Krafty Chicks challenge #742 - Christmas

Good morning lovely friends.  I hope you're all doing ok and having a great week so far.  It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge.  This week is Week 2 and as always the theme is 'Christmas' and I am your hostess.  We want to see all your festive creations this week, and as the big day is not that far away now I'm sure we will have lots of entries.  We hope you will come over and join in the fun with us.
I wanted to make a pink Christmas card this week, as I haven't made one yet, and I think they look so pretty.  I went fairly clean and simple once again and my card took no time at all to complete.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
A close up of the cute die cuts:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4"; I took a pink ink pad and smooshed some ink onto the top centre portion of the panel.  I also added some pink ink splatter and white gouache splatter for some extra interest.  I had some die cuts ready cut and left over from last year so decided to grab them and use them up.  I chose 2 houses, 1 tree and a cute tiny snowman.  I added 3 layers to each and adhered them together with liquid glue.  Using a t-square ruler I placed them onto the panel with liquid glue.  I stamped a sentiment in the same pink ink and die cut it out with a sentiment strip die.  I added this with foam squares below the houses.  I finished off with a few pink pearls.  The panel was added to a pink card base (for a change) with foam tape.  For the inside I cut another white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and ink smooshed along the bottom of the panel.  I added one house and a snowman in the left bottom corner and stamped a sentiment in black ink.  The panel was added to the card base with double sided tape.  A really simple card but the pink colour along with the white die cuts really packs a punch I think.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

The 12 months of Christmas challenge - anything Christmas goes optional all stitched up
Addicted to Stamps & More challenge - make your mark (ink smooshed my background)

Krafty Chicks challenge #715 - Christmas

Good morning lovely friends; I hope you're having a brilliant week so far.  Well the weather here has
been glorious this week so I've nothing to complain about lol!  I even have an (almost) empty washing basket - which makes me very happy!

It's the start of a brand new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week is Week 2 and as always I am the hostess.  For this week's challenge it's all about Christmas so grab your festive supplies and beat the rush in December.
I decided to dig out an old wood rubber stamp and show it some love.  I have a drawer full and they are so lovely that I feel bad neglecting them.  I must start making an effort to use them in the coming weeks.
Here is my card:
A close up of the image:
I decorated the inside (not sure why the gold edge looks so wonky, it doesn't look like that in real life):
I began by stamping the image onto alcohol marker friendly card using memento ink and used my Promarkers to colour it.  I have also rediscovered my 'puffy stuff' so added that to the bottom of the image to mimic snow.  It's pretty cool stuff, it goes on like a thick paint but when you heat it with your heat tool it puffs up and hardens.  I die cut the image with a circle die and used the larger size to make a frame with gold mirror card.  I also die cut a topper die so that it would look like a bauble which was adhered to the circles with liquid glue. I stamped a simple sentiment in black ink onto the white circle.  I used some old 6x6 papers to create my background and added some thin strips of the gold card to cover the joins.  I added foam tape behind the patterned paper and added it to my card base.  The bauble was then also adhered with foam tape (I also added a thin sliver of foam tape behind the topper 'string').  I didn't add any extra bling as there was lots of shine from the mirror card.  For the inside I added a thick strip of the green paper, a small strip of the red paper and a thin strip of the gold card at the bottom of my panel.  I then stamped a sentiment in the centre with black ink.  This panel was adhered to the card base with double sided tape.  A fairly simple card but I think it looks really cute.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

As You Like It challenge - soft or bold colours (I prefer bold colours especially when colouring an image as I'm a bit too heavy handed to use soft colours!)
Crafty Animals challenge - ATG must include an animal
Critter Crazy challenge - ATG with a featured critter
Cut It Up challenge - add a sentiment
Incy Wincy Designs challenge - spring and/or animals
Inkspirational challenge - seasonal (winter)
Merry Little Christmas challenge - anything Christmas goes
Peace on Earth challenge - anything Christmas themed
Penny Black Saturday challenge - ATG option pastel colours
PINspirational challenge - designer or patterned paper

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'Christmas' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky.  Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - LeanneDiane and Lori and also our guest designer Rachelle, who is joining us again this month.

Enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping by.

