Another set of notelets a la Mish Mash

I made a set of notelets, again following the style of mish mash at http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/. I used Verve Visual's petals & stems set for the flower and stamped with pink brilliance ink, which gives a stunning effect. The pink cs is from the papermill shop and the black cs is bazzill. I made 5 notelets and matching envelopes and a pouch to house them all in. The black velvet ribbon was tied around the pouch and just slides off to allow access. The small sentiment on the pouch is also by Verve Visual. Hope you like. Thanks for looking. Apologies for the really poor photograph showing the notelet itself (typical eh!).

Keepsake card

A friend at work asked me to make her a keepsake card for her daughter's 30th birthday. She wanted a large A4 card (and just as well as I needed the room to fit in all the photos). The dp I used was from a 12x12 stack that I bought ages ago from QVC, the plain pink cs was from the papermill shop and the black cs was bazzill. I used prima sprites flowers on the front page with adhesive stones in the centre, other flowers from my stash. The pink letters and numbers are stickers by making memories and I used my pc for the sentiment. The ribbon was from my stash and was adhered behind the front photograph and back verse to enable the card to tie closed. My friend was so pleased she cried!! Thanks for looking.

Friday sketchers challenge

This is my card for this week's Friday Sketchers challenge. I enjoyed the sketch although I'm not that happy with the way I assembled the card, as the image panel is much too low for my liking. I used a freebie download image from Kerry which I coloured with watercolour pencils. The dp is by K & Co, plain cs from the papermill shop and the sentiment is by stampendous. The ribbon is by American crafts. This card will come in very handy with a 14yr old and 12 yr old boy in the house!! Thanks for looking.

Stamp Something Challenge

This is my entry for the stamp something challenge which has a sketch to follow. I used plain pink cs from the papermill shop, black bazzill cs, and pink dotty dp, but as I used the last piece I can't remember who makes it. I received the image from Tracy at Ella Bella, I think ;) and I coloured it (badly) with my marvy markers and highlighted the cupcake with stickles. The black gems are by papermania and the pink ribbon is by dovecraft. The rub-on (quite hard to see on the ribbon) is by pebbles inc. I also made a matching notepad, not in the challenge but I like making them and added flowers from my stash, a gem brad and velvet ribbon by dovecraft. I used the 99p alphabet stamps by studio g for the wording. Thanks for looking.

Penny Black Challenge and CCT challenge

Due to time constraints my participation in the various challenges around has been very poor of late so this week I decided to try and combine challenges where I could. Therefore I combined the Penny Black challenge (friendship)and the Cute Card Thursday challenge (birthday card) and this is the result. I used a stamped image kindly sent to me (sorry girls I've received so many lately and they've all got mixed up and can't remember who sent it :( I watercoloured the image with marvy markers and highlighted the present with my sakura stardust pen. I stamped the stampendous sentiment and used a provocraft rub-on at the bottom. Flowers and brads from my stash. Ribbon is by American Crafts. Thanks for looking.

RAK from Diane

I received this wonderful RAK (random act of kindness) from Diane at Pink Sunflower. She made this wonderful oriental style card (beautiful colouring by the way Diane) and sent me lots of lovely Magnolia stamped images (which I don't have *yay*). Thank you so much Diane, you are so kind. Thanks for looking.

Christening cards

I was asked to make christening cards for a brother & sister who were getting christened on the same day. I used teddy bear die-cuts, as I thought they were suitable for a 4 year old (boy) and 6 month old (girl). On the boy card I used light blue cs from the papermill shop and dark blue bazzill cs and plain white cs which I cut with my scallop scissors. I used a tiny scrap of DCWV glitter stack dp and my pc for the sentiment. For the girl card I used my gorgeous new DCWV blossoms and butterflies glitter dp, plain pink cs again from the papermill shop, white organza ribbon and papermania adhesive stones. Thanks for looking.

Happy Father's Day

I wanted to wish my father, father-in-law and husband a happy father's day. We went visiting today to drop of pressies/cards but we also went to the cinema to see The Incredible Hulk (my husband's choice as it was his day). It was actually quite good, much better that the first one. Lots of action and we all enjoyed it. After seeing all the previews before the film I want to see Will Smith's new film Hancock, which is out this summer I think. The kids also fancy Wall-E (which I would quite like to see too - being a big kid).

Anyway onto the cards! These are the cards I made for my husband, dad and father-in-law. They are all really basic as none of them are really interested in cards (even if they're mine - shock horror!). It did make other father's day cards for work but forgot to photograph them before I took them in!! If you need any more details please let me know. Thanks for looking.

How lucky am I???

This first pic shows candy that I won from Lana at http://www.lunarlana.typepad.com. I received a gorgeous flower chicky stamp by Penny Black (wow) and three handmade items. They are all totally fabulous and there was even some chocolate in the little boxes. It was so generous of Lana, I'm ever so grateful.

