Stamptacular challenge #9

This is my entry for this week's stamptacular challenge, which is 'a wedding theme'. A made this card for a lady at work. I stamped the forever friends image and coloured it with my promarkers. The "lace effect" dp is dovecraft and the blue swirl dp is doodlebug. I used my fiskars border punch on the blue swirl dp to create the decorative edge. The plain cs is from the papermill shop. The heart was punched out of white cs with my x-cut punch and the sentiment was created on the pc. The adhesive stones are PM. Sorry for the 'wonky' picture (I promise I wasn't drunk when I took it lol!) I hope you are all enjoying the glorious sunshine today - I've been out with all the family (minus hubby who is away in Weston-Super-Mare for a stag night) for a meal and a sit in the beer garden (although I was driving so purely diet coke for me) and it was a scorcher. Thanks for stopping by.

Sunday sketch & stamp #3/ASFOS #53/charisma cardz #21

This card was made for one our the doctors at my hospital who has just had her second baby girl awww. I managed to combine three challenges into this card, which I haven't done for a while lol! Firstly the sketch is this week's Sunday sketch & stamp challenge, ASFOS this week is looking for lace and the charisma cardz challenge this week is 'going dotty' (which includes circles). Anyway onto the card..... I stamped the elzybells image and coloured it with my promarkers, adding stickles to the star. The sentiment is from a set by verve called family phrases. The dp is all by making memories (again from the candy I received from Sally-Ann) and the velvet ribbon is from my stash. The decorative lace edging was cut with my fiskars border punch and the flowers and charm (which I know is not that clear but says princess) are from my stash. The adhesive stones are PM. I love baby cards, especially baby girl cards, although I don't seem to make that many. Thanks for stopping by.

Crafty Muse challenge

This is a card I made for an order at work and fits the bill for the crafty muse challenge, which is black, white + ? So I have chosen black, white and pink. I printed off the Prudence download (part of the Prudence and Percival set) from DigiStamp Boutique and coloured it with my promarkers. The black and white dp is doodlebug and the pink dp is a freebie from a card magaine. The black cs is from the papermill shop. The ribbon and buttons are from my stash. The sentiment was created on the pc and the brad and adhesive stones are PM.

It's been such a busy week this week over at Passion for Promarkers.....my email inbox has never been so full. We've had an immense response so far to our first challenge "anything goes" but you still have a few days left to enter. Don't forget the amazing prizes we have up for grabs. Check out the PFP blog to see all the details. Thanks for all your lovely comments.

TODAY'S THE DAY.......

Well, it's finally here, the first challenge of the Passion for Promarkers blog has launched. This week's mega prize challenge is sponsored by Angel Crafts, Joanna Sheen and Dies to Die For and the theme is "anything goes", so even if you only have one promarker you can still enter this week. Onto my card - I received the greeting farm 'anya' image from Gina (haven't managed to get my hands on them yet grrr) and coloured her with (guess what???) promarkers. For her hair I used cinammon, cocoa and apricot, for her jacket and boots I used mustard and pastel yellow, for her skirt I used pastel pink, her socks were coloured with dusky pink and for the umbrella I used meadow green and apple. I also added highlights with a white gel pen. The dp is all BG from the absolutely gorgeous porcelain paper pad. The sentiment is SU from the circle of friendship set and the flowers were punched out of the dp with my ek success retro flower punches (again!). The pearl brads are PM. We are all so excited over on the PFP blog and hope you are too. Pop over and see the beautiful cards created by all the DT. We can't wait to see what you come up with. Thanks for stopping by.

Ida's blog candy

Ida, my fellow DT member on CCC and Passion for Promarkers, is offering candy on her blog, which ends on 15th June. She will also be adding new items to her candy for every 20 comments she receives. The candy is a surprise - Ida will post a picture at the end so that everyone can see what's up for grabs. Check out her blog for details. Thanks for stopping by.

Cupcake Craft Challenge #41 (DT card)

This week's CCC was chosen by Erin and here's what she had to say about her challenge - "Today's challenge is all about the number 2! It's my daughter's second birthday, so I thought that would be a great way to celebrate!!! So in your sample please include 2 colors (plus a neutral), 2 shapes on the card, and 2 pieces of ribbon. Feel free to add any other embellies too:) Looking forward to seeing your 2's!!! Have fun!" What a great challenge Erin! So for my card I used an "Arthur" download from DigiStamp Boutique and coloured him with my promarkers. The dotty dp is a freebie from a craft magazine and the grey dp is DCWV (from the wedding stack). The plain cs is bazzill bling. The flower/pearl brad and the heart brads are all dovecraft and the ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is elzybells (I cut it up so that I could spread it out across the top of the card). I hope you like it and I can't wait to see your creations! Thanks for stopping by.