Winter Wonderland IG Hop - Week 5

Hello friends and happy hump day.  I hope you've had a great day so far.  It's Wednesday so it's time for this week's instalment of the Winter Wonderland IG Hop organised by my lovely friend Kelly.  This is technically the last week of the hop but don't worry as we have an extra bonus week for you next week!  Each Wednesday we are sharing our creations with a winter theme.
This week is Week 5 and our theme is plaid poinsettia.  Now the brief was you can make something that includes a poinsettia or include some plaid or both.  I decided to use both.  Here is my card:
A close up of my poinsettia:
I decorated the inside as usual:
here is what the paper looked before and after inking:
I began by trying to find some plaid patterned paper, which was not easy.  I eventually found one but it was a beige/neutral colour.  I decided to ink swipe onto the paper with a red ink pad to make it the colour I wanted.  I think it turned out really good and just what I was looking for.  I then die cut my poinsettia; one large layer and 2 smaller layers, plus a few leaves from dark green card and the centre from gold mirri card; I then added gold pearls onto the centre.  I used foam squares to attach all the layers so it ended up being very dimensional.  I cut a piece of white card to a 3 3/4" x 5" panel and added a strip of red spotted paper and a smaller strip of the gold mirri card to the left hand side.  I adhered the leaves with liquid glue and stamped my sentiment in black ink.  I then added the poinsettia with liquid glue over the leaves.  For a final touch I added some gold splatter over the entire card panel.  The panel was then attached to my A2 card base with double sided tape.  For the inside I added another strip of spotty paper and gold mirri card and as I had one poinsettia left over I cut it up and layered it into the bottom left corner.  I stamped a sentiment in black ink.  A really dimensional and shimmery card in real life and I'm really happy with it.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Gals Corner challenge - dots and/or stripes
Double D challenge - stripes and/or dots
Inkspirational challenge - seasonal (obviously I've gone for Christmas again)
Time Out challenge - winter/holiday
Try It On challenge - traditional Christmas
Use Your Stuff challenge - shine bright (mirri card, gold pearls, gold splatter)

We hope you will be able to join us over on Instagram and follow the hop.  Please use the hashtag #winterwonderlandcardhop2023 to find all of our creations and we will be able to find yours if you feel inspired to join in.

Enjoy the rest of your day and thank you so much for stopping by.

Love and hugs,

Pink/blue & white card

Hello lovely friends; I hope you've had a great start to your week.  I hope you've managed to miss most of the really bad weather we've had recently.  It's been really wet and windy here but no damage thankfully; I really feel for the poor people in Jersey whose homes have been destroyed.  Nature is definitely a force to be reckoned with on times.

On to happier things; I'm here to share a card I made recently for a crafty friend.  I saw the colour challenge over on the Less is More challenge so based my card on that.  Here is my card:
here is a close up of the sweet image:
I also decorated the inside:
plus I decorated the envelope (ignore the crease!):
I began by stamping by image and colouring with Promarkers and then fussy cut it out.  I put the image to one side and began decorating my panel.  I used a stencil with light blue ink, darker in the centre and fading out to white.  I stamped the sentiment on a thin strip of white card in pink ink (although it looks a little red in the photos) and placed this directly onto my panel with liquid glue.  The image was added over the sentiment with foam squares.  The panel was then added to the card base with liquid glue.  Very clean and simple for me and I had to control myself from adding anything else lol!  For the inside of my card I lightly ink blended the same blue ink around the whole of the panel and then use the same daisy stencil at the very bottom for some interest.  For the envelope I used the stencil on the bottom and on the lower part of the flap on the back.  I remember seeing in a Kristina Werner video to use distress micro glaze over your decorated envelopes to protect it from moisture so I tried it in view of the bad weather we'd been experiencing.  I did manage to crease the flap with my overly energetic rubbing but it was ok once the card was inside.  I wouldn't normally use pink and blue together but I think it turned out quite sweet.  Let me know what you think.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Less is More challenge - colour challenge - blue, pink & white
Addicted to Stamps & More challenge - make your mark (I used Promarkers)
Crafty Catz challenge - ATG with option of show some flowers
Mix it Up challenge - ATG with optional stamping (I used a red rubber stamp)
Triple B challenge - include birds, blooms or butterflies
NBUS challenge - never used this stamp or stencil before

I hope you have a wonderful week.  Thanks for stopping by.  I'll be back on Wednesday for Week 2 of the Winter Wonderland IG Hop so see you soon.

Love and hugs,

New grandson

Happy Monday everyone.  Today I have a super cute baby card to share with you.  One of my lovely crafty friends recently welcomed her first baby grandson and this is the card I made for her.

