Multi challenge card - and a first!

easel card

Well I’m way behind everyone else but I have finally made an easel-style card *hooray*.  It was my niece’s 16th birthday yesterday and this is the card I made for my boys to give to their cousin.  I’m really pleased with the way it turned out – I may even make one again soon (once everyone else has moved onto the “next” thing I’m sure haha).  The digi-image is from TGF and is called ‘rock chick’ (it was a limited edition image and is no longer available to buy).  I coloured the image with my promarkers and cut her out and popped her up with 3d foam, although you can’t really tell in my photos (David Bailey I’m not!).  The gorgeous papers are DCWV from ‘the stack’ and the plain card is from the papermill shop.  I created the sentiment on the pc and cut it out with my SU oval punches.  The charm is from my stash as is the ribbon it’s hanging on.  The ‘16’ is from craftwork cards and again I used my SU oval punches to cut the card behind it.  The ribbon is from my stash and the adhesive stones are PM.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Anyone for Anya?  - make it fake (I faux stitched around the image and sentiments)

Creative card crew #38 – favourite things (my promarkers and DCWV papers)

Cute card Thursday #87 – teen terrors (my niece was 16 and the image is very apt I think!)

Totally gorjuss #6 – nearly all gorjuss (I’m not going mad – you can enter any girly type images this week)

I hope you’re all having a good week and the weather hasn’t been too unkind to you today.  My thoughts are with all of you suffering due to the heavy rain and high winds, my heart goes out to you.  Sending you lots of love and hugs,

Creative card crew #35/Digital Tuesday #31

b'day card (5)

Hello and welcome to Wednesday, I can’t believe how quickly this week is going (not that I’m complaining though lol).  My card today fits the challenges over at creative card crew, whose theme is ‘ribbons and gems’ and digital tuesday challenge, whose theme is ‘flowers’.  The digi image was a freebie from fred she said and I coloured it with my promarkers, adding highlights with a white gel pen.  The papers are DCWV from ‘the stack’ and the plain cs is from the papermill shop.  The flowers were cut out with my ek success retro flower punches and the adhesive stones are PM.  The sentiment was created on the pc and cut out with my SU oval punches and the ribbon is also SU.  Some of my regular visitors may think this card is familiar but it is a variation on this card that I made a little while ago.

Don’t forget to check out our new challenge starting tomorrow over at susie’s sassy challenge – there is an amazing prize up for grabs for our very first challenge….you definitely don’t want to miss it!!  I will be back tomorrow with my first DT card – how exciting :)  Thanks for stopping by today.

** THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY -

christmas card

This is my late entry for the DT call over at sassy designs. Susie is looking for one designer to join her team for her new monthly challenge which is starting soon called “Susie’s sassy challenge”. The DT call ends tonight at midnight, so if you’re interested you need to make a christmas card and get it posted to your blog asap :) This card also fits the bill over at the creative card crew challenge this week whose theme is ‘snowflakes’. I used my sugar nellie image called ‘manga fairy’ (available from funky kits) and coloured her with promarkers and I added stickles to her wings and wand. The papers are DCWV from the rose tinted christmas paper pad and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The snowflakes are cut with my dovecraft punch and the adhesive pearls are kanban. The sentiment is craftwork cards and I cut it out with my SU oval punches. The strip of cs in the centre of the card was cut with my MS zigzag embossed border punch. I hope you are all having a fab day and enjoying the gorgeous weather we’re having at the moment :)

Feeling sorry for myself…..!

I am feeling sorry for myself at the moment as I’m full up with a cold.  My wonderful husband has been looking after me and I haven’t had to do anything for the last 2 days….he is so good to me.  My DS1 is also ill today so we’ve been keeping each other company and comparing ailments lol!

Anyway I do have a card to show you tonight and it fits in with 4 challenges woohoo!  The dutch dare challenge this week is ‘a recipe’, sketch saturday is a brilliant sketch (although I did rotate it), creative card crew is ‘scallops’ and a new challenge that I’ve just discovered is kraftin’ kimmie stamps challenge and their first challenge is ‘birthday’.  I used a gorjuss girl image sent to me by Gina and coloured it with my promarkers.  I added highlights with a white gel pen and cut it out with my rectangle nesties.  The papers are all BG and the plain cs is from the papermill shop.  The ribbon is making memories and the sentiment was created on the pc.  The flowers are cut with my ek success (med & small) retro flower punches.  The adhesive stones are PM and the cute little buttons are from my stash.  I hope you are all well out there is blog-land.  Thanks for stopping by today.

