Stamp with fun #142–DT card

Good morning dear friends.  I hope you’ve had a good weekend and if you’ve been unlucky enough to see some of the “white stuff” I hope that it hasn’t caused you too many problems.  It hasn’t been too bad here, we had some snowfall on Wednesday but thankfully it didn’t stick, although I did have a scary moment driving home from work when I completely lost control on the slippery surface – thankfully there were no cars near me at the time and I came out unscathed.  I was definitely a bit shaken up though and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we don’t have any more!!

I’m here this morning with my DT card for this week’s stamp with fun challenge and this will be our last challenge until 9th January 2012 so that the DT can have a nice break with their families.  We have a brilliant sketch by Andrea-Emmi41 to work with and here is my card:

and here is the sketch:

I have used a super image from DigiStamp Boutique called ‘Louie & teddy’ and coloured it with promarkers and flex markers.  The papers are all from my scraps box and the sentiment is by verve stamps from the clear stamp set called ‘family phrases’.  I created the birth details on my pc and added some baker’s twine and pearls as finishing touches.

The rest of the design team have created amazing samples so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Delightful challenge – anything goes

Dutch dare challenge – tic-tac-toe (pearls, distressing, embossing)

Cupcake craft challenge #102 – DT card

Hello again, I’m back to share with you my card for this week’s cupcake craft challenge.  Firstly I would like to say a big welcome to Faye as this is her first official week in charge of us at cupcake and also a big thank you to Donna for working so hard to make the challenge blog such a success.  This week’s theme has been chosen by the super talented Kathrin and she would like to see some distressing on your creations.  Now you know it’s not my most favourite thing to do but I seem to have done it quite a lot recently!  Anyway here is my card, which was an order for a friend in work:

CCC challenge 102 - distressing

I attempted to make my own roses, after seeing a few tutorials around blogland and I’m quite pleased with my first go at it.  I will definitely be trying these again.  I distressed all the edges of my card and paper with a small pair of scissors.

We are sponsored this week by Simon Says Stamp and one lucky winner will receive a $20.00 gift voucher plus free shipping – I’m very jealous lol!

Also starting this week we have a monthly sponsor for August – Crafts U Love - and if you enter two challenges or more throughout the month your name will go into the draw to win 3 CC Designs Stamps – how cool is that!  Check out the challenge blog for more details!

Cupcake craft challenge #72 - DT card

CCC challenge 72 - baby card

CCC challenge 72 - baby card (close up)

The theme over at cupcake craft challenge this week has been chosen by yours truly and it is ‘make a baby card’. I love making baby cards so jumped at the chance to have this as our theme. I haven’t made a baby girl card for ages, seems to have been all boys last year so opted for a girly one this time. I used a gorgeous image by elzybells and coloured it with my promarkers, adding stickles to the heart and stars. The pretty paper is DCVW from ‘the stack’ and the plain card is from the papermill shop. I used my CB to emboss the white panel with my new daisy pattern embossing folder and lightly rubbed over the panel with a chalk inkpad to highlight the embossed daisies. I cut out the image with my circle nesties. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves were cut with my MS frond punch. I added stickles to the flowers, leaves and embossed panel. The sentiment is by verve and I added stickles as a border around it. The gorgeous tulle ribbon is from tabby crafts.

My fellow DT members have excelled themselves this week and have created some gorgeous samples so if you have a chance please check them out.

The lucky winner will receive a $20.00 gift voucher and free shipping courtesy of Simon Says Stamp so definitely an incentive to join in the fun.

Sunday sketch & stamp #3/ASFOS #53/charisma cardz #21

This card was made for one our the doctors at my hospital who has just had her second baby girl awww. I managed to combine three challenges into this card, which I haven't done for a while lol! Firstly the sketch is this week's Sunday sketch & stamp challenge, ASFOS this week is looking for lace and the charisma cardz challenge this week is 'going dotty' (which includes circles). Anyway onto the card..... I stamped the elzybells image and coloured it with my promarkers, adding stickles to the star. The sentiment is from a set by verve called family phrases. The dp is all by making memories (again from the candy I received from Sally-Ann) and the velvet ribbon is from my stash. The decorative lace edging was cut with my fiskars border punch and the flowers and charm (which I know is not that clear but says princess) are from my stash. The adhesive stones are PM. I love baby cards, especially baby girl cards, although I don't seem to make that many. Thanks for stopping by.

FF challenge/Sketch Saturday #35/ASFOS #35

I've again combined three challenges with this card. The forever friends challenge is 'ribbon', A spoonful of sugar challenge is 'oh baby' and the sketch saturday is obviously a sketch. I used my forever friends stamp and coloured it in with my pro-markers. I attempted to hand draw a brick wall behind the bear but not too sure if I pulled it off! The dp is from a paper pack but I can't remember where I got it as I only had a couple of pieces left. The beige and navy cs is bazzill bling and I used my fiskars threading water paper punch on the beige cs. The ribbon is by american crafts and the buttons are doodlebug. The sentiment is by verve. Thanks for looking.
