SSC #5 - friends

SSC #5 - friends (close up 1)

Hello everyone and welcome to the new challenge over at Susie’s sassy challenge.  I can’t believe we’re already on challenge number 5!  Our challenge this week is ‘friends – old and new’ and for my card I used a new but never used stamp by stamping bella called ‘bbf-abugs’.  I coloured the image with my promarkers and added a glittery effect to their wings with a sakura stardust pen.  The papers are all daisy bucket and the plain card is from the papermill shop.  The flowers are from my stash and the adhesive stones are PM.  The swirls were cut with my ek success punch and the sentiment is SU from the pocket silhouettes stamp set.

The prize for this challenge is a Guest Design Team spot for challenge #7 that starts on the 28th of January.  If you are picked as the winner you will be asked to make a GDT project/card for the challenge after next.  Wow what an amazing prize I’m sure you’ll agree :)  Check out the blog for more details.

Please check out the rest of the DT cards as they are all stunning.  I can’t wait to see what you create this time and look forward to visiting your blogs.  Thanks for stopping by today.

SWF #39 - Happy New Year

SWF #39 - Happy New Year (close up)

Hello everyone, I hope you’ve all recovered from the festivities and were all lucky enough to get lots of crafting goodies from Santa!  I can’t believe the big day has come and gone so quickly :(  We managed to get to my sister’s house for Christmas dinner and boy was it worth the effort – we had a three course meal and it was absolutely gorgeous.  It was just so lovely to spend some quality time with my sister and her family and my parents, I haven’t laughed so much for ages :)  I want to say a BIG thank you to everyone that sent me handmade Christmas cards, I can’t believe how many I received and I’m so touched by your kindness.

Onto my card which is for the Stamp with Fun challenge and the theme this week is ‘Happy New Year’; a nice, simple one for you this week!  For my card I used a stamping bella image called ‘winobella’ and coloured her with my promarkers, adding stickles to the glasses, her shoes, necklace and hair band.  The papers and card are all SU and the ribbon is from my stash.  I inked the edges of the papers with a colorbox cat’s eye chalk inkpad in olive pastel and cut the decorative edge with a fiskars border punch.  The swirls were cut with my ek success swirl punch and the adhesive stones are PM.  The sentiment was created on the pc.

The prize up for grabs this week has been donated by tina46 (who is part of the DT) and this is what one lucky winner will receive:

Don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT cards, as they are all beautiful.  I can’t wait to see what you create and look forward to visiting your blogs.

Merry Christmas

Merry_Christmas_2009_by_luv2blonr

I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year.  I hope you’ve all been good girls (and boys) and Santa brings you everything on your list :)

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving me such wonderful comments throughout the year – I appreciate each and every one of them.  I have ‘met’ some very special and talented people since I began my blog and I can’t wait to begin another exciting crafting year.  I have been so lucky this year – I’ve have been asked to join several design teams and also began the PFP challenge blog along with Gina and I’m hoping that 2010 will be even better – but I couldn’t have done any of this without you, my fellow crafters and your words of encouragement and support.

Have a wonderful day, whatever you are doing, and I’ll be back in a few days time.

Love and hugs,

A snowy update!

snowy front of house 21st Dec 09

Hello and welcome to a snowy South Wales :)  This was the view from my front door yesterday morning.  I really love the snow but only when I don’t have to go to work!!  It caused me no end of problems getting to work both yesterday and today.  I had to leave my car in the street and walk to the main road to get a taxi yesterday and a bus today (I don’t think I’ve been on a bus for about 10 years and it’s not an experience I wish to repeat!!)  I had so much planned to do this week but I don’t think I’m going to be able to do any of it – no-one is getting cards locally, although I did manage to post my cards further afield.  The kids thought it was awesome that they missed the last two days of school and went out throwing snowballs yesterday but stayed tucked up in the warm today.

I hope we have a bit of a thaw soon as I’m supposed to be going to my sister’s for Christmas lunch and although she doesn’t live that far away it will be a major walk especially carrying all their presents!!

I hope everyone is safe and sound and enjoying the wintry weather, if you have any.  I will hopefully be back before Christmas but I had better get some wrapping done first lol!  Thanks for stopping by today.

Cupcake craft challenge #71 – DT card

** THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY **

PLEASE CHECK OUT MY STAMP WITH FUN DT CARD

IN THE POST BELOW

engagement card

engagement card (close up)

Hello and welcome back.  Here is my card for the last cupcake craft challenge of 2009!.  Our theme for this challenge is ‘a time for celebration’ so basically you can make anything you like as long as you are celebrating something.  I was asked to make an engagement card by a friend at work so thought this would be ideal for this challenge.  I used a PB image called ‘good cheer’ and coloured it with my promarkers, adding stickles for the bubbles.  The papers are PM from the ‘scrumptious’ paper pack and the plain card is from the papermill shop.  I used my MS valentine lace border punch for the decorative edge and the hearts were cut out with a small punch from my stash.  The sentiments were created on the pc and cut out with my SU oval punches.  The adhesive stones are PM.