The second pic shows runner-up candy that I received from Shelley at http://minkiespaperparadise.blogspot.com. She sent me a lovely handmade card, loads of stamped images from Penny Black, Pink Petticoat images, ribbon, background papers and sequins (which I forgot to photograph - d'oh!). I was gobsmacked by how much she sent, considering this was only the runner-up candy, I can't even imagine what she sent the winner :). Thank you so much Shelley.

Snooker card

I was asked to make a snooker card by a friend for her son. As I didn't have any stamps suitable I resorted to using a peel off sticker. I don't normally use peel-offs but as this one was "filled in" with cs I don't think it turned out too badly. I used different coloured pieces of cs for the waistcoast and also with the balls which I cut out and stuck onto the 'table'. I used my pc for the sentiment. The dp didn't have a name on it so I assume it was from a stack that I bought quite some time ago from QVC. Thanks for looking.

More birthday cards

For the first card I used an image kindly sent to me by Diane at Pink Sunflower, which I watercoloured with my marvy markers. The flowery dp is by DCWV and the plain cs is bazzill. I punched out three small flowers and added papermania adhesive stones to the centre. The sentiment is by Hero Arts. The sticky ribbon is by papermania. I used a sakura stardust jelly roll pen to highlight the parcels on the image.

For the second card I used a stamping bella image (again kindly from Tracy at Dies to Die For), watercoloured with marvy markers. I added stickles to her hair and coffee cup and used a sakura white glaze pen for the dots on her chair . The sentiment is by stampendous and the dp is by american crafts. The plain blue cs is bazzill. I added a few papermania adhesive stones for added bling. Thanks for looking.

Friend card

I made this card for a close friend, whose birthday was this week. I used a stamping bella image kindly sent to me by Tracy at Dies to Die For which I watercoloured with my marvy markers. I used a sentiment by dovecraft on the image panel. The flowery dp is from the glitter stack by DCWV but I can't remember who makes the dotty paper (sorry) as I've used it lots lately and don't have any left. The birthday sentiment is by stampendous. The flower and brad are from my stash. Thanks for looking.

Friday the 13th all week!!

I've had a particularly trying week this week. Firstly my youngest son has been suffering terribly with his hayfever and his eye has been extremely irritable and puffy resulting in him being sent home from school. Then my grandfather was admitted to hospital yesterday evening with difficulty breathing. It's only about 2 weeks ago that he came home from hospital after having a horrendous fall that needed 12 stitches in his head, 5 in his eyebrow and 6 in his cheek. He was a mess. He is 94 years old and is now getting very frail and quite forgetful. The doctors are hopeful that they can alter his meds and make him feel better but please cross your fingers for a speedy recovery for him. Then to top off the week (and Friday the 13th) my youngest son (yes him again) fell whilst playing football in the park and has a huge lump on his forehead, grazes to his eyebrow, cheek and elbow and is feeling very sorry for himself. Wow, I hope that's it for a while! Sorry to ramble on but I think we've had our quota of mishaps for a while. Thanks for reading (if you got this far).

My homage to Mish Mash!

I don't know if you've visited Michelle's blog (http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/) but you really should. Her work is exceptional and I had a go at trying my hand at her notelets. I don't think they're a patch on the original but I was quite happy with the way they turned out. I used a plain piece of white cs matted onto pink cs as my base. I stamped the butterfly from verve visual 'petals & stems' set and watercoloured with my marvy markers. I cut them out with my circle punch and stuck them to a scallop of plain green cs. I used me and my big ideas dp and sentiment by stampendous. I also stamped the envelopes with the butterfly and sentiment stamps. Thanks for looking.

Bon appetit!

I made this card for a lady at work for her son who is a chef. I stamped the chef image and sentiment by Missy B Designs. I lightly watercoloured the image and mounted on bazzill bling cs. The dp is a scrap of black gingham from my stash and I used my pc for the sentiment. Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday Dad!

These are three cards that I made for my dad's birthday. The footballer card is from me and my husband, the robot card is from my children and the wolf is from my mum to my dad. The cards are all very simple but I think they turned out ok. The footballer stamp is by creative expressions, the robot stamp is by papermania and the wolf stamp is by rubber stampede. The dp on the footballer stamp is by craft creations, the dp on the robot card is from the matching paper pack and the dp on the wolf card is by imagination project. The cardstock is bazzill bling and I used my pc for the sentiments. Sorry for the long post, thanks for looking.

By the skin of my teeth!

I wasn't going to attempt the Papertake Challenge this week as I was too busy but at the last minute decided to have a go. I punched out 12 scallop squares from dp (me and my big ideas) and laid them onto bazzill bling cardstock. I then stamped 2 butterflies (verve visual) onto pink cardstock and stuck each of them onto another scallop square and raised them up with foam squares. I haven't added a sentiment as I think this card could be useful for lots of occasions. It's quite a simple card but I think it turned out ok. Thanks for looking.

I promised you cards...

.... I bet you wished I hadn't now!!

This was made for a friend in work who hasn't been feeling too good lately. I used a penny black stickeroo and the sentiment is by studio g. The DP was a small scrap that I had lying on my desk and I can't remember who it is by (sorry!). The glittery chipboard flowers are by craftime. Thanks for looking.
