Husband Father's Day card

Happy Tuesday friends.  Today I'm sharing the card I made for my hubby on Father's Day but never got around to blogging at the time.  It's a very clean and simple card but I think most men prefer this style of card anyway - don't you agree?

close up of the ties

I actually remembered to photograph the inside before writing on it!

I stamped the cute ties in various coloured inks and die cut them using the matching dies.  I drew a curved line with a black fine line marker onto my white panel and then arranged the ties over the top with foam tape.  The sentiments were stamped with Versfine onyx black ink.  I added the white panel onto a piece of patterned paper and then placed this onto my white card blank with liquid glue.  The inside was created with 2 extra ties I had left over and a simple sentiment.

Krafty Chicks challenge - all occasions
Little Red Wagon - spots and/or stripes (ties have spots/stripes and striped paper)

I hope you have a great week and enough the sunshine that is promised for the rest of the week.

Thanks for stopping by and take care.

Hugs to you all,

Cute chicks

Hello again friends.  Here we are again at the beginning of a new week - I can't believe where the time is going - next week will be August!  I'm here today to share a card I made for my eldest son back in May but never got around to sharing with you.  I know it's a bit cutsie for a 26 year old but I don't think you're really ever too old for cute 😏

close up of the card

I ink blended some random areas on my background panel with distress oxide inks and put it aside.  I then die cut some stars from a white panel and and added this onto the blended background panel.  I matted and layered this panel onto a black layer and added this to a fog card base using foam tape.  I coloured the cute images with Promarkers and fussy cut them out and used foam tape to add them into the die cut stars.  I stamped the sentiments in Versafine onyx black ink and finished off with a few smaller black die cut stars and some pearl embellishments.  I think this card is so happy and cheerful and perfect for a birthday.

I am going to enter my card into the following challenges:

Alphabet challenge - favourite food (cupcakes are definitely on the list)
Unicorn challenge - food and/or drink
Craft Rocket challenge - for the men/boys
Krafty Chicks challenge - all occasions

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful week.

Take care and hugs,

Party Pals birthday card

Hello again crafty friends.  I hope the start of your week has been good.  My back is slowly improving but not as quickly as I would like but at least it is better than it was on the weekend.

I have a cute card to share with you that I made for a lovely crafty friend who is on my design team and lives in beautiful Sweden (which I had the pleasure of visiting over 20 years ago).

closer look at the card:

I firstly cut a white scalloped panel and another smaller white panel which was lightly inked with distress oxide inks to create a soft background for my cute images.  I coloured the adorable panda images and the 'happy' banner with Promarkers and added them with foam tape onto the blended panel.  I stamped the birthday sentiment with black ink and finally embellished the card with some clear sequins.  A very quick and fun card but really sweet I think.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin' challenge - clean and simple
Krafty chicks challenge - clean and simple
Daisy Chain challenge - no design paper
Inkspirational challenge - painting or colouring

I will try and be back later in the week with another card but until then enjoy the rest of your week and take care.

Pet sympathy card

Unfortunately I've had to make 2 sympathy cards this week, one for a person and one for a pet.  They are sad cards to make aren't they.  I thought I would share the pet one today.  My lovely friend in work had to say goodbye to her beautiful dog Jenny last week and this is the card I made for her and her husband:

I also made my own envelope:

I ink blended the paw/heart stencil with some white ink onto red cardstock and adhered this to a white panel.  I die cut a white heart and a black dog (only using the dog part from the Waffle Flower 'rainbow bridge dog die') and added this to the panel.  I used a beautiful sentiment also from Waffle Flower and stamped it with Versafine onyx black ink.  I found this sweet 'bones' 12x12 paper in my stash (from many moons ago) and thought it would make the perfect envelope.  I also decorated the inside but I keep forgetting to take a photo until after I've already written on it!