This challenge will last for two weeks so you have until 4th January 2010 when the new challenge is announced.  Our sponsor this week is our fellow DT member Kathrin and she is offering one lucky winner 1 set of personalised stamps.

Please check out the rest of the DT cards as they are all beautiful as always.  I can’t wait to see what you create and look forward to visiting your blogs.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Hello and welcome to the start of the biggest week of the year – hope you’re almost ready!!  Over at stamp with fun this week our challenge is a sketch by the lovely Tina.  I used a new stamp from sugar nellie called ‘Erin’ (available from funky kits) and coloured her with my promarkers.  The papers are from my scrap box and the plain card is from the papermill shop.  The ribbon is from my stash and the roses are from Joanna Sheen.  The swirls were cut with my ek success punch and the adhesive stones are PM.  The sentiment was created on the pc and the image was cut out with my rectangle nesties.

Our sponsor this week is Emmi41 (Andrea) from the design team and one lucky winner will receive this lot of lovely goodies:

Susie’s sassy challenge #4 – DT card

SSC #4 - a touch of gold

SSC #4 - a touch of gold (close up)

Hello and welcome to my second ‘catch up’ post!  This is my DT card for Susie’s sassy challenge, which launched last Thursday.  The theme for this challenge is ‘a touch of gold’.  Now as a rule I don’t really use gold – I’m more of a silver person but once I decided on my image and papers it all came together quite well I think.  I used a freebie digi image by Mo’s Digital Pencil called 'little girl in kimono’ (although I separated the girl and her kitten by cutting them out) and I coloured them with my promarkers.  The papers are BG from the wassail paper pad and the black and gold card are from the papermill shop and I embossed the white panel with my divine swirls embossing folder using the ‘bug.  The adhesive stones are PM and the ribbon is dovecraft.  The flowers were cut with my ek success retro flower punches (med & small) and the sentiment is SU from the ‘wow flowers’ stamp set.

I know its a busy time of year but I hope you can find the time to enter the challenge and I look forward to visiting your blogs.  Please take a look at the rest of the DT cards as they are all gorgeous.

The prize this week has been donated by the lovely Dulcie Jackson and this is what one lucky person will win:

Woohoo I’m back!!

Well after almost a week without a computer I’m so glad to be back.  I never thought it would take this long to get it back from the repair shop and it couldn’t have happened at a worst time but hey I’m finally back online :)  I hope you missed me ‘cos I certainly missed you!

I wasn’t able to post my DT project for Passion for Promarkers on Tuesday or Susie’s Sassy Challenge on Thursday so I will be doing one per day, starting today with my PFP project.

It was the second chance to show you a creation that was ‘anything but a card’ with a Christmas/New Year theme for our mega Christmas challenge, which is running until 5th January 2010.

PFP Christmas challenge project 2

PFP Christmas challenge project 2 (close up 2)

PFP Christmas challenge project 2 (close up 1)

For my project I decided to make some sour cream containers and wow I couldn’t believe how simple they were to make.  I used paper by daisy bucket designs and images by pink petticoat from the ‘have an ice Christmas’ collection.  I coloured the images with my promarkers and cut them out with my circle nesties.  The plain card is from the papermill shop and the ribbon is dovecraft.  I think I will make some for my sister to decorate the table for Christmas lunch as she is cooking for the whole family this year (yum yum).

I hope you are all prepared and organised (unlike me, who still hasn’t written her cards or wrapped her presents!) for the ‘big’ day.  Please pop back tomorrow to see my Susie’s sassy challenge DT card.  Thanks for stopping by and it’s so great to be finally back with you :)

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MY ‘STAMP WITH FUN’ DT CARD **

CCC challenge 70 - 5x5 b'day card

CCC challenge 70 - 5x5 b'day card (close up)

Hello and welcome to a brand new week – not long now until the ‘big’ day – hope you’re all organised (not like me).  It’s time for a brand new challenge over at cupcake craft challenge and this week super talented Tammy has chosen the theme of ‘a 5x5 birthday card’ – how simple is that, and a nice break from making those last minute Christmas cards.  For my card I used my new image from TGF called ‘sassy suzi’ (from dies for die for) and coloured her with my promarkers.  The gorgeous paper is K&Co from the sparkly sweet paper pad (again sorry) and the plain card is from the papermill shop.  I ran the centre panel through the cuttlebug with the perfectly paisley embossing folder.  I cut out the image with my nesties (labels 3) and I used my MS doily lace punch for the decorative edge.  The sentiment is SU from the ‘wow flowers’ stamp set and the adhesive pearls are kaisercraft.  The gorgeous flowers are from tabby crafts

Our sponsor this week is Jeanette Eames, an independent SU demonstrator and the prize is yet to be confirmed but I’m sure it will be awesome.  Please check out the rest of the DT cards, as they are all stunning once again.

