Passion for promarkers #47 – DT card

Over at passion for promarkers challenge this week Ida has chosen the theme and she wants us to ‘create our background using only our promarkers’.  Now I have to say that when the DT saw the theme there were lots of groans and moans but everyone has done a terrific job.

Here is my effort:

PFP challenge 47 - create your own background

PFP challenge 47 - create your own background (close up)

To create my background I used lavender, yellow and ice grey 2 promarkers.  I coloured in 3 pieces of SU whisper white card with my 3 colours and then punched out 3 different size circles and randomly stuck them to a larger square of white card deliberately placing a few over the edge of the card.  I doodled around each circle with a black fine liner pen and cut off the overlapping circles.  I then placed this card onto a piece of purple card to use as my base.  I also coloured the raffia and ribbon with the promarkers to match my card.  I used a freebie image from pollycraft called ‘cody’ which I originally printed out to enter the recent DT call but unfortunately ran out of time to enter.  I coloured the image with the following promarkers:

Jeans – ice grey 2, ice grey 4, yellow and mustard

T-shirt, hat and shoes – lavender, lilac, yellow and mustard

Hair – yellow and mustard

Skin – ivory, blush and pastel pink

Shading – cool grey 1

The sentiment is SU from the ‘wow flowers’ stamp set and this was cut out with my SU oval all punches.  The image was cut out with my oval nesties.  I deliberately kept the card simple as I wanted to show as much of my background as I could. Sometimes you have an idea in your head but it doesn’t turn out as planned but I am actually quite pleased with how it turned out in the end.

Our sponsor this week is Letraset and one lucky winner will receive a 5 pack of promarkers.

I can’t wait to see what you create this week and look forward to visiting your blogs.

Don’t forget we have another Digi Friday tutorial on the Weekend Workshop on Friday and another chance to win an prize from our sponsor.

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:

Corrosive challenge – texture (raffia)

The treehouse challenge – Lavender, yellow & neutral

Simon says stamp challenge – card for a child

Denise, what a fun card that you have made. Cody certainly has some attitude and has been coloured in perfectly. I often colour ribbon, raffia etc to match with Promarkers - it saves so much time trying to find something to match with what colours you want to use. Thank you for joining in with Crafty Ann's Challenge this fortnight and we hope to see you again very soon. Best wishes, Kym xxx