It's such a hard thing to say goodbye to a pet, especially when they've been ill and you know the day is coming.  I'm sure my friend took some comfort in my card and even though I couldn't take the pain away she knew I was thinking of her and her husband.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

CCC Digi Creations challenge - no patterned papers
Simon Says Stamp IG challenge - friendship (made for my friend)

I'm really struggling with my back at the moment, I was getting clothes out of the washing machine on Thursday and it suddenly gave way.  Over the years I've suffered with sciatica but this is a different type of pain so I think I must have pulled a muscle or something.  I'm taking paracetamol and using my heat-bag to try and ease the pain but it's really uncomfortable.  Fingers crossed it will get better in a few days.

Have a great week everyone and take care.

Pretty butterflies

Hello again friends.  Well I finally had my hair cut yesterday and I feel so much better.  I always have a fringe but over the last 4 months I've had to endure it growing out and I hated it but now I have a fringe again and had about 3 inches cut off the length *yay*.  I know a lot of you are having hair cuts or due to have them so I know you appreciate how I feel.

I have a pretty butterfly card for you today and I ink blended the background using a masking stencil to ensure I had pristine borders.  I made this card for a neighbour whose birthday was last week.

Here's a close up of the card

I think ink blending is my favourite technique at the moment as it's relatively quick and gives amazing results.  After ink blending I again sprinkled water over the panel and dabbed with a piece of kitchen roll to achieve the splattered look.  The butterflies were coloured with promarkers, fussy cut and added to the panel with foam tape.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and for a final touch I added some crystals.

I love this colour combination and I hope you do too.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Allsorts challenge - I spy with my little eye something beginning with B (butterflies)
CCC Digi Creations challenge - no patterned paper

I can't believe it's Thursday already.  I'm off from work this week and apart from having my hair cut and a little bit of organising in my craft room I haven't really achieved anything but it has been nice chilling out and having some extra crafting time.

Take care and thanks for stopping by.

From your favourite friend!

Hello again lovely friends.  I thought I would share a bright and colourful card I made for a friend's birthday last week.

I inked blended the background with distress oxides (which is one of Kristina Werner's oxide combos) and sprinkled with water for a fun splattered look.  I also sprinkled with perfect pearls for some added sparkly splatter. I used an image from Love Cynthia which I coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut.  I die cut the happy birthday from the ink blended panel and added some fog card stock behind for some contrast and added shimmer pen to the die cut sentiment.  I then added a secondary sentiment and a few sequins to finish off.  As the card ended up being a non-standard size (5x6) I made my own envelope and used a couple of Mama Makes stamps to decorate it.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Unicorn challenge - food and/or drink (my image is holding a lollipop)
Allsorts challenge - I spy with my little eye something beginning with B (bright, birthday)

I hope you've had a great weekend.  I've had a great day as it's my birthday and I've done nothing at all 😀.  I've had a really relaxing day being spoilt by my hubby.  To top it off I have next week off from work so I don't even have to set my alarm tonight *yay*.

Thanks for stopping by and take care.

Hubby's anniversary card

Hello friends and welcome to a brand new week!  Last Friday me and hubby celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary so I took the opportunity to make him a fun card.

I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Kerys which you can find here as I already had the super cute Lawn Fawn 'rawr' mini stamp set in my stash.  I think her card is amazing and although mine isn't quite as good I think it turned out ok.  I coloured the cute dinosaur with Promarkers and created the shaker element by die-cutting the MFT LLD insert it instaframe from white card.  The background paper is also Lawn Fawn from the 'speckles' 6x6 petite paper pack.  The love die is by paper smooches called 'love word' and I cut it out 4 times from red card.  I did some stamp surgery on the sentiment so that I could replace the love word with the die cut word.  I die cut some hearts from the matching die set and added them to the shaker along with a few sequins from Studio Katia and Pretty Pink Posh (although I could have added a few more I think).

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - bright and cheerful
Cute Card Thursday challenge - anything goes
Creative Sketchy Girls challenge - male card
Craft Rocket challenge - for the men/boys

I will hopefully be back with another card later in the week as I've made a few over the weekend for friend's birthdays.  Until then have a great week and see you soon.

Take care and hugs,
