I thought I would follow a colour challenge for a change but instead of colouring my image with the colours I went with blocks of colour in my background and an uncoloured image. I really like the finished card and it took no time at all (once I had figured out what I was going to do lol!). I hope you like it too.
Here is my card:
A closer look at the image:
Plus I decorated the inside:
I began by cutting a white panel 4" x 5 1/4" and used this as the backing to line up my coloured card. I cut each piece of coloured card to 4" x 1/2" and adhered them to the white panel with liquid glue, leaving a tiny gap so that the white would show through. I stamped the gorgeous roses image, along with the sentiment from the same stamp set, with black ink and cut them out using the coordinating dies. I also cut another 2 of each from white card so that I could stack them up. At this point I decided to add some interest with a stitched edge so used a die from ML14 and cut out the panel. I adhered the rose image and sentiment on to the panel with liquid glue. I added some scrap white card behind the panel and adhered it to the card base with double sided tape. For the inside I cut thin strips of the coloured card and adhered them to the bottom of another white panel with liquid glue and then used the stitched rectangle to cut it out. I stamped the rose image in the centre with a light grey ink and stamped the sentiment over top with black ink. I love the simplicity of this card and I think it really makes the image pop with the colour blocks behind it.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
