I'm a guest designer!!

Wow I've got some exciting news to share with you. I've been asked by Sammi at Crafty Muse to be a guest designer for a challenge or two. OMG how cool is that?! I'll be joining after the current challenge is finished, so look out for my entry LOL. I hope my card will be deemed "good enough" for them (I'm so nervous as well). Wish me luck. Thanks for looking.

ABC challenge 'C'

The ABC challenge this week is 'C - make a child's card'. Well I've been trying to enter this challenge for ages but they've already been around the alphabet once and this is the first time I've managed it. I had to make a birthday card for a friend to give her grandson and thought this would be the ideal choice to enter for the challenge. I used a stamp (from crafty muse) that I recently won, as part of their card challenge and coloured the image with my pro-markers. The gorgeous dp is BG from the archaic paper pad and the plain cs is bazzill bling. The clear button (SU) has had dp placed behind it and it was threaded with cotton which I tied in a bow. The squares were punched out of the dp with an x-cut paper punch and the sentiment was created on my pc. The ribbon is from my stash. Thanks for looking.

Basic grey challenge #23

I was asked to make a card by a lady at work but she wanted it A4 size so that her whole department could sign it. Now I have made quite a few of this size card before but they aren't my favourite as it is such a large space to fill. I decided to use the colour combo challenge on basic grey for my inspiration for this card (I opted for pink and green). I stamped the images and sentiments from the crazy for cupcakes SU stamp set and coloured them with my pro-markers adding diamond glaze to the cherries and sprinkles. The gorgeous dp is obviously basic grey from the sultry paper pad and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The sentiment was generated on my pc and the adhesive pearls are by kanban. The flowers are a combination of primas, punched flowers, flowers from my stash and there is also a spacer (from ebay). I am quite pleased with how this turned out. Thanks for looking.

PB #37/SCSC #20

This is my card for this week's penny black challenge, which is 'get well soon' and the secret crafter saturday challenge, which is a sketch. I stamped the gorgeous hedgie image and coloured him with my pro-markers. The yummy dp is by BG from the boxer paper pad and the plain cream cs is from the papermill shop. The sentiment is elzybells and I punched it out using my new woodware retro word labels punch. The brads are from an embellishment kit by dovecraft and the adhesive pearls are by kanban (I'm loving these at the moment). The dinky flowers are prima. Thanks for looking.

Dutch Dare #36/Sketch Saturday #39

This is my card for this week's dutch dare challenge, which is 'green & yellow' and the sketch saturday challenge (which is a sketch haha!). I stamped my gorgeous new sugar nellie 'chick-a-dee' image and coloured her with my pro-markers, adding highlights with a sakura stardust pen and white gel pen. The plain cs is from the papermill shop and the glitter dp is from the glitter stack by DCWV. The buttons are doodlebug and the sentiment is PB. I cut the decorative edge with my fiskars scissors. I love how bright and cheery this card is especially as today it's gray and dreary here LOL! Have a great evening. Thanks for looking.

Whiff of Joy challenge

This is my card for the Whiff of Joy challenge, which is a lovely sketch set by Katharina herself! They are also searching for a new member of their design team. Now I know I'm not up to the standard of the WOJ DT but I really enjoyed using the sketch. I stamped the WOJ image (willow with hot chocolate) and coloured her with my pro-markers, adding highlights to her jeans with a sakura stardust pen and white gel pen. The gorgeous dp is all BG from the sugared paper pad. I cut the scalloped edge with a pair of fiskars decorative scissors. The sentiment is from craftwork cards and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash. The adhesive pearls are by kanban (yes I found the packet *yay*). I'm really happy with how this card turned out as the colours are ones that I very rarely use, but I like them alot. Thanks for looking.

Charisma cardz challenge #7

This is my entry for this week's charisma cardz challenge, which is 'hugs & cuddles'. I used a ready made holographic box (from tesco) which I really didn't like and covered it with gorgeous dp by cosmo cricket. The image (I think the bear looks like he's cuddling his heart) was a freebie from a craft magazine which I coloured with my pro-markers, adding highlights with a white gel pen. The ribbon is from my stash and the adhesive dots are from QVC. The pics show that I covered the inside too (albeit a little sloppily) and I'm really pleased with the end result - much better than it began (sorry forgot the before photo AGAIN!). Have a great evening. I'll be back later with another card. Thanks for looking.