SCSC #33

This is my entry to this weeks secret crafter saturday challenge, which is "new beginnings" and has been chosen by Gina. I was asked to make this card by a friend at work (and she specifically asked for a pink house!!). I used an image that was a RAK from Diane and coloured it with my promarkers. The gingham dp is from my stash (no name) and the dotty dp is by making memories (part of my fabby candy win from Sally-Ann). The black cs is from the papermill shop. The scalloped edge was cut with fiskars decorative scissors and the flowers were punched out of the dp with my small ek success retro flower punch. Update on Passion for Promarkers blog

Hi all, I just wanted to update you on some exciting news over on the Passion for Promarkers blog. We have been lucky enough to secure 3 sponsors for our blog, Angel Crafts, Joanna Sheen and Dies to Die For and we have an amazing mega prize first challenge. The prizes donating by each sponsor is 3 x ribbon kits (Angel Crafts) 1 x whole set of promarkers - 92 pens!! (Joanna Sheen) and 2 x stamps (Dies to Die For). Wow I bet you're excited now. To top it off each sponsor is also donating vouchers to their store for forthcoming challenges, so that will mean each randomly chosen winner will be able to spend £10.00 in whichever store is offering the prize that week. Ok, take a deep breath, isn't that amazing. We would love it if you would spread the word on your own blogs as this prize is too fantastic to miss. Check out the blog for further details. I know we had already posted the challenge colours for the first 4 weeks but they are just being pushed back a week so if you've already bought the colours don't panic. Can't wait to see you next Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by.

Email problems

I'm sorry if anyone has emailed over the past day or so but I am having major problems. I can't actually access my email account at all at the moment. If anyone has an urgent question or comment that you would like me to answer please contact Gina at cardkabin@talktalk.net (especially if it is concerning our Passion for Promarkers blog). I hope to get things sorted over the weekend or failing that find myself another email account. Thanks for stopping by.

Meet Ruby.....

This is one of the new digi-images available at DigiStamp Boutique. Sally-Ann has come up trumps this time as these images (there are 3 different ones) are really cute and girly. I printed out Ruby fairy and coloured her with my promarkers, adding stickles to her wings. The dp is mainly freebies from a card magazine except for the tiny piece behind the image which is doodlebug. The flowers and stars were punched out of the dp and I doodled around practically everything (lol) with a fineliner pen. The sentiment is by stampendous and the adhesive stones are PM.
I'm also going to enter this card for two challenges this week - charisma cardz #19 where the theme is 'a star is born' and SCSC #32 which is 'glitter'. Thanks for stopping by.

Tuesday 19 May 2009

I'm so lucky....

.... to have crafty friends! I wanted to say a BIG thank you to all of you who have left me such kind and thoughtful messages (and emailed me) in the last few days. It is so touching to know that people that I have never "met" are thinking of me and sending me their loving wishes. I'm doing ok and the funeral is going to be on Friday, so hopefully we can try and get on with things after that (but never forget, I don't mean that but life has to go on doesn't it). You always feel in limbo in the time in between don't you. I will be back later with a card. Thanks for stopping by and I appreciate all your kind words.

My new challenge blog!

As you know I love my promarkers and use them on practically every card I make, so I won't come as any surprise to hear that along with my fellow devotee Gina (The Card Kabin) we have set up a "Passion for ProMarkers challenge blog". The challenge will run weekly on a Tuesday and consist of being set 2 or 3 specific colours of promarkers that you must use that particular week.

Now it's all very new and at the moment we are looking for 4 other promarker lovers to join our DT, so if you're interested just pop over to the Passion for ProMarkers blog and take a look (there are only a few rules). The closing date for applications is 18th May and our first challenge begins on 26th May. We would love it if you could come over and join the challenge. Please can you spread the word around as it would be great to start with a bang!

If you've popped over to the blog recently you will notice that we are offering candy as a "welcome to the challenge". All you need to do is add a link on your blog and comment on the post. We would love you to become a follower of our blog too but this is not essential. The candy closes on the 20th May, so don't miss out. Thanks for stopping by.

Edited to add: This post will remain at the top until the DT call closes on 18th May! Please check below for new posts - I wouldn't want you to miss anything LOL!

Sad news

I just wanted to let you know that my posting may be a little erratic for a while as sadly my grandfather passed away yesterday. He was a fantastic man and would have been 96 in September. He had a good life and had 6 children so always had lots of family around him, as he did yesterday when he slipped away from us. He was always happy and never let anything get him down, a tip most of us should take from him I think.

I will be around and will be posting but probably not as often as I usually do. Please bear with me as I will need to craft to take my mind off things. Don't know when the funeral will be just yet, so everything is "up in the air". Thanks for stopping by.

Colour Create #15/ASFOS #51

This is my second post for today, please scroll down to see my earlier card!!

This is my entry for this week's colour create challenge, which is 'blue and green' (with the optional extra of paper piecing - which I forgot lol) and a spoonfull of sugar which is 'buttons galore'. The image is high hopes 'Anthony James' (available from Dies to Die For) and I coloured him with my promarkers. The dp is BG from the archaic paper pad and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The sentiment is a rub-on by pebbles inc and the buttons are from my stash. I used this week's stamptacular sketch but to be entered you can't combine it with any other challenge d'oh! Thanks for stopping by.

Skater dude

This is another card for an order at work. I stamped the greeting farm image 'skater Ian' and coloured him with my promarkers. The dp is BG from the granola paper pad and I punched the circles out of the dp with various paper punches. The sentiment was created on the pc and the adhesive stones are PM. I quite like this card as it's a bit funky (not at all like me lol). Thanks for stopping by.

