Hello again friends, I'm back with my second card for today and I am guest designer over at the Girlz & the Art of Letters challenge. They have a fun challenge based on the letters of the alphabet and this fortnight the letter is L. So get your thinking caps on and join in the fun.
I was originally going to use a lion image but changed my mind and settled on using some ladybird (or ladybug to my American friends) images instead, plus a few leaves. I coloured them with Promarkers and actually mirror image stamped one of them so that they could look different ways. I think it turned out super cute and I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the details:
Plus I decorated the inside too:
I began by stamping the images onto alcohol marker friendly card and coloured them with my Promarkers. I used a mirror image 'stamp' to be able to have the one image facing the other way and although I had the die I decided to fussy cut it out as I wasn't confident that I would cut it correctly if I used the die. I used the die to cut out the original image and added some white highlights to both images. I cut a piece of green card 4" x 5 1/4" and embossed it using a lattice design folder and because the green card was quite thin I adhered it to a white panel to give it some stability. I die cut three ovals from white card and also cut three more so that I could layer them up and ink blended some blue and green ink to mimic sky and grass. I adhered them to the green panel using liquid glue, cutting off the extra that was overhanging the panel and added the ladybirds to the first two using foam squares. I stamped the sentiment onto the third oval using black ink. The leaves were already die cut from a previous project so I added them between the panels using liquid glue. I finished off with some red solid sequins. The panel was adhered to my card base using double sided tape. For the inside I cut a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and added a strip of the green embossed card to the bottom using liquid glue. I die cut another oval, inked it as before and added it over the embossed strip using liquid glue. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut another ladybird and added that on the oval using liquid glue. I also added two more leaves alongside the oval using liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in the centre of the panel using black ink and added the panel onto my card base using double sided tape.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
