Cupcake craft challenge #157–DT project

** THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY **

Please scroll down to see my Stamp with Fun DT card

Hello again dear friends.  I’m back to share with you my DT project for this week’s cupcake craft challenge.  This week I have the honour of choosing the theme and I decided to go for something completely out of my comfort zone and so my theme is “alter it”.  I want you to take something plain and boring and turn it into something beautiful lol!

I found a plain 6x6 piece of chipboard that came in the back of a paper pad and decided to make something out of that.  Here is the finished project – a stylish shopping list that you can put on your fridge:

CCC challenge 157 - alter it!

CCC challenge 157 - alter it! (close up)

CCC challenge 157 - alter it! (before)

I used a very apt image from whiff of joy stamps called ‘shopping Willow’ and I coloured her with promarkers.  I cut her out and added 3d foam to raise her from the paper.  The papers are echo park from the ‘springtime’ paper pad and the flowers from wild orchid crafts.  I also altered the plain notepad and pencil by covering them with patterned paper and the pink seam binding was actually white but I altered it with an ink pad.  So that it will go onto the fridge I added some sticky metallic to the back of the chipboard piece (the same stuff that you can use to store your nesties safely in place).

Our sponsor this week is pink gem designs and they are offering one lucky winner 4 digi images from their online store.

PinkGemDesignsBlogBannerNEW

Don’t forget we also have our ‘icing on the cupcake’ sponsors, and for August we have 3 as it is our birthday month.  Firstly we have Crafts U Love who are offering a £15.00 voucher to spend in their online store, secondly we have Mo’s Digital Pencil who are offering a $10.00 gift code to use in their online store and thirdly we have Sew Sweet who are offering a £10.00 gift voucher to spend in their online store.  So definitely lots of yummy reasons to play along this month.

The rest of the design team have created gorgeous projects as usual, so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.  We really appreciate all the lovely comments you leave for us.

I would like to enter my project into the following challenges:

Hello fellow crafters, It’s Tuesday, so that only means one thing – a new passion for promarkers challenge.  This week’s theme has been chosen by Michele and she would like to see some “distressing” on your cards.  But don’t forget to use your promarkers to be eligible for our prize draw.

My mother asked me to make a wedding card for her nephew (my cousin) so I thought I’d combine the two.  I hope she likes it as it’s the first time I’ve made a “distressed” wedding card!  Here is my card:

SWF sketch #54

and this is my take on it:

SWF #54 - sketch

SWF #54 - sketch (close up)

It is a really gorgeous sketch to use and I love all the different layers on it.  I have to admit though that I didn’t notice the pink dot on the sketch (I know it’s massive but there you go) so I haven’t put anything in that spot – oh well!!!  If you get a chance please pop over and take a look at the rest of the DT cards, as they are beautiful as usual.  I’m sure they would appreciate a nice comment too :)

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

PFP challenge #42 - bright green & mango

PFP challenge #42 - bright green & mango (close up)

Hello – it’s Tuesday, so it must mean a new challenge over at passion for promarkers challenge.  Our theme this week has been chosen by Sarah W (GDT) and she would like us to use the colour combo of ‘mango and bright green’.  For my card I used a super cute digi image from CC designs called ‘Heidi among the flowers’ and coloured her with the following promarkers:

Dress – bright green and mango

Boots and hair bobbles – bright green

Wings - almond

Flowers – mango and added stickles to the centres

Hair – tan, caramel and cinnamon

Skin – ivory, blush and pastel pink

Grass – meadow green

Shading – ice grey 1

The papers are all MME from the bloom and grow paper pad and the plain card is from the papermill shop.  The ribbon was a RAK from Michelle and I added mini buttons and put adhesive gems on top for a different look (although not something I will do again lol!)  I inked all the edges with a colorbox cat’s eye chalk inkpad in tangerine.

Our sponsor this week is Joanna Sheen and the lucky winner will receive a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store.

Stamp with fun #39 – DT card

SWF #39 - Happy New Year

SWF #39 - Happy New Year (close up)

Hello everyone, I hope you’ve all recovered from the festivities and were all lucky enough to get lots of crafting goodies from Santa!  I can’t believe the big day has come and gone so quickly :(  We managed to get to my sister’s house for Christmas dinner and boy was it worth the effort – we had a three course meal and it was absolutely gorgeous.  It was just so lovely to spend some quality time with my sister and her family and my parents, I haven’t laughed so much for ages :)  I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone that sent me handmade Christmas cards, I can’t believe how many I received and I’m so touched by your kindness.

Onto my card which is for the Stamp with Fun challenge and the theme this week is ‘Happy New Year’; a nice, simple one for you this week!  For my card I used a stamping bella image called ‘winobella’ and coloured her with my promarkers, adding stickles to the glasses, her shoes, necklace and hair band.  The papers and card are all SU and the ribbon is from my stash.  I inked the edges of the papers with a colorbox cat’s eye chalk inkpad in olive pastel and cut the decorative edge with a fiskars border punch.  The swirls were cut with my ek success swirl punch and the adhesive stones are PM.  The sentiment was created on the pc.