A card for 6 challenges!

b'day card (6)

Sorry I’ve been MIA but it’s been a busy few days in work and I’ve been pooped when I’ve gotten home.  I’ll be catching up with everyone’s blogs over the weekend – I promise!   This is my card for 6 challenges this week – the pile it on challenge #18 is ‘3 dimensional’, the Friday sketcher’s challenge #72 is obviously the sketch I followed, the pollycraft challenge #25 is ‘5 “S” words’ (and I chose stripes and sparkle), the creative card crew challenge #31 is ‘it’s a celebration’, the secret crafter challenge is also ‘celebration’ and the anyone for anya? challenge is ‘you’re anya’.  I chose birthday anya as I have a very sweet tooth (that’s why I’m so cuddly) and could eat her cake at any time of the day or night lol :0).  For the pile it on challenge I interpreted the theme by stamping the cake twice and raising the second layer up with a foam pad (decoupage style), also my flowers and image are raised up on foam pads too.  I coloured birthday anya with my promarkers and used my rectangle nesties to cut it out.  The papers are all gorgeous BG from the sugared paper pad and the flowers were cut out with my ek success medium and small retro flowers.  The sentiment is SU from the circle of friendship set and was cut out with the SU 1” circle punch.  The ribbon is from my stash and the adhesive stones are PM.  Thanks for stopping by today.

A card for 4 challenges!

b'day card (8)

b'day card (8) close up

Hello, I promised I’d be back with a card….and I’m never one to break a promise (well not very often lol).  My card fits with 4 challenges this week – the stamp with fun challenge is a lovely sketch, the secret crafter challenge is ‘celebration’, the creative card crew challenge is ‘all that sparkles’ and the pile it on challenge is ‘let them eat cake’.  For my card I used a stamping bella image called cuppacakeabella and coloured her with promarkers adding stickles to the frosting of the cake (very shimmery IRL).  The papers are all DCWV from ‘the stack’.  The flowers were cut out of the paper with my ek success medium and small retro flower punches and the ribbon is american crafts.  The sentiment was created on the pc and cut out with my woodware circle punch.  This image is so popular with my friends and family and I keep having requests for it on a regular basis, so it was well worth the money!!  I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.  I’ll hopefully be back tomorrow with another card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Creative card crew challenge #21

b'day card (23)

I made this card for Sue, one of my fellow DT members over at passion for promarkers, but unfortunately I sent it rather late for her birthday (only a month lol!) and then forgot to put a sentiment on it – d’oh!!  I used an image by High Hopes called ‘Tidy up Tillie’ (available from Dies to Die For) and coloured it with my promarkers.  The striped paper is a freebie from a magazine and the plain pink cs is from the papermill shop.  The blue cs is bazzill bling and again is available at Dies to Die For.  I used my swiss dots embossing folder in the CB to add a bit of texture to the cs.  The flower heads are from Joanna Sheen, the larger blue flowers are imaginisce and the other flowers are from my stash.  I thought I’d enter this card for this week’s creative card crew challenge which is ‘girls just wanna have fun’ – well some girls like cleaning (not me mind you I think I’m allergic haha!).  Thanks for stopping by today.

Papertake challenge/Creative Card Crew #20

christening card

The papertake challenge this week is a ‘take your pick colour combi’ and we can take our pick from the following colours - pink, black, white, yellow, green, grey and lilac.  The challenge explained that we can use as many or as few colours as we like with skin/hair colours as extra colours.  The creative card crew challenge asked for ‘polka dots’.  My colour combo is pink and white and I made this card for a lady as work who was going to a christening.  I stamped the forever friends image and coloured it with my promarkers.  The papers, flowers and ribbon are from my stash.  The sentiment was created on the pc and the adhesive stones are PM.  The gorgeous teddy charm was a RAK.  I cut the decorative edge on the dotty paper with a pair of fiskars scallop scissors.  Well the weather here is the complete opposite of yesterday’s – torrential rain – yuk!.  Hope you are having a good day whatever you’re up to.  Thanks for stopping by.

6 challenges in one!

cards2 002

b'day card (24) close up

I was on a roll with this card and I managed to fit in 6 challenges (a first for me woohoo!). The challenges are:

Pile it On – 3 different embellishments

Stamp with us – card for a child

Secret Crafter – 3 ribbons

Creative Card Crew – ribbons

Pollycraft – to the point - arrows (incidentally they have now changed their rules so if you don't have a pollycraft image you can still enter their challenges!

One Stop Craft Challenge – stars and stripes

I used a digi image called ‘skateboard Josh’ from DigiStamp Boutique and coloured it with my promarkers. The striped paper, ribbons, sentiment and ovals behind it are all SU. The plain cs and buttons are from my stash and I used my CB embossing folders on the cs (swiss dots on the blue and diamond plate on the red). The decorative edge was cut with my fiskars border punch and the arrows were cut out of the paper. The two small stars are adhesive stones by PM. I’m really happy with this card and was worried it would look too overloaded but I think it’s ok, let me know what you think. Thanks for stopping by today.
