor this week is the creative cottage and one lucky winner will receive 2 x digital kits.

Please do check out the rest of the DT cards as they are all stunning. I can’t wait to see what you come up with this week and look forward to visiting your blogs.

I am also entering my card into the basic grey challenge this week as I have followed Tara’s lovely sketch, colour create as their colour challenge is 'green, red & white' and charisma cardz challenge as their theme is 'anything Christmas. Thanks for stopping by today.

LOTV #24/Dutch Dare #42/Stamp Something/OCCC

This card was made as part of a set of 12 I made for my boss at work. They all used the same basic ingredients and layout, just a variety of images. This image is elzybells and is coloured with my trusty pro-markers. The dp is doodlebug and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The adhesive gems are PM and the sentiment is PB. As Easter is almost upon us this card fits the bill for 4 challenges this week - lily of the valley, dutch dare, stamp something and our creative corner, which are all asking for an Easter card or project. I'll be back later with another card but until then, thanks for stopping by.

LOTV #20 (& GD call)

This is my card for this week's Lily of the Valley challenge, which is a sketch. It is also a chance to become a guest designer *yay*. I stamped my new stamping bella image (underwatergoddess-abella - flipping 'eck that's a mouthful isn't it lol!) and coloured her with my pro-markers, I also added stickles to her mermaid tail and I've taken a second pic to hopefully show that off a little better. The turquoise dp has been in my stash for ages and it doesn't have a name on it, the patterned dp is a freebie from a craft magazine and the pink cs is from the papermill shop. The buttons are doodlebug and the flower gems are from my stash. The sentiment is also by stamping bella. I paper pricked on the plain pieces of cs for added texture. I love this image and I'm really pleased how this card turned out. I would never normally place the image down in the corner so it's a new look for me. Thanks for looking.

MTTC #49/LOTV #19

Here is my card for this week's my time to craft challenge, which is 'pink and brown' and the lily of the valley challenge is a recipe '3 brads, 2 papers and 1 flower'. I stamped my new SU crazy for cupcakes image and coloured it with my pro-markers. I added diamond glaze to the cherries and stickles to the icing. The yummy dp (one patterned and one plain) is BG from the sultry paper pad. The pearl brads are PM (I think!) and the flower is from my stash. The sentiment is also from the same SU stamp set. I don't normally leave any white showing on my card and it does look a little bare to me, but I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

LOTV #18/Pollycraft challenge #9

This is my card for this week's lily of the valley challenge, which is a sketch and the pollycraft challenge, which is 'pink' (and my card is VERY pink!). I printed off the download from pollycraft and coloured it with my pro-markers. The dp is a freebie from a craft magazine and the cs is from the papermill shop. The flourish stamp is by inkadinkado and the ribbon is from my stash. The adhesive stones are PM and the sentiment is stampendous. Thanks for looking.

Whiff of Joy #17/LOTV #17

This is my card for this week's Whiff of Joy challenge, which is a sketch by Donalda and the Lily of the Valley challenge, which is 'men'. I stamped the WOJ Charlie 007 image and coloured him with my pro-markers (adding stickles to his drink). The sentiment is also by WOJ. The dp is all BG from the granola paper pad. The buttons are from my stash although one button was originally cream so I distressed it with a sanding block and added colour with a cat's eye chalk ink pad (it looks orange in the pic but it is actually light brown). I used my fiskars threading water paper punch for the decorative edge on the light brown dp and woodware scallop circle for the dark brown dp in the corner. I'm really pleased with this card, as I really struggle with men's cards usually. Thanks for looking.

LOTV #16/Charisma Cardz #4

This is my card for this week's LOTV challenge, which was a lovely sketch and Charisma Cardz challenge which was to use black, white and one other colour of your choice. I chose to use silver as my extra colour. I stamped the floral images from the SU pocket silhouettes set in encore ultimate metallic silver ink. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. The dp is by doodlebug and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. I punched out the flowers with an x-cut paper punch and the silver centres with a small circle punch. The ribbon is by anita's. The card looks much nicer IRL but it is so dark here at the moment it's difficult to take a decent photo. Thanks for looking.

LOTV #15/Charisma Cardz #3/OSCC #13

I have again combined 3 challenges with this card (sorry if that offends but it's my only way of completing them all). The LOTV challenge is 'valentine', charisma cardz is 'love' and the OSCC is 'charmed'. I stamped the elzybells image (from the new valentine clear set s-moo-ches) and lightly coloured him with my pro-markers. The sentiment is also from the same elzybells clear set of stamps. The dp is all from the PM scrumptious paper pad and I punched the hearts with my x-cut punch. The charm was from my stash (honestly I've had it so long I can't remember where I got it from) and I just tied it with some white thread, that I probably got from woolworths (so sad, I loved woolies). I punched out the stamped image with my woodware scalloped oval paper punch. Thanks for looking.

