Penny Black Saturday challenge - midway reminder card

Hello friends; it's another busy day on my blog today as I have two cards to share with you. The first is my second card as guest designer for the Penny Black Saturday challenge. They have a midway reminder post and I was delighted to join in again.  The challenge is 'ATG' but has an optional twist of 'bright colours'.
...or Hedgie
For today's card I once again did not use a hedgie stamp but instead chose a very old girl stamp called 'sweet thing'.  I can't actually recall using this stamp but if I did it was a VERY long time ago.  I went with some pretty, girly papers and I think it turned out adorable.  I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by stamping the image onto a scrap of alcohol marker friendly card and coloured it with my Promarkers.  I added some white highlights and fussy cut it out.  I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and used left over pieces of patterned paper to create a fun layout.  I added the paper onto the white panel with liquid glue.  I die cut a stitched square from white card and added the image onto this with foam squares.  At this point I decided to cut out my background panel with a stitched rectangle so that it would match the image panel.  I added some scrap white card behind the square image panel and adhered it to my background with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in black onto white card and used a stitched label die to cut it out.  I added this at the top of the panel with foam squares.  I die cut one flower from white card and added it in the top right of the square panel with liquid glue.  I finished off with some yellow pearls.  The panel was adhered to my card base using double sided tape.   For the inside I die cut another white panel with the stitched rectangle.  I used some of the left pieces of patterned paper and also cut them out using the stitched rectangle so that they would match the stitching.  I adhered the papers to the bottom of the panel with liquid glue and stamped my sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I also added one more flower over the patterned paper with liquid glue.  I adhered the panel to my card base using double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create challenge - ATG optional twist think pink
Creative Friday challenge - faux stitching

Just Us Girls challenge #845 - Mood Board week

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I am back to share my card for this week's Just Us Girls challenge and it's Mood Board Week and Carol Mayne has a beautiful photo to inspire us this week. There are so many gorgeous details to choose from and I'm sure this is going to be a really popular week. I cannot wait to see all your gorgeous creations.
and a closer look at the photo:
Isn't it an adorable photo?  The neutral colours are gorgeous and of course the ghost mug is super cute.  You could just use the colours, the cosy sweater, the ghost, the leaf or a combination of all of them.  I can't wait to see what you choose.  I decided to use all of them on my card and I think it turned out super cute.  I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel to 4" x 5 1/4" (although I will cut it down later) and stamped the gorgeous knit background using a light brown ink pad.  I didn't have a ghost mug but I did have a mug and a ghost die so cut them both from white card and darkened the edges with some light grey ink for some dimension (I cut 3 more ghosts so that I could layer them up).  I cut some leaves from a yellow card and inked up the edges with a light brown ink pad.  At this point I decided to cut down my panel using a stitched rectangle die and adhered it to my card base using double sided tape.  I added three of the leaves 'inside' the mug and two more peeking out of the bottom using liquid glue and adhered the mug onto the background using double sided tape.  I did add some very thin foam squares behind the leaves at the top for some stability.  I added the ghost onto the front of the mug using liquid glue.  I used a fun pre-printed sentiment, which I die cut with a sentiments strip die and inked over it with the light brown ink, before adhering it below the mug using foam squares.  I finished off with some gold pearls.  For the inside I die cut another white stitched rectangle and also stamped another piece of the knit background and added a strip to the bottom of the panel using liquid glue.  I die cut one more ghost and 3 more leaves and added them in the bottom right corner using liquid glue.  I used another pre-printed sentiment, which I die cut and inked as before, and added this into the centre of the panel using liquid glue.  The panel was adhered to my card base using double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

CRAFT challenge - Halloween
Craft Rocket challenge - autumn and/or Halloween

Krafty Chicks challenge #842 - CAS

Good morning lovely friends and welcome to my little corner of blogland. It's time for a new challenge over at Krafty Chicks challenge and this week we are on Week 3; and as always the theme is 'CAS (clean and simple)' and Diane is our hostess. Now we know that CAS is subjective but generally it's lots of open space (doesn't have to be white), no embellishments (or very few) and an uncluttered design. It can be a difficult design to pull off but we hope you will take on the challenge and come over and join in the fun with us.