MTTC #49/LOTV #19

Here is my card for this week's my time to craft challenge, which is 'pink and brown' and the lily of the valley challenge is a recipe '3 brads, 2 papers and 1 flower'. I stamped my new SU crazy for cupcakes image and coloured it with my pro-markers. I added diamond glaze to the cherries and stickles to the icing. The yummy dp (one patterned and one plain) is BG from the sultry paper pad. The pearl brads are PM (I think!) and the flower is from my stash. The sentiment is also from the same SU stamp set. I don't normally leave any white showing on my card and it does look a little bare to me, but I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

ASFOS #39

This is my entry for this week's a spoonfull of sugar challenge, which is a sketch. I stamped the gorgeous princess anya image (the greeting farm) and coloured her with my pro-markers and added some sakura stardust pen to her crown and stick thing* (can't remember what it's called LOL!). The dp is doodlebug and the plain pink cs is from the papermill shop. The brown cs is bazzill bling. The flowers and buttons are from my stash and the adhesive gems are again my new ones that I threw away the packet and can't remember who makes them (d'0h). The sentiment was done on my pc and the sticky ribbon is by anita's. Hope you like. Will be back soon with another card. Thanks for looking.

*Ooh it's come to me - it's her WAND - haha!

Elzybells are releasing lots of new stamps today and they are yummy. I particularly like the coffee stamps and sentiments (see photo). Check out Elizabeth's blog here and you could win all the new sets released today *woohoo*. Thanks for looking.

Papertake challenge/Mojo sketch challenge #74/Cupcake Challenge #27

The papertake challenge this week was 'a perfect match' so I made a card and altered a photoframe in matching colours - that brings me onto the cupcake challenge, which was to alter something. The sketch that I used for the card was the mojo sketch for this week. Well I say this week but I'm chasing my tail as usual and the challenges all change again tomorrow LOL! Anywhoo onto the deets of the card. I stamped my new (and gorgeous) angel anya by the greeting farm and coloured her with my pro-markers. I added highlights to her wings with a sakura stardust pen and stickles to her halo. The yummy dp is BG and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment was done on my pc. The "21" was done with stickers by creative imaginations and the pearls I only bought last week but I threw away the packet and can't remember who they are by. For the frame, sorry I forgot to take a before photo but it was plain wood colour. I sanded the frame and then coloured it with my trusty pro-markers. I punched various flowers and stuck them together using the same materials as for the card. The sentiment stamp I used is by studio g. I also added a faux stitched edge with a fine line marker pen. To be honest I'm not that happy with how the frame turned out (actually I think it's rubbish) but I wasn't going to enter the challenge and then changed my mind last minute but hey at least I had a go. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for looking.

My New Look

Hi All

I've just popped on to show off my new look on my blog - isn't it stunning. I found Deb's blog by accident and she provides free headers and backgrounds for us bloggers to use. They are simple to install (if I can do it anyone can) and she is such a lovely lady. There's a link to her blog so why not go and take a look, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for looking.

CCT #48/Crafty Muse challenge/Friday sketchers #40

This is my card for this week's cute card thursday challenge, which 'signs of spring', the crafty muse challenge, which is 'favourite colour' and this week's friday sketchers sketch. I downloaded the free Angelica image (from crafty muse) and coloured her with my pro-markers. I added a hint of sakura stardust pen to her wings and carefully trimmed around the image. The dp is a freebie from a craft magazine (and isn't it very bright and cheery, just perfect for spring) and the cs is from the papermill shop. The sentiment is from SU and the buttons are doodlebug. The flowers are from my stash. Thanks for looking.

Bella birthday

I was asked to make this card by a friend of my mother and it is A5 in size (A4 folded in half). I stamped the stamping bella (billboardabella) image and coloured her with my pro-markers (the happy birthday sentiment also comes in the set along with another 4). The gorgeous dp is cosmo cricket (it's double sided) and the plain brown dp is from a paper pack I got from QVC. The flowers and buttons are from my stash and the sentiment was done on the pc. The adhesive stones are kaisercraft. I used a sketch on scs for the stamping bella challenge but unfortunately I used last week's sketch instead of this week's (d'oh!). Thanks for looking.

Penny Black challenge #36

This is my card for this week's PB challenge, which is a sketch. I've turned the sketch on it's side to accomodate the image. I stamped the gorgeous floral PB image using my brilliance pearlescent orchid inkpad. The plain pink cs is from the papermill shop and the patterned dp is a freebie from a craft magazine. The striped and checked dp is by DCWV from the nanna's nursery (boy) paper pad. The plain aqua dp is from a paper pack from QVC. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash and the buttons are doodlebug. Thanks for looking.

Not for a challenge (shock)!

I made this card for my mum to give to her friend. I stamped the cc designs image and coloured her with my pro-markers. I used my woodware paper punch to cut out the scalloped oval. The dp is a freebie from a craft magazine and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The ric-rac ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment was done on my pc. Quite a simple card but I liked the dp and didn't want to cover it too much. The card is really heavy though as there's lots of layers. Thanks for looking.