LOTV #14

The lily of the valley challenge this week was a sketch by Donaldo. I used my new WOJ party animal stamp and coloured him with my pro-markers. The green dp is by imaginisce, the blue metallic cs is by DCWV and the patterned cs is also by DCWV from the glitter stack. The ric-rac is sticky ribbon by anita's, the clear button is SU with green dp behind it and the thread is from my stash. I always print off the sketches for all the challenges and keep them for reference but unfortunately this sketch didn't print out too well and I didn't notice the three dots on the top and bottom of the blue panel, so I missed them off, hope this is ok!! Thanks for looking.

Lily of the Valley, Sketch Saturday & Cute Card Thursday Challenges

I've managed to combine 3 challenges on this card (it would have been 4 but due to the problems with my internet connection I couldn't upload the card in time for the papertake challenge). The Lily of the Valley challenge this week was "four legged friends", the CCT challenge was "snow & snowflakes" and the sketch saturday is obviously a sketch. I stamped the reindeer image by stamps away and coloured him with my pro-markers. I added stickles to the bottom of the image to mimic snow. The green cs is bazzill and the dp is a freebie from a craft magazine. The snowflake brads are by creative impressions and the sentiment is by papermania. The sketch was lovely to use and I will definitely be pulling this one out again. Thanks for looking.

I'm having trouble with the link to my signature so I'll have to sign off the old fashioned way!!

Lots of love, Denise x

Lily of the Valley challenge 8

This is my card for this week's Lily of the Valley challenge, which was a sketch by Donalda. I was looking through my stash and came across some LOTV die-cuts and backing papers that I must have bought last year and they were ideal for this card. I covered my card blank with the LOTV dp and punched out three scallop circles with my marvy punch. I then ran them through the CB with the snowflakes embossing folder and lightly rubbed over them with a cat's eye chalk ink pad. The plain blue cs is from the papermill shop and the sentiment is cwc. The silver snowflakes are by card candy. Thanks for looking.

Lili of the Valley challenge

I thought I'd have a go at the Lili of the Valley challenge this week which was "christmas card". I stamped the hero arts winter kitty image and coloured him with my pro-markers. The dp is from the DCWV christmas wishes multistack and the red cs is from the papermill shop. The gold cs is from my local craft shop and the snowflake punch is dovecraft. The sentiment is from craftwork cards and the adhesive gems are by papermania. A simple card that I will probably mass produce for my christmas cards this year (as I haven't made hardly enough yet)!! Thanks for looking.

Cute Card Thursday/Lily of the Valley

I made this card for two challenges. The CCT challenge this week was autumn and the Lily of the Valley challenge was 3-2-1 (i.e. 3 papers, 2 ribbons and 1 button or brad). I stamped the cc designs image and rain stamp (which come separately) and coloured the image with my pro-markers. I used dp from the cabana paper pack by inque boutique and bazzill bling cs. The cream ribbon is american crafts and the orange ribbon is from ribbon mad. The button is from my stash and the leaf pin is from ebay. I thought that the colours were quite autumnal and the rain definitely is!! Thanks for looking.

It's wedding season!

Here's another wedding card I was asked to make. I only had 20 mins to make this card so for speed used another Lily of the Valley die cut. The DP is from the wedding stack by DCWV and the sentiment was done on my pc. I added a few papermania adhesive stones ('cos I love them!). Thanks for looking.

Very large card

I was asked by a friend of my mum's to make a large A4 size wedding card. I have made a few large cards for her before and although I find them difficult to do (in so much as it's a large space to fill) she always seems pleased with them. I used 2 large and 2 small Lily of the Valley die-cuts, DP is from an 8x8 wedding stack by DCWV, I used my pc for the sentiment and papermania adhesive stones for a little added bling. I also added stickles to the die-cuts just to lift them. Not my favourite card ever but hey as long as my customer is happy then that's fine by me!! Thanks for looking.

Baby boy card

We've had lots of babies born in work recently, so here is another card I was asked to make. Again I used a Lily of the Valley die cut pram and heart. The sentiment was done on my pc. I used my punches to cut the scallop circle and square and distressed the circle with a chalk inkpad. The DP is by DCWV and from the glitter stack. I added a few Papermania adhesive stones to the die cut and sentiment for added bling! Thanks for looking.

Baby cards

I had to make two baby girl cards for work last night. However I had a stonking headache so I cheated and used Lily of the Valley die cuts instead of stamping! I love using gingham print paper on my baby cards, I think it looks fresh and clean. I did the wording on my pc and used papermania adhesive stones (a girl has to have a little bling!). I used ribbon from my stash and pink card from The Paper Mill Shop. Thanks for looking.