I can’t wait to see what you create this week and look forward to visiting your blogs.  Thanks for stopping by today.

SWF #37 - little presents

SWF #37 - little presents (close up 3)

SWF #37 - little presents (close up 1)

Hello, it’s Monday morning which means one thing, a new challenge over at stamp with fun challenge.  This week’s theme is ‘little presents’ so I decided to make a pizza-style gift box.  I followed a simple tutorial over at SCS and I’m quite pleased with the finished result (bearing in mind that I hate making anything that is not a card lol).  For my box I used plain card from the papermill shop and paper by doodlebug.  The image is a gorgeous digi from bee crafty called ‘whimsical girl and snowman’ and I coloured it with my promarkers.  I cut the edges with a fiskars corner adorner scissors and the small snowflake was punched with my MS arctic snowflake punch.  The large snowflake was sent to me by Tracy at Dies to Die For (she is so generous and always sends lots of freebies with my orders) the snowflake was originally white so I coloured it with my berry red promarker to match my box.  The adhesive stones are PM and again I coloured them with my berry red promarker to match my colour scheme.

Our sponsor this week is once again cute stamps and cards and the lucky winner will receive this cute stamp by Elizabeth Bell:

Please check out the rest of the DT projects as they are all stunning.  I can’t wait to see what you create and look forward to visiting your blogs.  Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to call back a little later to see my cupcake craft challenge DT card.

Mojo Monday sketch challenge #116

b'day card (5)

b'day card (5) close up

Hello and happy Sunday to you all.  Sorry I haven’t been around very much this week but I’m still having computer problems grrrr!  It will probably have to go back to the repair shop this week so there may be sporadic posting again this week!!  Onto to my card which is for the mojo Monday sketch challenge.  I used a gorgeous new image from DigiStamp Boutique called 'coco and flowers’ and coloured it with my promarkers and I also used a sakura gelly roll pen in the centres of the flowers.  The papers are K&Co from the sparkly sweet paper pad and I cut the circles with my circle nesties.  I ran two of the circles through the cuttlebug using my swiss dots embossing folder.  The stunning ribbon is new and is from fantastic ribbons and its very sparkly IRL and the sentiment was created on the pc.

Don’t forget you can still get 20% off all Christmas images over at DigiStamp Boutique – great for those last minute cards!

I am also entering this card for the daring cardmakers challenge, which this week is ‘polka dots’.  I will hopefully be back tomorrow with my cupcake craft challenge and stamp with fun DT cards.  Thanks for stopping by today.

A card for a few challenges!

b'day card (23)

b'day card (23) close up

Hello and happy Wednesday to you all.  Well another week is flying by isn’t it.  I may have to go to extreme measures and buy some Christmas cards this year (OMG) but I’ve only made a fraction of what I need so needs must!!

Onto my card, which I’m entering into the following challenges:

Cute card Thursday – swirly girly

La-la land crafts challenge – pink and green

Cute Daisy May challenge – twinkle twinkle (sparkle, bling etc)

Pile it on challenge – tinsel town (again glitter, bling etc)

For my card I used an image that was a RAK and coloured it with my promarkers.  The papers are all DCWV from the nana’s nursery (girl) stack and the decorative edge was cut with my MS doily punch.  I used my circle nesties to cut out the images and the flowers are cut with my ek success small retro flower punch.  The sentiment is craftwork cards and the paper behind was cut out with my SU oval punches.  The adhesive stones are PM.  It’s difficult to tell in the photo but the paper has glitter all over it – gorgeous IRL.  Thanks for stopping by today.

CCC challenge 69 - christmas song (close up)

Hello and welcome to a new challenge over at cupcake craft challenge.  Our theme this week is ‘sing a christmas song’ and I decided to go with ‘santa claus is coming to town’.  I used a digi-image from DigiStamp Boutique called ‘jolly santa’ and coloured him with my promarkers (don’t forget you can still get 20% off all Christmas images over at DSB).  The paper is doodlebug and the red card is from the papermill shop.  I used my swiss dots embossing folder on the piece of red card behind the image.  The image is cut out with my circle nesties and the sentiment was created on the pc and cut into small pieces.  The edges were then inked with an ice jade colorbox cats eye inkpad.  The ribbon is dovecraft and the button is from my stash.  The swirls (ek success) were a freebie from Tracey at Dies to Die For and the adhesive stones are PM.