I used an adorable stamp set called 'sweet baby' from Uniko Stamps and I used my Promarkers to add a dotty pattern to the babygro.  The sentiment is predominantly Clearly Besotted Stamps 'special delivery' (but again sadly it appears to no longer be available but they do have an updated version which is currently on sale here) and the grandson word is from Personal Impressions 'large family birthday' stamp set.  I used an oldie but a goodie embossing folder 'swiss dots' by Cuttlebug for my bottom layer and cut a circle from my white cardstock panel using a spellbinders circle die for my top layer.  I added a few sequins from Little Things from Lucy's Cards to finish off.  A very simple card but really pretty I think.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

sweet stampin' challenge - got the blues
unicorn challenge - masculine
crafty friends challenge - men and/or boys
sweet stampers challenge - something begins with B (blue, baby)
Try it on Tuesday challenge - make it masculine

I hope your Monday was good.  The weather is supposed to be scorchio this week so take care and add sunscreen if you're out and about 🌞

Until next time, hugs and love x

Charisma cardz/SWF challenge – DT card

Good morning dear friends.  I hope you are all surviving the dreadful weather we’re having at the moment.  I hate the rain at the best of times but it’s starting to get on my nerves already lol!  I know that lots of other parts of the country really need rain, but it is definitely one thing we don’t need in the South Wales valleys haha!

Over at charisma cardz challenge it’s time for a brand new challenge and for Team Gemma to share their creations.  The theme has been chosen by the lovely Natalie and she would like to see your “blue, black and white” creations.  I also used the gorgeous sketch from this week’s stamp with fun challenge (I am extremely late with my card – sorry!).   Here is my card:

charisma cardz #16 - blue, black & white

charisma cardz #16 - blue, black & white (close up)

and here is the sketch:

swf 158 sketch

I have used an image from Some Odd Girl called ‘geeky Mae’ and coloured her with promarkers and flex markers.  The papers are from the docrafts forever friends ‘new arrival’ designstax and the black card is from eBay.  The papers are a really soft pastel blue IRL but for some reason they are showing up as a blue-ish grey in the photos!  I embossed the white card with an embossing folder and added some black gems but otherwise kept the layout really simple.

We have three sponsors this week, firstly we have DigiStamp Boutique who are offering one lucky winner 6 digi images of their choice.  Our second sponsor is Crafty Emma’s store and one lucky winner will receive a £10.00 voucher to spend in her online store and our third sponsor is the stamping boutique who are offering 5 digis of the winner’s choice.  Certainly lots of fab reasons to join in the fun this week.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Stampin’ sisters in Christ challenge – soft pastels

Stamptacular challenge – loaded with layers

Creative card crew challenge – use ribbon

Digital Tuesday challenge – winter blues (I used blue papers/promarkers)

Flourishes timeless Tuesday challenge – BINGO (blue, ribbon and bling)

Scrap creations challenge – it’s a girl thing

Simon says stamp challenge – anything goes

Really reasonable ribbon challenge – black, white + 1 accent colour (+ ribbon)

Bunny Zoe’s challenge – ribbon or twine

The crazy challenge – feminine/girly

I hope you can join in with both challenges and I cannot wait to see what you create.  I would like to welcome my newest follower Sharon (aka shazronnie – fab name by the way!) *waves hello* – thanks for joining my happy band of followers and I hope you will visit me often.  I hope you have a wonderful Thursday and don;t get caught in too many rain showers!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Charisma cardz challenge–DT card

Good morning dear friends.  I cannot believe it’s Thursday already, the week is flying by, although I’m not complaining!!  Work is super busy at the moment and the day just whizzes by, which is fantastic, although I do think I’m wishing my life away lol!

It’s time for a brand new challenge over at charisma cardz challenge and it’s Team Gem’s week to share their cards.  The lovely Joyce has set the theme this week and she has chosen “fancy folds”.  Now as I was a bit tight for time I played it safe and made an easel card although I do find them extremely difficult to photograph and I forgot to take a ‘side-on’ view!  Here is my card:

I have used a super gorgeous new image from DigiStamp Boutique called ‘Hoop Rosie’ from the April offer of the month set called ‘funtime Rosie’ which is available for a special price until the end of the month.  There are 3 images in the set and all are equally as cute as this one.  I coloured the image with promarkers and had a go at doing a cloud background with chalks.  I will try using my promarkers in the future but it was really quick using the chalks (and my finger tip!).  I have to say I am really chuffed with the clouds as it was only my second time of doing it.  The pretty pastel papers are my mind’s eye from the “dwell” 6x6 paper pad.

We have two sponsors this week.  Firstly we have Some Odd Girl who are offering one lucky winner 3 digi images of their choice.

Our second sponsor is Digi Doodle Shop and 2 winners will receive a $5.00 voucher to spend in their online store.

Our sponsor this week is crafts and me and one lucky winner will receive 3 digi images of their choice.