I saw a fun card on Pinterest and decided to give it a go.  I changed up the layout ever so slightly and also the colour scheme but the shapes are the same.  I think it turned out great and I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and also a second white panel which I die cut with a stitched rectangle.  I decided to use the colour scheme on the current AAA Cards challenge and cut my coloured card to 1" squares and 3/4" squares and used a punch to round 2 of the corners which made them look a bit like a petal.  I added the 'petals' with liquid glue onto the stitched rectangle, starting at the top left corner and working down towards to the bottom right corner, leaving a slightly gap in the middle for my sentiment, which I stamped in black ink.  I adhered both the panels together and added it to my card base using double sided tape.  For the inside I cut two more white panels and 4 more squares from coloured card.  I added the 'petals' in the bottom left corner with liquid glue and stamped the sentiment in the centre with black ink.  I added the panels onto my card base using double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

AAA Cards challenge - game 325 - color challenge
A Cut Above challenge - ATG with a die cut (my stitched rectangle)
Addicted to Stamps & More challenge - birthdays
Creative Friday challenge - faux stitching
Inkspirational challenge - CAS optional twist plaid
Simply Clean and Simple challenge - ATG CAS optional keep it tiny

I hope you will be able to join us for our 'CAS' challenge and I cannot wait to see your creations in our linky. Please leave some love for my fellow chicks - Leanne, Diane and Lori. Thank you so much for stopping by; I appreciate your lovely comments.

Love and hugs,

Card Clubhouse IG Hop - Week 21

Hello lovely friends; I'm here to share my card for the Card Clubhouse IG hop organised by my sweet friend Kelly. We are on Week 21 and our theme is 'opposites attract' for example, black/white, dark/light, clean/layered, pastel/bright, warm/cool, soft/texture. This is going to be a great hop this week and I can't wait to see what sparks your imagination.
For my card I decided to go with colours vs white as my opposites attract and I think it turned out quite pretty.  I used some bright patterned paper, white card and a leafy die cut and I'm really happy with it.  I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by die cutting the patterned paper and white card using a die set from MFT and adhered the pieces onto a white panel cut to 4" x 5 1/4".  I die cut the leaf die from white card and also from the patterned paper and adhered the white piece onto the front of my card using liquid glue.  I pieced the white leaf inners back into place over the patterned paper and pieced the patterned paper leaf inners over the white card using liquid glue.  I chose an ink pad of a similar colour to the teal stripe and stamped my sentiment in the upper part of the white section.  I finished off with some pastel pearls on the white section and some white pearls on the paper section.  The panel was adhered to my card base using double sided tape.  For the inside I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" stamped the sentiment in the centre using the teal ink pad.  I cut a piece of the patterned paper and die cut part of the leaf from it before adding it onto the bottom of the panel, as well as the outline leaf inner, with liquid glue.  I adhered the panel onto my card base using double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Stencil Fun IG Hop - Oct 26

Hello friends; I here to share my card for the Stencil Fun IG Hop organised by my lovely friend Jane. We are a group of crafters who are determined to use their forgotten and neglected stencils. I'm definitely guilty of this; I have so many stencils but usually forget to reach for them so this hop is perfect for me. The theme is always anything goes but we will have an optional theme to use if we want to. This month's optional theme is 'abstract/splatter and I'm sure there will be lots of fantastic and colourful creations.  I'm excited to see what everyone has made.
I used a stencil from Uniko appropriately called 'abstract triangles' for my background and loved the colours from the current Colorful Options challenge of black, red and orange.  I also added some spatter with white gouache.  The background screamed Halloween to me so that is what I made.  I hope you like it.
Here is my card:
a closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I started with a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" (but will cut it down later) and stencilled the abstract design using black, red and orange ink pads (starting from the outside and working in towards the centre).  I think it turned out fantastic and looks really striking.  I decided to cut it down using a stitched rectangle die and also cut the next size up from black card to create the look of a wide frame.  I added some scrap black card behind the stencilled panel for dimension and adhered it to the black panel with liquid glue.  The background was perfect for a Halloween card so die cut some spooky shapes from black card and added them onto the background with liquid glue.  I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment and used a sentiment strips die to cut it out.  I added the sentiment with foam squares.  The panel was adhered to my card base using double sided tape.  For the inside I cut another white panel and stencilled at the bottom using the same inks.  I die cut it using the stitched rectangle and also cut another bigger one from black card.  I die cut another tree and bird from black card and added them to the bottom of the panel using liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in the centre of the panel using black ink and added the panel onto my card base using double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Colorful Options challenge - black, orange, red and white - option 1 & 4
Craft Rocket challenge - autumn and/or Halloween
Crafty Animals challenge - ATG must include an animal
Crafty Calendar challenge - autumn/Halloween