WOJ #18/Charisma Cardz #6/Sketch Saturday #38

This is my card for this week's WOJ challenge which is a recipe (3 papers, 2 flowers and 1 button or brad), charisma cardz challenge which is 'cupcakes' and sketch saturday which is a lovely sketch. I stamped the WOJ party animals image and coloured him with my pro-markers adding a little sakura stardust pen to the sprinkles on the cupcake. The dp is all SU (using up my supplies Jules!) and the cs is from the papermill shop. The button is from my stash and the sentiment was done on the pc. The circles were both cut out with my woodware paper punches and the starburst shapes (which I'm counting as my 2 flowers, were also punched out using a woodware punch. Well I couldn't have real flowers on a boys card could I?!). Hope you like. Thanks for looking.

LOTV #18/Pollycraft challenge #9

This is my card for this week's lily of the valley challenge, which is a sketch and the pollycraft challenge, which is 'pink' (and my card is VERY pink!). I printed off the download from pollycraft and coloured it with my pro-markers. The dp is a freebie from a craft magazine and the cs is from the papermill shop. The flourish stamp is by inkadinkado and the ribbon is from my stash. The adhesive stones are PM and the sentiment is stampendous. Thanks for looking.

Sugar Bowl challenge #4

This is my card for this week's sugar bowl challenge which is 'one piece of patterned paper (which can be double sided)'. I stamped the sugar nellie Leanne Ellis image (can you tell I love 'em) and coloured her with my pro-markers. The double sided dp is by chatterbox inc and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The flower was cut with my woodware punch and a circle punch was used to cut the dp in the centre. I added stickles to the flower for added bling. I also punched out 5 small circles and added them to the bottom of my card for extra interest. The adhesive stones are PM. I really like this card, hope you do to! Thanks for looking.

Friday sketchers #39/SCSC #19

Warning: You may need sunglasses to view this card LOL!

This is my card for this week's friday sketchers challenge and the secret crafter saturday challenge which is 'spring has sprung'. I stamped the cc designs image and coloured her with my pro-markers. The plain cs is from the papermill shop and the glittery cs is from the glitter stack by DCWV. The flowers and brads are from my stash and the adhesive dots are from QVC. The sentiment was done on my pc. On the friday sketchers sketch the image panel is supposed to be an oval but unfortunately I didn't have an oval cutter big enough so I did a rectangle, hope this is ok. Thanks for looking.

Sketch & Stash challenge #3

This is my card for this week's sketch & stash challenge. I stamped the cc designs kitty and coloured her with my pro-markers. The dp is all DCWV from the nanna's nursery paper stack (boy) and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The sentiment was done on the pc and the wavy edge was cut with fiskars decorative scissors. The adhesive stones are PM and I used my new ribbon (that I've actually had for some time but only now getting around to using). Thanks for looking.

Mojo sketch challenge #73

Here is my card for this week's mojo monday sketch challenge, which is obviously a sketch (d'oh!). I stamped the elzybells image and lightly coloured it with my pro-markers. The plain cs is from the papermill shop and with the light blue cs I stamped the PM clear stamp image in a contrasting cat's eye chalk ink pad for a subtle background (click on the pic for a closer look). The sentiment is by stamps away and the ribbon is from my stash. Around the image panel I pierced some holes with my pokey tool and added faux stitching with a white gel pen. The adhesive stones are PM. Thanks for looking.

Papertake challenge/CCT #47/Stamp Something

Here is my card for this week's papertake challenge, which is a lovely sketch by Dawny, the cute card thursday challenge is 'music and dance' and the stamp something challenge is 'something chocolate'. I stamped the stamping bella ballerina image and coloured her with my pro-markers. The dp is all from the scrumptious paper pad by PM. The brown (or chocolate!) cs is from the papermill shop and is lovely IRL as it has a shimmer of pink to it as well. The sentiment was done on my pc and the flowers were punched out with my x-cut punch. The adhesive dots are from QVC. I've added an extra pic as the lighting here is poor today and the one of the card looks quite dark. Thanks for looking.

Happy Valentine's Day

I haven't got a card to show you just yet but I wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day. I hope you all had cards, flowers, choccies etc. I was very lucky and had a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a slushy card, even though I wasn't expecting them as I told my hubby not to get me anything. I've ordered lots of stamps recently (SU and stamping bella) and felt that they should be my pressie but my beloved got me flowers as well. I'll try and take a pic tomorrow when the light is better. I hope you are all enjoying your day. Will be back with a card soon. Thanks for stopping by.

Edited to add: well here are my flowers. Ignore the arrangement of the flowers as I'm c**p at it but you can see how lovely they are LOL!