Dutch Dare #48

This is a card I made for an order at work but it also fits the challenge over at dutch dare this week, which is blue, white + 1 colour. I stamped the stamping bella image 'emmybella' and coloured her with promarkers. The dp is BG from the boxer paper pad and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The silk flowers and ribbon are from my stash and the smaller flowers were punched out with my ek success punch. The adhesive stones are PM and the scalloped edge was cut with fiskars decorative scissors. The sentiment is stampendous. Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday hedgie

This is a card I made for a lady at work. I stamped the PB image "greetings" and coloured it with my promarkers. The dp is all SU (not sure what ranges they are from) and the sentiment stamp is by stamping bella. The adhesive stones are PM. I kept the card fairly simple as the dp was quite busy but I like the final result. Thanks for stopping by.

Sending hugs

I made this card.......for no reason at all (wow that makes a change doesn't it lol). I stamped the lelo design image 'roses for you' (which is available from Dies to Die For) and coloured him with my promarkers. The dotty dp is doodlebug and I used my un-named gingham dp again. The plain cs is from the papermill shop and I used my ek success retro flower punches to cut out the flowers from the dp and cs. The decorative edge was created with my fiskars threading water punch. The wide red ribbon was wrapped around my husband's birthday cake (I'm a good recycler haha) and the adhesive stones are PM. The sentiment is a stamp by hero arts. I wanted to say a BIG thank you for all your blogoversary wishes yesterday. Thanks for stopping by.

Cupcake Craft Challenge

It was my turn this week to choose a theme for the CCC so I decided to choose a card for a man or a boy, as they are usually so difficult to make for. It was my son's 15th birthday last Friday so as I had to make a card for him I combined the two. Now it's not my usual type of card but my son is a drummer in a band called 'zenith 7' (hence the Z on the drumkit) and he is into rock music so I thought dark and grungy was the way to go - thankfully he loved it! I stamped the drumkit and 'you rock' sentiment from a clear stamp set by stampendous called 'rock out' and the skull & cross bones and star stamps are from a clear set by kars called 'rocky star'. The dp is DCWV and the plain cs is from the papermill shop. The images were coloured with promarkers and the ribbon and charm are from my stash. The happy birthday sentiment is stamping bella and I used a studio g alphabet set to stamp my son's name. The number stickers are also DCWV.

Now you may have noticed it's my blogoversary today - I can't believe that one year has gone by since I started this blog - and boy has my crafting come a long way (I hope lol). I have lots of lovely goodies to offer very soon but I think I will wait until the Passion for Promarkers candy and DT call are over so that my candy can be placed at the top of my blog for all to see. I hope you can wait a little longer for some lovelyness!! Thanks for stopping by.

ASFOS #50

This is my card for this week's a spoonfull of sugar challenge which is 'touchy feely' (add texture to your cards). I stamped the stamping bella image 'cupcake-a-bella' and coloured her with promarkers adding stickles to the cupcake. The floral dp is BG and the gingham dp is from my stash (no name on it). The plain cs is from the papermill shop and I punched out three flowers from it with my ek success retro flower punch. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment was created on the pc. The scallop edge was cut with my fiskars decorative scissors and the adhesive stones are PM. The sketch was last week's sketch saturday but as usual I was too late to enter it (story of my life at the moment lol). Thanks for stopping by.

Another DigiStamp Boutique card

This is another card I've created using a lovely digi-image from DigiStamp Boutique called 'Olly and family' which can be found here. I printed off the image and coloured it with my promarkers. The lovely dp is again SU and I used my ek success retro flower punch for the flowers. I used my fiskars decorative scissors to cut the scalloped edge and the adhesive stones are PM. I love this sentiment, and had forgotten all about it, until I went searching through my drawers (so to speak). I got it from ebay ages ago but can't remember the seller, sorry. Thanks for stopping by.

New DigiStamp Boutique images!

THIS IS MY SECOND POST FOR TODAY - SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MY EARLIER CARD!

I am so far behind with my DT duties, I will be sacked soon LOL! Here is one of the new digi-images available now at DigiStamp Boutique (called wedding church/chapel) and its available here. I printed off the image and coloured it with my promarkers. I used gorgeous dp from SU from the new tea party range and plain cs from the papermill shop. The large heart was cut with a woodware scalloped punch and the smaller hearts with an x-cut punch. The adhesive stones are PM. Sally-Ann is adding new images to the online shop all the time, so check back frequently. There is a new one just added called Arthur the Cat (sample to follow very soon) and he is soooo cute, you can see him here. Thanks for stopping by.

Colour Create #14

This is my card for this week's colour create challenge, which is 'red, cream and chocolate'. I made this for a lady at work for her mother to give to her doctor who is changing jobs. I stamped the sugar nellie image 'fizz' and coloured it with my trusty promarkers. The dp is all SU (the cream and red papers are from the new washington apple range but not too sure about the chocolate paper). The sentiments were created on the pc and the adhesive stones are PM. The sketch I used was last week's FF. Thanks for stopping by.