Daisy Chain challenge - autumn or Halloween
Pearly Sparkles challenge - trick or treat
Shopping Our Stash challenge - black cats (or bats, spiders etc)
Stencil Fun challenge - use a stencil optional theme: orange

CASE IT IG Hop - October 26

Hello again friends. I hope you've had a great start to your weekend. I'm here to share this month's card for the CASE IT Instagram Hop where we find a project on Instagram that inspires us and we will share that project as well as the project we’ve created. There are so many beautiful creations on Instagram the only difficult part is narrowing down which one to CASE (which means Copy And Share Everything).
This month I was inspired by @houses_built_with_cards and as soon as I saw Heather's cards I was in love, although I could have chosen any of her cards as she is so talented.  I loved the clean and simple layouts, the stripes and of course that I could make a two-fer!!  I have to say that I kept pretty much to Heather's design, using the circles and stripes but changed up the colours and sentiments.  I also used sequins instead of her enamel dots.  You can definitely see that my cards were inspired by hers! Here are her cards for my inspiration:
Aren't her cards just amazing? Using Ardyth's LIMES process (you can watch her video here) we list what we see - she has used blues as her main colours, a die cut circle, stamped sentiments, blue enamel dots and a clean and simple design.  So as I mentioned I pretty much followed Heather's layout and style but changed my colours to bright pink, orange and yellow and my paper is stripes instead of woodgrain.  I used different sentiments and also swapped her enamel dots for black sequins.  I hope you like them.
Here are my cards:
A closer look at card 1:
Plus I decorated the inside:
A closer look at card 2:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and cut some strips from my pink, orange and yellow scraps.  I laid onto the panel at an angle using liquid glue and took a circle die and cut it out of the panel.  For the first card I took another white panel the same size and laid it behind the striped panel with the cut out circle using foam squares.  I stamped the gorgeous bold sentiment using black ink onto the back panel and added some black sequins to finish.  I added the panel onto my card base using double sided tape.  For the inside I added some strips of the coloured card to the bottom of a white panel with liquid glue and stamped a sentiment in the centre using black ink.  The panel was then adhered to my card base using double sided tape.

For the second card I used the cut out circle, although I think my stripes were a little bigger than Heather's and didn't leave much room for my sentiment, so I cut a second white circle, trimmed down the striped circle slightly and added it over the plain one with liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink at the top of the circle and added foam squares behind.  I cut another white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and a piece of black and white striped paper to 2" x 5 1/4" and added it to the panel with liquid glue.  I added the circle on top and finished off with some black sequins.  For the inside I cut another white panel and added a strip of the striped pattern paper at the bottom before stamping the sentiment in the centre with black ink.  The panel was adhered to the card base with double sided tape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create challenge - ATG optional twist think pink
Allsorts challenge - more than one fold or ATG (entering card 1)
Dragonfly Dreams challenge - sentiment as focus
Word Power challenge - sentiment as the focus

We hope you will be inspired by our CASE IT Instagram Hop and will pop over and check out all the gorgeous cards along the way. If you would like to join us please visit my Instagram page or use the hashtag #caseithop and we will find you.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
