Well hello dear friends – long time no speak!! I’m sorry I haven’t posted for such a long time but I’ve not been feeling very well plus I’ve had problems with my internet connection. To be honest I’ve been feeling so low I’ve even considered giving up crafting – I know shocker! However I’ve decided to cut back on some of my DT work and concentrate on just a few DT teams and hopefully my love of crafting will return. I think that I’ve over committed myself and have been really struggling over the last few months, but now that I’ve taken steps to rectify the problems hopefully things will start to look up very soon. The only problem now is that my mojo seems to have taken the break badly and doesn’t want to return to work lol!
Ok, enough rambling from me this morning, let’s share my card!! It’s time for a brand new challenge over at cupcake craft challenge and I have the honour of setting the theme. I have chosen “book lover” as my theme so would like to see either images that feature a book, maybe a bookmark or even use pages from an old book as your background. I decided to use an image that includes a book and here is my card:
The image is Some Odd Girl and is called “bookish Tia” and I coloured her with promarkers and flex markers (although I’ve just noticed I haven’t coloured her hand lol!). The papers are echo park from the ‘be mine’ paper pad (I thought the text paper looked like something from an old manuscript) and the plain card is from eBay. The butterflies are die-namics dies and the gems are from MeiFlower.
We have two sponsors this week – firstly we have A Day for Daisies who are offering one lucky winner a $12 gift card and our second sponsor is Make the Day Special who are offering one lucky winner 2 Paper Smooches stamp sets (‘Smarty Pants’ & ‘Metropolis’).
The rest of the design team have created amazing samples so please pop over to the challenge blog and check them out. We really appreciate the lovely comments you leave for us.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Some Odd Girl challenge – sketch
Cute card Thursday challenge – a touch of sparkle
Truly scrumptious challenge – anything goes
I love promarkers challenge – anything goes
Addicted to stamps challenge – black, white & 1 other colour (pink)
Pile it on challenge – patterns: mix your scales
Stampin’ sisters in Christ challenge – build up your card (i.e. add layers)
I hope you can join in with my challenge and I cannot wait to visit your blogs and see your gorgeous creations. In my absence I have had 4 new followers, which I would like to welcome – Gunn’s kort, Jane Brown, topcatcool, and elainea1. Thanks for joining my happy band of followers – I really appreciate your support and I hope you will stop by often. I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by.
Card ingredients:
Image: some odd girl – ‘bookish Tia’
Papers: echo park – ‘be mine’ paper pad, black card from eBay

ReplyDeleteOh Denise, I wondered where you'd been. I totally feel the same as you sometimes, I feel like giving up, but then I remember how much I do love card making. And as I don't have a blog, the pressure must be more for you to carry on. I'm sure your mojo will come back soon, just take it easy and make some time for you. Fab card btw! xx
ReplyDeleteGood to see yiu back hun. You've made the right decision though I know it is hard to give up working in teams you like. Gorgeous card. That did make me smile about her hand. I haven't done that yet but have added an image to my card then realised I have missed something. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteHiya Denise! I think you've done the right decision cutting down on your crafty commitments... it's no longer fun when it becomes a chore! Hopefully your mojo will return to work soon. Your card is lovely though... so maybe your mojo is on it's way back?! Hugs, Shelly x

What a delightful card! Really love this one. The colours are great as is the image. Jx
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel about giving up sometimes, Denise - I had a real crisis of carfting over the festive season and could have quite gladly packed everything away never to see the light of day again! I am getting back into things now, but like yourself, really had to take a time out for a little while. I have found that sketches have really helped me with inspiration, something I never really bothered with before.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, I love your sweet card - great paper choice and colour combo, and you've coloured that SOG image brilliantly! Hope your mojo finds it's way home soon, though it can't be far away if this card's anything to go by?! Lisa x