The prize up for grabs this week has been donated by tina46 (who is part of the DT) and this is what one lucky winner will receive:

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT cards, as they are all beautiful.  I can’t wait to see what you create and look forward to visiting your blogs.

Cupcake craft challenge #69 – DT card

CCC challenge 69 - christmas song

CCC challenge 69 - christmas song (close up)

Hello and welcome to a new challenge over at cupcake craft challenge.  Our theme this week is ‘sing a christmas song’ and I decided to go with ‘santa claus is coming to town’.  I used a digi-image from DigiStamp Boutique called ‘jolly santa’ and coloured him with my promarkers (don’t forget you can still get 20% off all Christmas images over at DSB).  The paper is doodlebug and the red card is from the papermill shop.  I used my swiss dots embossing folder on the piece of red card behind the image.  The image is cut out with my circle nesties and the sentiment was created on the pc and cut into small pieces.  The edges were then inked with an ice jade colorbox cats eye inkpad.  The ribbon is dovecraft and the button is from my stash.  The swirls (ek success) were a freebie from Tracey at Dies to Die For and the adhesive stones are PM.

Our sponsor this week is simon says stamp and the lucky winner will receive a $20.00 voucher to spend in their online store plus free shipping!!  Please check out the rest of the DT cards, as they are all gorgeous again this week.

My card also fits in with the following challenge:

Digital Tuesday challenge – Christmas sparkle

Paper cutz challenge – digi or hand stamped Christmas image

Stamp something – glitzy somethings

Crafty calendar challenge – winter sparkle

All that scraps Wednesday challenge – Christmas

Sorry I haven’t been around for a few days but I’ve been having problems with my computer – hopefully it’s sorted now so normal service can resume!

The new challenge over at stamp with fun this week is a gorgeous sketch by Tina. For my card I used a digi-image by DigiStamp Boutique called ‘Christmas robin’ and coloured it with my promarkers. The stunning papers are all daisy bucket and the white card is from my stash and I inked all the edges with a colorbox cats eye inkpad in rouge. The snowflakes (actually called spangle flourish by ek success) were a pressie from Tracey at Dies to Die For and I smothered the pink one in stickles for extra bling! The sentiment is craftwork cards and I used my SU oval punches to cut the paper behind it. The adhesive stones are PM.

Our sponsor this week is cute stamps and cards and one lucky winner will receive this gorgeous stamp:

stempel

Well have we got a challenge for you at passion for promarkers starting today! It’s not just any old challenge - this challenge will last until 5th January 2010. We don’t mind what colour promarkers you use but we want to see “anything but a card - with a Christmas theme”. As this is such a special challenge our sponsors have come up trumps and we have some extra special prizes up for grabs.

ProMarkerInfo3

Firstly our grand prize has been generously donated by Letraset – they have given us a whole set of promarkers, which includes the old and new colours – that’s 148 pens!! Plus they have also given us 2 x 5 promarker theme packs.

Joanna Sheen has kindly donated a £10.00 voucher for her online store.

Funky kits has kindly donated 8 prizes of Sugar Nellie stamps:
4 x Maggie & Hamish stamps PLUS 4 x Home Grown stamps.

Stampeezee has kindly donated a £10.00 voucher to spend in their online store.

Whiff of Joy has kindly donated a ‘Fred Celebrating Elephant’ stamp designed by Alison Acton.

We have a gorgeous stamp set called “a little bit of happiness” and roll of red gingham ribbon kindly donated by Julie, who is an independent stamping up demonstrator.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

For my project I used a basic bingo board and made it into a to-do notice board. I used a gorgeous stamp by PB called ‘xmas kiss’ and coloured it with the following promarkers:

Hedgie – ice grey 3 & 5, ivory, blush and pastel pink

Holly & mistletoe – meadow green, apple green and red

Birdie – tan, caramel, and red

The gingham paper is from my stash (but sadly has no name on it) and the gorgeous patterned paper is daisy bucket called wrapped wishes – snowflake waltz (this is double sided 12x12 paper and I used the distressed design on the reverse). The small snowflakes were cut with my dovecraft punch and the large snowflakes have been cut with my MS arctic punch. The adhesive stones are PM and the beautiful ribbon is dovecraft from the 99p range! The ‘to-do’ stickers are K&Co and are really glittery IRL. I used my circle nesties to cut out my image and my MS doily lace punch for the paper covering the notepad (I didn’t have a lined notepad to hand so had to use this cash-book type book as it was all I could find at short notice!) I inked the edge of the paper with a colorbox cats eye chalk ink pad in rouge. You must check out the rest of the DT projects as they are all stunning! We hope you will enjoy our extended challenge and you can enter as many times as you like, as long as your projects are all “anything but a card - with a Christmas theme”. The DT will also be providing you with more inspiration on the 15th December so don't forget to check back again then. I can’t wait to see what you create and look forward to visiting your blogs.

Thanks for stopping by today and good luck!!
